Unusable without travel ID
Previous versions allowed you to use the app without the need to log in. This is no longer possible, which basically renders the app useless. As a former star alliance gold member, I find this evolution very regrettable. I’ll need to rely on browser check-in moving forward. And that after teaching a senior parent how to use the app. It’s a shame!

Sell Discover
Well, Lufthansa is a phenomenal airline… Discover is not… NOT! From check-in to boarding to the airplane it is simply not Lufthansa quality. Sell it or raise it up. Thank goodness the Lufthansa personnel at the airport know what to do with Discover even if they can’t do it because that’s the only reason anyone knows where to go or what to do….

Paid extra for seats. Didn’t get them
I paid extra for two seats in an exit row by the window and I’m neither in an exit row, nor near a window. Could be worse because yesterday they had us in separate rows. I did tell the person at the counter in Rome but the best she could do was get us in adjoining seats. Don’t remember how much I paid extra for this, but lesson learned that Lufthansa is not that great. Sticking to Finn air next time

App does not show same screens as shown
The App is completely different from what is shown here in screenshots. The App no longer has Filter option, which makes it time consuming to find a flight on Lufthansa flights only. There used to be an option to see seat availability when booking. That is no longer available either regardless of class fare. Why would I want to even go through the booking if I can’t see if seats are next to each other, near by or not? I don’t get why airlines do this in their Apps. Show available seats. It’s not that hard and should not be a secret.

Bugs need fixing, iphone 15 user: (1) profile entry data form has input fields hanging below bottom of the screen (2) “dialcode”, not sure what that means, i think you mean “telephone prefix”, (3) US telephone number doesnt fill in correct US format. For example xxx-xxxx … it shows as Germany format xxx xxx x (4) I have a “Jr” suffix on my passport. But when I opened my Lufthansa account it didntprompt for any suffix. Now the app doesnt allow me to provide SURNAME JR as my passport reflects. (5) App kicks up errrors when using NordVPN

Fails to live up to Lufthansa standards
Lufthansa‘s operation at New York JFK is a disaster dem start to finish. It began with a completely inefficient check-in process that took more than an hour and 20 minutes to drop a bag off, even though I had checked in prior to arrival. And when I arrived at the counter, I encountered rude and completely unhelpful service. Then the airplane was delayed by more than 30 minutes because the crew could not get bags loaded or the plane prepared in time. This is probably one of the worst airline apps ever! It constantly gives you the run around, and you often can’t access the things you need to access. Flying the Star Alliance? Forget it! Integration with United Airlines is worthless! It’s 2026 Lufthansa, get with the times! Even the personnel in the Lufthansa lounges say that the app is terrible, and has been for years. Very satisfied customer but…..
I have always had an amazing experience with Lufthansa and that’s why I keep coming back even for my leisure travel! My trip this time was from Joburg to Frankfurt arrived early hours of the morning at around 5am! It was a great flight… amazing crew! My only concern is the inflight entertainment is very cumbersome with the remote controller locked into the side of the seat and having to open and close to operate it! I like flying this airline. The problem I had today is while we fly business class we have to a bus to the tarmac where the plane is located and then it’s a free-for-all trying to get off the bus and onto the plane. Wish you could have better process for that part of the travel.

Constant errors
The app has constant errors when booking. Or it just gets frozen in search cycle. And there is no app support so there is no way to let them know their app is not working. When you keep searching for the same flights because of the apps errors, the dynamic pricing algorithms increase the price. It looks like the apps errors are designed to make you pay more.

App is Not Secure
I accidentally added someone else’s booking number under My Flights in the app, when I intended to only check the flight status. This cannot be corrected anywhere in the app to disassociate the booking from my account - once a booking has been added, it can’t be removed. It’s unclear how I can add someone else’s booking under My Flights and manage all flight details including upgrades, fees, and cancelling the flight - especially since my name does not match the name on the booking. After calling their support line asking for help, I was redirected to a technical support number that’s not open

Trash App
This app is so bad. Nothing works. You can ever find what you need, when you do find it, it doesn’t work, they give you confirmation numbers, but then expect you to use ticket numbers to look up reservations, which they never send you, and to make it even worse, they brag about how “great” their app is; just infuriating. This is bar far the worst travel app I have used in the last 20 years. If they weren’t a partner with United, I would avoid them like the plague. They’re so bad, I’m considering abandoning my status on United just to avoid them.

Impossible to rebook with this app
Having used this app for half a dozen flights I can say with confidence it will not work to help you rebook your flight unless you are incredibly patient with buggy software and can afford to pay “pending” charges multiple times before finally completing the process. The app usually won’t successfully rebook even simple date changes, and if you also need to change the route it forces you into a chat bot screen that is so buggy you can barely use the dropdown menu to select the airport because the touch interface is vertically misaligned by a whole row…

Instrumental Boarding
The Lufthansa staff at DFW International airport were fantastic. They did everything they could to help me board with my musical instrument on a full flight, going above and beyond by making sure it fit in the overhead compartment and giving it extra padding for the ride. Mr. Malk, Santoshi, and Maria were so kind and accommodating through the whole process! I am beyond grateful for their help.

Slow, Error Prone, Bad UI
I cannot believe that this app won any awards ever. It is extremely slow. Almost everything. I’ve tried to do ends in an error and I have to start over two or three times. Nothing is intuitive. The interface is confusing at best and at times alarming. If you buy tickets in a group and are looking to check in for just yourself, you have to delete people from the group which makes it appear like you are deleting their reservation. also, did I mention it slow? Did I mention it’s error prone? This is the worst airline and travel app I have ever used.

Worst travel app I've gotten
I physically cannot deal with this app, it is probably the worst app I've ever encountered, not just for travel, literally in general. When trying to log in I have to do it multiple times, when sending emails it takes around an hour to receive the email, when trying to log in it didn't give me a keyboard to type in responses to log in, so that made the log in process physically impossible. Get rid of that badge or whatever you have when it shows up on the loading screen, this app gives my entire family including me extreme frustrations and it's entirely unusable to me and I have a flight in 2

I’m already regretting not choosing Delta or Virgin for this trip. The app is frustratingly unresponsive, and the support staff hasn't been helpful. Update: The return flight experience has been equally disappointing. The support team is extremely slow, and it takes an unreasonable amount of time to input even basic information. Honestly, high school students could handle this more efficiently. Lesson learned, I’ll be sticking with Delta or Virgin next time, even if the upcost is high. I’ve used about every major airline app there is, and they are almost always just okay. But this app takes away ANY worry you might ever have for traveling. A clear overview of your entire journey, ridiculously fast emails when things change so you never miss an update, and just an amazing user interface; by far my favorite airline app. Makes me want to give Lufthansa more of my business just because they care so much about the app.

CDG-FRA BUSINESS
After one delay now we have a second delay because someone didn’t show up and they have to take off their package so we may not connect on time in Frankfurt. Never mind, the couple days everything in the lounge going back-and-forth at least five times have just come on board. That being said my first few of my seat wascrumbs all over the floor and on the chair as well as sticky stuff on the chair. I’m not used to getting into a dirty aircraft anywhere in the world. This is a first.
