On the way flying out red eye to Barbados for a wedding…. The flight attendants informed us that blankets are only for first class passengers. There are two sets of rest rooms on the plane. Flight attendants continued closing the curtain between first class and the rest of the cabin and refused access to the front rest rooms when they were providing service to first class. Although initially it seems, this is a straightforward app on how to see things there are many things are confusing. For me to check in I had to try three or four times to be checked in also my name they’re squishing my first name and my middle initial together. I don’t know if that will cause an issue when I check in at the gate tomorrow. I will forever fly United. Their customer service is outstanding. The inflight service is outstanding. Any issues I’ve ever had were resolved immediately.. The one thing that a lot of people worry about is safety on board. I don’t worry about that with United. Over the years there have been three incidents on flights that resulted in people being removed from the plane before takeoff. Stranded overnight, conflicting answers, surprise bag restrictions and non working app
United canceled our Milan flight less than 24 hours before departure and left us stranded overnight with no clear help at the airport, no usable support through the app, and no reliable rebooking information. We spent hours getting conflicting answers between United and Lufthansa while trying to get a realistic route home to Nashville. On top of that, the check-in process now says we are not allowed carry-on bags, even though we were allowed a personal item and carry-on on the flight here. Poor customer service
Unfortunately we did not make our flight in time. Due to weather, the planes were grounded the weather at the time was light showers btw, I don’t work for the FAA. Further more we missed it by 5 minutes. There was 20+ people who that were already at the gait, and one of the person witness the staff closing the gate before the scheduled cut off. The United App is so thoughtfully designed. But it also works like butter. This is another Steve Jobs moment- wherein the customers do not know what they want, until you give it to them. All questions can be easily answered on the app itself! Once was the best.
This used to be my favorite out of all the major airline apps. It was reliable and easy to navigate. After the last several updates it has become increasingly unstable. I regularly have to uninstall/reinstall the app just to get past the “United 100” splash screen. If the app does open, it now uses a great deal more battery running in the background and tracking my location. I get it, the location function is helpful to navigate an airport, but it serves no purpose if I’m sitting on the plane or at home. Maybe it should change back to only needing my location if I’m actively using the airport

I have a 1st class ticket leaving today and got a message that they are looking for volunteers to take a later flight and will pay compensation. It tells me to “bid” on the the amount I’d accept to give up my seat on this flight and take a later flight instead. I don’t have enough room in this review to tell you how much I loathe your app. If I am on my flight info page I should be able to check in. I travel a lot. No, I’m not some tubejockey who has to travel for work and looks at flying as a necessary evil. I travel for pleasure. Flying without a Real ID? Let’s make sure we ask you this in a popup literally every time you try to navigate a menu, and take 20 seconds to load the next screen. Maybe I lost my drivers license in the last 20 seconds, so it’s good to be sure! Flying and want to add a contactless payment? Worst Airline
I used to feel safe traveling with United Airlines but I no longer do. I was travelling home for the holidays and I’m in the military and definitely missed home. I had my luggage full of Christmas gifts and my own personal items I used wherever I travel. Since I move so much, I have to make sure to fit my life in a bag and this bag was it for me. My bag got lost December 19th and I would call day and night to get my luggage back. It is January 27, 2026 (over a month) and they haven’t found it yet. Could not see if my TSA precheck was active or not until the check-in period within 24 hours of departure. I was at my daughters in Ohio and the closest airport to here is Fort Wayne Indiana. They say be at the airport 2 hr. Before your plane leaves. I got there at 11:15am. for my flight at 1:34pm. First review: Difficult to scan passport and had to scan second passenger twice because the first pass through check-in didn’t finish checking in the second passenger. Good features but still buggy on core functions
So there are a lot of features on this app. Thumbs up on that front for being able to do lots of things. But at the ultimate fundamental, the day of travel, it’s frustrating that you can’t see your whole flight details, like arrival times, without two swipes. Also, gate information that it’s feeding is wrong about half the time. EVEN WITH AUTO UPDATE ENABLED! In a small airport, no big deal to get to your gate and find out the app/boarding pass is out of date and shuffle over to the correct one. I have spent hours and multiple emails and text messages trying to get a password reset. Nothing worked. And multiple times I was assured by people on the phone or in a text message that they would make sure that they would not hang up or until resolved. But no one ever corrected the problem. I flew a transatlantic flight on United with no problems. My problem happened when I booked through United and I got stranded on Air Canada. In larger markets it may be different but in smaller hubs with no kiosks, agents, or curbside check-in you may have to rebook like I did. Mechanical issues don’t happen everyday. It will lie to you about the flight being on time when it’s literally past the departure time and there’s no plane at the gate yet.
