Extremely disappointed with my experience using Seamless.
My order was significantly delayed, and by the time it finally arrived, the food was cold and clearly no longer fresh. After reaching out to customer support, I expected a reasonable resolution given the circumstances. Instead, I was told that a full refund could not be provided due to company policy. What made the situation even more frustrating was that the support representative ended the chat before properly addressing my concerns. Inefficient
I don’t usually leave reviews but I don’t see why anyone would use this app over any of the others. The app shows you where it’s locating you, but for some reason it will search in places you have recently ordered instead of where you are. I accidentally ordered for pickup at a Brooklyn location of a chain, realized immediately, but there was nothing I could do to change it. You can’t change the location, and I tried to cancel it within seconds of the order but it doesn’t allow you to cancel. I ordered food and waited patiently. I received all the necessary text updates telling me my food would arrive soon, that my phone number would be contacted if there is an issue. Great service but uncomfortable with being photographed without my consent
Seamless is a great and dependable delivery service, but one aspect of the service that makes me uncomfortable is that the drivers often seem to feel that they need to photograph me holding my food in order to verify that they have made the delivery. Because now, when you’ve got the munchies at 10 PM, and you forgot that you’re at home instead of the bar where you last ordered, Seamless actually gives you the chance to update it - even after placing the order. I have had this app on my phone for ONE WEEK. I have placed TWO orders EVER. The first order (Chipotle) took almost an entire hour and the burrito was cold, so I did not eat it and I was out $26, but I figured that wasn’t the app’s fault so I ordered papa John’s the next day and was going to worry about the refund the next day. Terrible service
For something that is essentially a luxury service and costs so much money, the service you actually get with it is often terrible. I am tired of dealing with drivers that don’t speak any English and hang up on me when I ask if they need me to come down. I live in a 6th floor walk up and am dealing with a knee injury right now. Delivery drivers that don’t deliver
Seamless use to be my TOP food delivery app. Hands down, was my go to app. But within the last 6 months it’s gotten really poor. Twice in the last 6 months I’ve ordered and the delivery driver kept my food for themselves. Seamless barely wanted to help me with the issue both times. Also there aren’t EVER any specials or rewards. I’ve been using Uber eats for the past 3 months and many of my favorite restaurants have BOGO specials on the Uber eats app. Not to mention, ordering with Uber eats gets you “Uber cash” after a certain amount of orders. seamless is the worst food delivering app by far. I have ordered on there many times and it’s always the same. The timing is completely off and then when I try to contact support they are no help at all. Then this one time I ordered Italian food and the driver was completely lost and they told me they couldn’t help at all. Customer service is terrible
I understand that this app is supposed to make things easier. Anytime there’s an issue and I contact customer service. They’re unable to help. The app glitches and doesn’t allow order updates tho it has a form for it, they don’t know how to update a delivery order or they don’t have their own access to do so. So, when something is an issue, they can’t even cancel the order and refund in the original form of payment instead can only insist on the GrubHub credit. Double delivery fees
I have been questioning the use of keeping a Seamless account for free delivery, because the restaurants are all now charging their own delivery fee AND service fee when you order through Seamless. So, we now pay more just for ordering food through Seamless and Grubhub. And some restaurants refuse to take call-in orders. What a rip off! The consumers are being punished because of what restaurants claim are the high fees Seamless and Grubhub charges them, so they have to get it back through the customers. I mostly use UberEats because generally speaking I always have super delayed orders with seamless. The past two orders I tried to place really took the cake though, to the point that I’ll probably never use this app again. Both times the delivery estimate was around 4 minutes. I’ve been using Seamless for years and it’s time to say goodbye. I signed up as a Seamless+ member back in 2021. At some point in the last year and a half I stopped seeing my benefits in the app, so thought I had unsubscribed. Turns out there’s a weird UX loophole where if you use Apple SSO you can get signed in with an anonymized email, and you can’t access your subscription. It took me 30 minutes of chatting with customer service to get my issue resolved (the delivery was about 30 minutes late, from the wrong restaurant, the delivery person left quickly before I could check my food, and their contact phone number was incorrectly listed in the app so I couldn’t reach them to try and fix it. Fix distance sort
Update: distance sort was fixed. App quality has generally been a mix of forward and backwards steps over the years and I usually just deal with it until the next update fixes it, but breaking distance sort is a non-starter. Delivery time errors
If you are ordering from one time zone for someone in another time zone, the app does not warn you that it will convert the time you are in to local time. So if you order “7:30” in the app for a delivery in eastern time zone, but your phone is in central time, it will convert that request to 8:30 without warning. There is no way to edit the delivery time once you place the order other than to cancel. It tells you to call the restaurant about the order, but the restaurant has nothing to do with this. Easy and great
Sure, depending on what the restaurant supplies as a menu you have to guess here and there, but generally this app is fantastically easy and useful. Say goodby to being on hold and grouchy people who answer the phone--just order online with this app and the tip is included so the bag is just handed off at delivery. Only 1-2 issues over the last few yeas, when a restaurant took an order and just before it closed (and they should have called me to say they could not deliver) but that is nothing to gripe about it was the restaurant's fault. Multiple ways to search make it fun and easy. I'm a fan.

Don’t get the membership
So I placed my typical order that I’d get when working every week. Normally the food arrives on time and hot. Not today. The food arrives 40 min late and cold. When asking customer support for assistance I’m told they can only provide $10 credit to the account to use within 30 days. I would’ve at least liked the credit to be refunded back to my original form of payment. So we pay $10 a month for seamless plus subscription only to get your food delivered late and cold then just to be handed a $10 credit. After two years I have canceled my membership and will be stopping my use of this service. After experiencing a number of issues with recent orders, and speaking with Seamless customer service, this company does not take any responsibility for problems that arises while using their service. They only provide condescending answers while providing no assistance to the issue. Has declined in quality since the GrubHub merger
The app itself has a lot of issues, when there’s an issue - hall of mirrors menu options, 2 different ways to do nothing about it, etc. To be fair the customer care team is reasonably helpful when you can finally get in touch with them and prompt with refunds. There is also a weird thing going on in NYC where there are multiple vendors offering slightly different takes on a main ingredient at the same address, that turns out to be a single deli or counter service bakery. No Way to Report App Problem
Normally if I have an issue with an order, it’s because of the driver or restaurant and Seamless fixes it. In this case, a bug in the app caused the order to be wrong, but the app doesn’t give me a way to report it. So the restaurant will probably get penalized for Seamless’ mistake. Specifically, I ordered a burger that I order regularly through the app. No edits, just reordered as usual. But it was made with no bun. The receipt I received from the restaurant shows the auto-printed receipt as requesting no bun, but that’s not how I submitted it and it’s not reflected that way in the order

I used to love Seamless,but alas no more
Seamless/Grubhub was always my go-to and swore by it! Sadly is it getting worse and worse. The variety of quality restaurants keeps getting worse and worse. The app is hard to navigate and not user-friendly. Leading to a bad client experience because Seamless is giving priority to paid advertising to places like McDonalds over helping the client find what they are searching for. And worst of all,, it is full of hidden or confusing fees meaning you put in an order for $40 and you can find your self paying close to half of that again in fees and taxes. Poor customer service
The seamless driver delivered the completely incorrect order from a completely different restaurant. The 1st customer service Operator was barely understandable and needed to repeat statements so I could understand her. Her resolution was to refund the order. End of story. I ordered the food so it would arrive when my wife got home from work. Second time this incident occurred. Moral of the story, choose wisely which app you order through since the customer service of seamless has completely deteriorated. Again, this is the second time dealing with their customer service. App is great, but if you like actually eating, use Uber Eats.
So, while the app is well organized, you will *constantly* have delivery issues or simply not receive orders because their system and vendors are not properly connected- so for instance, you’ll often be able to place orders when the restaurants are closed, and will wait 45 min to an hour before you realize something is wrong… and after a certain point, a $10 credit (only if you pay monthly for Seamless+!) won’t cover your frustration- or hunger. I’ve had this happen twice in one night. At least with Uber Eats, deliveries are reliably tracked and restaurants don’t appear which you can’t order

Safer than Uber Eats
I have always been an Uber Eats customer and have preferred it in the past over other apps. Uber Eats seemed to always have more options for restaurants and more up to date gratuities. However, recently I have had several issues with drivers and feeling safe. Uber did not handle/address the situation in a manner that had the safety of the customer as a priority. I had decided to pause from delivery services for now. But was just given a Grubhub/seamless gift certificate. Changed for the worse
Seamless used to be great for having something ready at the door on long work days. The drivers used to be good natured. But unfortunately, post-Covid has changed that. There’s suddenly been a rash of drivers who: steal the food, claim to have mistakenly left it at the wrong door, drop the incorrect order off.. I even had an experience where the bag was dropped off sopping wet with the contents rendered inedible. Fees are too high
This is a good service, but the fees seem to e high. There was a pandemic relief program that helped restaurants and delivery people, but customers are already used to feeling overcharged by the company that public perception that the company overcharges didn’t change. I’m not sure how going public was supposed to help this sort of business, it should be managed with a client/customer-centric model, meaning minimal margins, as opposed to the 30% it was used to keeping.
