The MyMazda App makes your Mazda ownership experience simpler and more convenient than ever. The app allows you to do:
- Register your Mazda vehicle(s) to make online service appointments
- Locate dealers nearby
- Download owner’s manuals and guides
- Access and enter service history information
- Request Mazda Roadside Assistance
- Stay up to date with recalls
In addition, if your vehicle is Mazda Connected Services capable, you can activate it through the MyMazda App, which will take your Mazda experience to the next level. Here are a few of the things you’ll be able to do with Mazda Connected Services (all available through the complimentary trial period).
- Remote Engine Start / Stop
- Remote Door Lock / Unlock
- Monitor vehicle health
- Receive vehicle status alerts
- Easily find your car remotely
- Search public charging stations, check charging process, and facilitate ChargePoint payment if applicable (BEV/PHEV)

Terrible. Especially given how much I paid for my car.
Even without considering the fact that you have to pay a subscription to use car features, this app is outright horrible and it is easily the worst thing about owning a Mazda vehicle. The app hardly works. It never keeps me signed in, the biometric login doesn’t even work, the app is super slow to respond, literally half the time THE APP WON’T EVEN LOG ME IN, so I’ve been locked out being able to use features that I PAID FOR because the app is just terrible. I’ve had times where the remote start feature won’t work. it won’t notify me that it failed to start my car, it just goes radio silent on

Horrible performance
I’ve had this app since my previous Mazda, but now that it’s connected to my car and serves good functions, I can’t get the app to login. I got logged out for no reason and have not been able to get the app to login again. I’ve tried for days to get logged back in so I can start my car remotely, but nothing happens. It just says “error, please try again later.” I’ve tried opening it on my WiFi, not on my WiFi and nothing works. Way too many notifications
App is somewhat useful and that’s being generous. I wouldn’t ever pay for these services and app getting close to just being deleted from my phone. OMG the amount of BS notifications. I owned my Mazda CX-50 for less than 24 hours and received over 15+ push notifications. Some as simple as my car door is open. Really! I got 3 notifications in 15 min alone when I was trying to clean my car from the bad detailing job the Mazda dealer did after purchasing. Mazda Connect
While I love my 2023 CX-9 and the Mazda brand I am not a fan of the $10/month charge for their Mazda Connect app which allows me to check my doors and remote start in the winter.
There is really no way to pause it during the warmer months.
Most other vehicle brands offer much more pertinent information like oil level, individual tire pressure with in their touch system in their vehicle, one thing not offered in the app or in the in-vehicle information system.
Mazda it would be much better received at a $50/yr fee for this very limited connect app for your customers.

Bad UI, non functioning
Half the time I open the app, it makes me log in again, despite having enabled “keep me logged in” and biometrics. Log in itself is clunky, having to go to the Mazda website through the app.
The lock/unlock feature has to be repeated several times to achieve results. Remote start only works about 75% of the time. I’ve been using the app for about 4 months now.
And just a complaint on Mazda in general - seeing your tire pressure is standard on almost all other vehicles. Why on earth does the cx5 not have that simple capability?

This app has always had its issues, but it’s been tolerable and you essentially need it for remote features. Since the new update, the login screen looks a tiny bit nicer but that’s the ONLY good thing about it now!! It makes it so much harder to login, it makes you accept privacy policy and terms every single time you want to login. If you share an account with your spouse, it’ll log you out and make you jump through hoops every time you each log in because of “security” (crazy, families can share a car??). This is possibly the worst app on the market! The lack of customized functions that are available on lower priced cars is unbelievable. You can start and lock/unlock your car. That’s it. Inconsistent authentication
I’ve had this app for 2 years now and the most recent update has caused some aggravating authentication issues. Everytime I login to do a 2 second task such as remote start my car, I have to agree to the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy and login again, then enable biometrics.
This should be a quick task, but due to the auth issues, it really is just inconvenient.
Once you’re in the app, it’s good and fine, but auth flow has never been this app’s strong suit.

And i always wondered why it was only available on an app and not on the key fob and now we know: its because they wanted to get us used to the convenience so that they could eventually nickel and dime their customers. Recently my app no longer sends notification to my iPhone regarding about my door unlock or car door is still open. I have tried updating my iOS, deleting the app, disconnecting from my car and reconnecting it and nothing is working. My car was unlocked all night and I thought someone went into my car luckily nothing was stolen. The app was really good until recently it just completely failed to send notifications. And the apps logs off unknowingly and I have to log back in every time. Hopefully someone can let me know what I can do to get this app working.

The programmers don’t use the app!!
You get a notification that your drivers door is unlocked, you use the app to remote lock your car!! Works great!!
You close the app down, your app now has a big red 1 notification. You open the app, go to messages, then to the LAST PAGE in messages to click the notification that your drivers door WAS unlocked (which is now locked). It’s a 10 step process to have your notifications read.

The app unresponsive. Commands fail all the time and it’s always saying that it takes several minutes to update from the car. Sorry, I thought they took all the 1G towers down? Why is your app so slow? Poor experience with Mazda Financial Services — THEY took forever to mail lease end statement, disabled the previously setup online payments and insisted on mail in then when it arrived 1 day late cashed the check and sent to collections. Already a 3000 repair on the CX-90 —the most unreliable SUV in the world. Thankful for the service contract, but will be selling it as soon as it’s done.

Unreliable and inconsistent technology - Creates safety and usability issues
The app is extremely unreliable. It often shows incorrect information about whether my car is locked or unlocked, which makes it impossible to trust for basic vehicle security.
Remote start is also inconsistent. Sometimes the car does not start at all, and when it does, it shuts off far too quickly, making the feature barely useful. The app gives little to no feedback about whether a command actually worked.

Let’s us have the option to set limit on car start up, make it a maximum of 15 minutes but lets us choose any time within 15 minutes. Also there are other companies in which you can install to turn car off and on with an app and ones you go to the car and open the door, the will not turn off due to the car reading the key is near by. So this app is terrible like half the time. Theres 50/50 chance it just won’t load the app after logging in. It will endlessly spin as if it’s loading and nothing will happen. Then it could take literal minutes for the remote to actually send the signal you want it to. Unlocking your car could take upwards of 5 minutes or take as little as 20 seconds.
They piled on to this truly awful stuff by making the app just not remain in your cache. So nearly every single time you open the app you have to spend 20-30 seconds logging in. That doesn’t sound bad until you do it. It’s so unbelievably frust

It’s a great app there’s just a few quality of life things that I wish were better especially if you end up paying for the service after your initial trial ends. The app is useful to me being that I can remote lock/open and start/stop from a distance. In order to use the app, one needs to pay a subscription. The status of the car in terms of whether the doors/trunk are locked/open and tire pressure - the very useful feature is not updated to real time. Charging $10/month for an app with three useful features is criminal. Mazda has removed the remote start feature from the fob, forcing its customers to download their app to in order to use features that are already installed on the vehicles. Can I live without remote start? Sure, but I paid for a vehicle that has the remote start feature installed, so why do I need to pay for it multiple times over?

Several concerns to note - I recently purchased my first Mazda vehicle, the CX-50, in May 2025. I had accumulated approximately 2,800 miles on the vehicle. On October 4th, I noticed a light indicating an “engine malfunction” and was advised to contact the dealership for service or a check-up.
I am deeply disappointed with the Mazda product. It is concerning that a service light is illuminated on a vehicle purchased within a short period. Mazda should offer a guarantee that their vehicles will not cause any negative impact on the vehicle.

Forced subscription for worse quality
The app is basically just remote start for most cars. And I guess I can check tire pressure. The remote start is so slow and requires a subscription when it could have been included on the key. App is meh
So the app is very early 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣s and too corporate in style and function. Much like the car you need to navigate thru too many levels is a bit annoying. IT should function like air. You know it’s there and you just breathe. Additionally there are so many missing functions. Why can’t I set my AC or charging schedule via the app for one. What about seeing the avg MPG. Checking the last reported oil level and condition. Why are there so many app message menus. You could parse it down to three.

Missing features
App works well only a few things I wish were different. 1. With the remote start once you open the door the car shuts off, I understand that’s a safety feature but there are other vehicles that have remote start and you just need to press the start button with the fob close by so it doesn’t shut off. This to me is more practical. 2. You are unable to change the desired temperature inside the cabin with the app so whatever it was when you last turned it on that’s what it will be at. Other than that I think it’s a decent app.
