Sometimes it works great, sometimes not. There is a database somewhere that has my name for sky miles as ‘Nate’ instead of ‘Nathaniel’ (even though my phone will show ‘Nathaniel’) and the app won’t let me check-in for my flight because of a name mismatch. (But it lets me pay in miles from my sky miles….) Anyway, going to the airport early every flight and sitting & waiting for the agents to try and talk to support and get it cleared up is such a nuisance. I had just downloaded this app. I clicked a link from Delta’s email to open the flight information in this app. It opened the app (which is a standard pattern) and I had to login. Here’s where the 5 stars comes in. After logging in, it immediately opened the ticket associated with the link I clicked. 99% of apps would have lost this redirect link in the process of logging in. It required a bit of a more complicated data model in order to preserve this information. I called Delta because I noticed there was a first class seat available on this flight. I’m a Platinum medallion and delta reserve card holder which I pay $650 a year now to have. I called and asked why there was a ticket available for first class and they told me it wasn’t an upgrade available seat. We always travel Delta. Best and friendliest employees. However on October 7, we had a flight out at 6:50. Unfortunately we arrived five minutes (6:00) after check in. The very first time I flew delta I had downloaded this app. I purchased a basic economy seat which is very restrictive, although on the day of the flight you do have the ability to select your seat and might be able to find a better seat since your original seat is randomly selected. I have used this app for years and what is happening now has NEVER happened. At a time when I need this app to WORK it has failed me. Days ago, the app told me I needed to complete my Contact Information form to be ready for check in. I did so. The app updated and said I was ready. Delta obviously no longer cares about the loyal customers who helped put Delta where there are today. This app used to be great now it doesn’t work consistently anymore. Sometimes I have no issues but more often than not features do not work. If you try to purchase a ticket your credit card gets charged but an error stops the ticket from being booked. You can always try again but in my experience if it didn’t book the first time it probably won’t work the second time. The bigger challenge is now you have a charge on your card and have to wait sometimes 5 days for a refund. As someone who flies about 100 times per year consistently for 15 years, I feel like I understand the delays are inevitable. Was on a flight to El Paso. They delayed my first flight I. Florida, I ask the lady at the front desk and she tells me with an attitude that I will make my plane. The problem I was facing on May 14th was the screens at the Gainesville airport weren’t matching the app and most of the screens were blank. Communication was far few between it made me nervous of flying. Delta is like family to me
I have been flying Delta my entire adult life. They have always treated me like family. The warm smile welcoming me aboard makes me feel like I just walked into the house of a dear friend, or family member. I have had lots of opportunities to fly direct for far less money. I’ve tried it before. But I always end up regretting being on that airline. I get off of the plane grumpy and tension filled. DO NOT FLY WITH DELTA
I tried purchasing my mother’s baggage online & it wouldn’t take any form of payment. It did not provide an error message, either. I tried on the website and through the app. I tried deleting my cookies and nothing. The rep on the phone had no solution but was definitely more helpful than Etta (supervisor) on chat. I am a long time delta flyer, medallion member, and app user. The app has recently become an inconvenience. 1. Certain features suddenly don’t show up on the app. I was in flight, and my drink voucher disappeared when I wanted to use it, 2. One for the service one for the app
When I first started flying from Florida to Alabama it was fine, it was the best option to get to north bama for a reasonable price without having to fly to Nashville or some other city and spend an hour driving back over. App has some issues
This review is not based on travel issues I’ve had. It’s based upon functionality not working in the app. 2 recent examples this weekend. My flight from Bozeman to Minneapolis was delayed due to mechanical so I missed my connection to NY. The app recommended a later flight but every time I tried to accept it, I got a “something went wrong, please try again” message. Rude Flight Attendant Killed the Score
Flights were great and on time! However the rudeness of 1 flight attendant was enough to really upset me! I had a regular sized carry-on, boarding a smaller plane. Same plane I had already flown on, and my bag fit fine. She stopped me as I was boarding and asked why I hadn’t gate checked my bag. I had my work computer and a few other items I may have needed in the bag. Panic at the gate
My husband dropped me off at LEX and I was walking down the concourse when I realized that I had left my phone on the kitchen table. I approached the gate agent and asked if I could use the desk phone to call my husband. I was in a panic and couldn’t remember my husband’s phone number. If miss flight due to Delta’s fault, the wait for customer service is over two hours at Delta help desk to resolve getting hotel accommodation and vouchers. The app doesn’t allow for assistance. I called Delta 1-800 number and stayed on hold for representative for over 2 hours but no one picked up. Once a Delta help representative called my number in the queue it was 11 pm. I travel a lot between Europe and the United States and I am American. Due business I have to change my reservations frequently and it used to be easy through the delta app. However the last several trips I have not been able to access the delta apps and make changes period. I have had to have the grueling experience of spending hours on messaging delta to see what options I have. Because for whatever reason I am blocked out of making changes period online. I love to travel with delta with my family I had the best experience and the crew it was very patient, pleasant and efficient. I had to stay for 3 more days in the airport due to Microsoft technical issues and my firts flight was supposed to be with Latam but they sent me with Delta was traveling from Orlando to Atlanta, final destination Buenos Aires.
