Bait and Switch
What a rip-off! You have to waste time looking for the best deal. Multiple different deals for the same store on the home page and emails. Then, after finding the best deal for the store you’re shopping, you may or may not get that deal. I activated a get $10 back on $20+ purchase at SHEIN. I purchased $20+ and Capital One Shopping rewarded me with 3¢. I activated a reward from AARP and never received it. Then, good luck contacting customer support to resolve any discrepancies. The only saving grace for this app is that it cost nothing. Come on guys — ONE deal for each store : the BEST deal!

Nice but could use some improvement
I love the savings, but it’s often glitchy. I will use the link, go to a site. It shows in the upper right hand corner that I will get the offer. I check out and then there is nothing in my account. You need to bring back the detailed list of pending offers. It was much easier to keep track of it actually went through or not. I also need to have a larger variety of gift cards. I often don’t use this app because I can’t use the money that I have in my account for gift cards.

Does not work with QR scans and customer service non existent
Following the “scan and get your rewards” instructions on the desktop led to two issues - 1) the scan takes you to the app STORE not the app, where then opening the app does not lead to any recognition of the offer; and 2) there is an immediate 1 hour countdown once it’s “presented”. Contacting customer service led to nothing but automated messages. So now I’ve lost 2 offers equaling 3 figures and Capital One won’t reply. I’d use a different card going forward for their rewards system.

Scam - Marks Up To “Give A Deal”!
We tried to use the “savings app” to purchase concert tickets. My wife and daughter were getting ready for the release also. Capital One showed a “deal” to save $100, so I activated the deal. My tickets were then $800 more expensive. Had the wife and daughter refreshing phones and their price remained the same. Then got my iPad out and checked prices and they were the same as my wife and daughter. Same when my wife tried her MacBook. Then she logged into her Capital One savings and the price went up. My capital one app kept recommending to use this app and offered a reward if I installed it.
So I installed it I turned on all the extensions it requested in settings and 2 months later I don’t see any rewards Anywhere. I’d appreciate it if capital one stopped asking me to download this app. If it’s dishonest about the reward it could be dishonest about other things. Save yourself the trouble.
Now I’m stuck with all the extensions on safari and I don’t remember how to turn it off. Even though I deleted the app.

They claim credit for things they had no part in
Once in a while, they have a good deal. But it really burns me that they take credit for the savings that I had before they ever came into my life. Especially things I pay for. For instance, I am a Sam’s Club member and receive 2% back on purchases. That has been true for 20 years. But suddenly capital one thinks they are the ones that got me that 2%. They did not. I have definitely enjoyed some good rewards, however I have also had many issues. I did the refer a friend and followed all the steps but didn't receive a reward. I have ordered things that I activated rewards on but then never got them, also I have ordered things and received another reward offer right after as if I didn't already purchase it. Is this a scam?
Totally cannot find assistance to find out where my $65 sign up bonus is located and totally unable to access my shopping rewards. Unable to access help as the link to help says that it is unsupported. Totally useless machine chat that just goes in a circuitous route. Asked to link my bank account when the original shopping app is through capital one.
Have been a Capital One customer for more than two decades and am thinking of totally closing my accounts due to the impossibility of finding any competent assistance in any manner.

Not recommended
I used to really like Capital One Shopping—it was simple, helpful, and actually saved me money. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been my experience lately.
I’ve activated offers and made purchases through the app exactly as instructed, only to find that the rewards or cashback were never tracked. That defeats the entire purpose of using it. I’ve even had to return items because the expected savings never came through, which is frustrating and a waste of time.

Not respecting reward amount
I ordered items in total of $2100 with 45% reward, with not written limit (later I got another offer with max $1000 rewards), I reached out to support after I got only $250, they advise to wait and not return as it takes time to update. Have to understand well
At first I was happy that I got gift cards back, and I kept on shopping. Then, I started seeing how these rewards didn’t show up in few days, and there is nobody you can talk to. There is no phone number or chat. Only Q&A. So I’m pretty much just disappointed or return the items to merchants.
You won’t lose money, but you won’t get everything you expect either. You have to understand the terms and exclusions very well to get the best out of it.

Doesn’t follow link purchases well
I have made a couple purchases through their links to get credit and it never happens, it shows the shopping trip but not that I made a purchase, of course it’s for the ones I would get a large cash back for. It worked when I had the extension on my browser but not after I took it off. Too many little things that can go wrong. I never have problems with Rakatuen, always get my credit there, not sure why this one is so messed up. I am not bothering anymore, takes up too much space anyway.

Why are you making it so hard
I got a reward email to sign up and get a reward. I signed up, I start to put my info and then takes me to Verify my email. Well the link they send is a dead one that takes me to the app and does absolutely NOTHING. And everytime I go to the settings, it makes me login or send a magic link. I also put my phone number in and all of a sudden I don’t see the option to change it or even see there’s a phone number to begin with anymore. This app causes me so much frustration that I might just delete it and miss out on the cash back. Every time I have a good deal, it seems to disappear by the time I put the item in the cart and I can't get the cash back deal to return no matter where | look for it. Have used the app for over a month now and the deals and offers I’ve gotten have been decent. I haven’t received any of the rewards/cash back yet so I can’t speak to that. First of all, the email address to their “help” center is no longer monitored. Inquiries receive an automated response and a link back to the app. You cannot update your email address, and the help article indicates you should spend your rewards balance and then delete and replace your account. Read the fine print on any of the deals. They put all types of obstacles on the “deals” they offer. You might think that you are getting a great deal but reading the fine print it only qualifies for certain items. What’s the point of telling you you will get 1% or 2% back when the fine print says no more than 10 items, no drive up orders, no groceries, no this, no that, etc. Once it finishes telling you everything you can’t get, it defeats the purpose. I’ve used Cap One Shopping for years and while I’ve gotten a good amount of cash back and sometimes they have good promo codes, there is one glaring flaw—they often don’t credit anything or even acknowledge a transaction occurred. Initially I was offered rewards at Walmart which worked great for me because that’s where I buy my groceries. However, after I cashed out my first $100 four a Home Depot gift card suddenly the terms for those offers changed to exclude literally anything you would buy from Walmart. Their “Bonus Offer” excludes groceries, electronics, home goods; i.e. anything one world buy from Walmart. The deal I fell for was purchase $100 and get $50 cash back. I had a problem with one of my rewards, and since there is no help via the website I called Capital one, after being on the phone for an hour and being transferred twice, I finally was given an email to send a message to, which bounced, gave me the link to another email, which said they were no longer receiving emails, which directed me back to the help page to a hidden form submission request, I am still waiting to hear back.

On one hand, who doesn’t love extra cash back? But on the other, this app makes shopping online much slower. Store webpages take longer to load, lose functionality, and show more advertising pop-ups. I like saving money, I like that it populates coupon codes for me, but there are some serious flaws with the functionality of this app. When I'm shopping on safari it will often pop up at the bottom and demand I either search for codes or activate rewards, which then causes the page to refresh and usually redirect me to some other random tab I have open. This app feels like a scam designed to push you into buying things without ever paying out rewards.
I’ve used Capital One Shopping four different times, always through the official app. Each time, I clicked the deal inside the app, completed the purchase exactly as directed, and then—surprise—the purchase was later marked “ineligible for rewards.”
