Very disappointed with my experience dealing with Toyota Financial Services regarding my recent 2023 GR86 purchase.
After finally getting access to my account, I discovered that over $9,000 in warranties and add-on products had been added to my loan, dramatically increasing my balance, monthly payment, and loan term. I immediately started trying to get answers and assistance regarding the cancellation process.

App never saves my information and face I.D never works so I have to enter my information every time. It only takes bank account info and not debit card info for immediate transactions, and because of this it takes at least 3 days for the money to come out of my account. Also when you call customer service I can never get someone on the line to pay with my debit card, because my information is saved it’s an auto generated voice that won’t let me skip. Very frustrating process to try and make a payment.

Not convenient
Payments are not accepted on Saturdays or Sundays, which is ridiculous. Everything is computer generated and auto deducted through banking computer systems. If I make a payment online or in a store on a Saturday or Sunday and use my debit bank card it’s auto deducting on a Saturday or Sunday. This can cause people to have late payments if they don’t know about this feature with the new update. Not to mention this app has to have an update nearly every month when I log in. New feature this Saturday when I logged in to pay…payments no longer accepted on Saturdays! Get with the times Toyota.

Worst programming
Every financial institution have their software designed to seperate actual payments and additional payment separately but TOYOTA
they want to take every opportunity to milk out dime from their customers, therefore they do not have option for additional payment space. If you make additional payment, they apply those to your next month payment instead of applying towards principle!
Common sense question is "why do people make additional payment? To bring down their principal amount or to apply it for next month? This will be my last loan with Toyota ever. Will not advice my next 10 generations

If they’re not paying for or botting these reviews, I dont understand how it’s this highly rated. Almost every time I try to use ANY Toyota app, it won’t connect or won’t log in at all. I can’t make my payment because they’ve decided that they won’t accept apple hide my email anymore, because toyota sells your data to whoever can pay, and it’s more valuable if they have a legit email and phone number to sell with it. Yes this is real and it’s being litigated in a few different courts right now.

I’m very disappointed with the app. I’ve had this loan for 4 years and have never missed a payment. I requested a skip pay the prior month before it was due and received a past due notice. When I called customer service I tried to explain what happened and I was told a customer can never make the request in the app. When I make the last due payment amount it won’t allow me to do this as a Jan payment. It’s showing as a Feb payment. My credit score is over 800, and I haven’t experienced anything like this after working so hard to get it. The loan is almost paid off. I’m not using Toyota FS agai

Issues with App
1) I finally was able to activate the app which is a pain. Much preferred the previous version. Whoever updated it needs to get fired.
2) Although I reported the problem months ago, you have not fixed a problem. The problem is that when you have the phone in the upright position (portrait orientation) you must hold the phone, swipe upwards way up high to hold the up position up high, and hit the red button to “submit” at the same time. It took me 4 times to try this exercise. Ridiculous. Anyways I finally got in but it took way too much effort.

MFA options
When going to create my account, Toyota gives step by step instructions on how to create an account. The final step is linking your “hide my email” account which is set to forward emails to my primary account. The emails are not being delivered (I checked spam, promotions + every other folder).
There is no option to choose a different MFA, like text or call. You’re forced to use this singular channel + you can’t do anything if it’s not working.
Then there are no resources/options available on how to set it up differently + there’s no help line on the mobile site or the app. I would even tak

I’ve had nothing but problems using the Toyota app. The thing that drives me nuts most about it is they constantly updated and then they forced you to change your password while also using a two factor authentication. In every eight months to a year, I have to stop and entering a brand new password. Then when you go back and do it again, it says you can’t use any passwords that resemble your past five passwords even though all the numbers are mixed up. Now they updated a new privacy policy and every time I pull up the privacy policy on my phone it doesn’t allow me to click an option to accept

Log In Problems
App works fine as far as its functions. Logging in is the problem. It’s consistently unreliable. 1) It doesn’t keep you signed in, so you have to log in every use. 2) Face ID doesn’t work so you have to manually input your password. 3) More often than not, there’s an error with the login process so you’re not able to log in.
These become a big problems when users have payments due but are unable to even login to make those payments.
These are simple fixes. Get them prioritized and worked on. It’s been 2+ years of this happening.

Can’t use the app can’t even log in on the site
For the past several weeks I haven’t been able to log into app or online to view my account and pay my bill. But I’m getting calls about a missed payment that wasn’t missed cause I paid it over the phone and it was taken from my bank account. Fix the app, it keeps saying that the error is on your end and I even told the customer service rep about it and she just told me she’ll let them know that system is down. Worst app I’ve ever used in my life
Every time I try to log in to make a payment there is always some issue that won’t let me in. It should be a felony to be able to make an app this horrible. They should probably find some new developers because it would be pretty embarrassing to be able to develop cars but not a basic app. I bet the main developer brags about this app at parties and he shouldn’t because everyone in the room knows that his app is complete garbage but no one has the heart to tell them. When I lost my job and was trying to keep a roof over my family’s head every other financial institution I deal with was more than happy to help me delay payments, pay interest only or something to give me time to get back on my feet. -Uses your phone sensors to record data about your driving habits then sells that data to data brokers, who in turn sell the data to your insurance company, who use the data as justification to raise your rates.

We were at our last payment and we called TFS to find out the process. We were, routed to an automated service every time.. We then contacted our local Toyota dealer as well as the dealership we bought from. No one could advice on the payoff process. We then decided to go through the TFS app instead of our regular Bill Pay so that our payoff payment was received expeditiously and in hope that the lien be released as well as our title. You would think that a company like Toyota would be able to hire someone to design an app that actually works. Just bought a new Toyota and downloaded the app and after about The fifth try it finally allowed me to get past the create account page only to be told over and over again that my password,which I had just created, was invalid. The app is honestly good and I haven’t had any issues since I got it 3 years ago, but I don’t know if it was the new iOS 18 update or what happened but every time I open the app I takes me to the log in/create account screen when it uses to send me directly to the log in screen and use Face ID right away. I pay my bill ON THE DATE it is due every month. When I did this for September it accepted the payment, it usually takes up to a week for the payment to go through so I waited. It’s been 2 weeks and when I saw that the money was still in my account and the app was not letting me log in. You can’t put in the date that you want to pay on! You can’t reach anyone unless they call you! It takes to long for the money to be taken! If I’m trying to pay on a certain date it’s because I will have the funds in my account. Don’t wait two or three days after to withdraw the money it might not be there at that time. I give it 2 from 4 I would have given because they removed a very important function of the app telling the worth of the vehicle even after paying off the lease or value left. But this is some fraud indirectly to fool people who wouldn’t look at the value after lease… that value is a constant but now that that value could be lower than current car value the dealers have chose to remove the value from being conspicuous. Trying to make my first car payment after buying a new car and every time I attempt to add a payment method the app glitches out. The moment I enter either my routing number or account number for my bank I can’t do anything on the screen other the edit other text boxes. I was under the impression that money was automatically being deducted from my account to pay my car, when I wanted to see and check the app was either “under maintenance” or had an error with services with biometrics. Every single time the app has an update it logs me out and it takes legit weeks to log back in every single time. It signs me out and won’t take my password then won’t let me change my password or let me log in and pay through the regular Toyota app. This has made me miss payments before which is unbelievably frustrating.
