New And Abysmal
literally everything functional about the old Fitbit app (which i paid for for years) has been eliminated. cardio load was a valuable daily metric and is now an unreachable weekly percentage; this default cannot be modified. i asked the infuriating AI Coach how to restore my old setting and was invited to embark on a “brief 5-7 chat” about my fitness goals. i do not want to chat with AI about my fitness goals. i do not want to be forced to rely on my phone any more than i already do; unfortunately, this app is intended to pair with the screen less FitBit air tracker (which i will not be bu

Switch from Fitbit
Google bought FitBit and earlier this week sunset the FitBit app for Google Health. This app is awful. I honestly don’t know how to even explain it because the app makes no sense. I have a FitBit to track my calories, food intake, exercise and sleep. I would imagine that’s the case for most FitBit users. Google Health makes it hard to do any of that. The dashboard now has 20-25 different metrics you have to look at and it’s not editable at all. There are things like a “readiness” score. I don’t know what’s factored into this, but I can’t imagine how that score is helpful. If I have a low readi

13 year Fitbit user, no choice but to leave
This app update is jaw droppingly, stunningly bad. Google took a great product and killed it. The new layout makes it impossible to see at. A glance, in all one place, that metrics that matter to me and that I look at in conjunction with each other on a daily basis. My historical data is gone. Trend lines are gone. Historical averages now are gone. More than a decade of history of weight, BMI, etc., with trend lines which were extremely important to me, gone. Unwanted AI ‘coaching’ fills 2/3 of the screen now. Or, if you turn it off, as I did, you look at a mostly empty screen. Usability g

Bunk at best
Google absolutely rushed this product out and forgot some very basic functions that have cascading impact effects on the data. Issues I’ve had with no resolution so far: 1- inconsistent sleep tracking. When I wake up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, it ends my blog and assumes that I’m up for the day and then it does not begin recording when I go back to sleep. This means that it’s showing only four or five hours of sleep even after I slept 8 to 9 this then affect how the AI coach assesses stress levels and many other things there’s no way to really amend the sleep without jus

It used to be good
My first fitness tracker was a Fitbit in like, 2017. I loved it, wore the heck out of it until it died. A friend of mine gave me her old Apple Watch and while I liked it, the health app was nothing compared to the Fitbit app. So when I could afford it, I went back to Fitbit. It truly was the app that brought me back—it literally had everything I wanted in a very user friendly interface. Last week my app finally underwent the promised forced update to the Google Health app. And it’s so so bad. UI is incredibly unfriendly with the info being in small bits across three screens instead of just a

Was better before the update
I was using my Fitbit to help lose weight and keep an eye on a few vital signs, log my intake. The updated app is meh. I liked it much better before. It’s the same information just spread out on different tabs with duplicate junk, and the hourly movement visual is gone. I really liked that feature. Yes the watch still says move but there’s no daily information. It felt like an accomplishment to look back and see the hours throughout the day of activity. The dietary guide on the old app showed all micronutrients, this one only shows a few but has all listed. I would have never thought I had a

Jack of all trades master of none
I have used a Fitbit for as long as they have been available. This new app. Covers many areas of my health metrics, much more so than the previous app. Unfortunately, the complexity of the organization of these metrics leaves much to be desired. Finding the metrics visible on my Fitbit screen should be instantly obvious upon opening the app. Having to search through several screens to find my cardio active minutes is not good. The graphs in general are too small with no way to zoom in on the data, time wise or otherwise. No sense having a graph if there is no way to interpret the data. I think

Switch to Google Health is Awful
I’ve been using the FitBit app since 2014. It had everything I needed - steps, daily step streaks, hourly reminders to walk, heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep, and weight. I am not a person who exercises (runs) but rather works on improving via steps, hourly steps, and resting heart rate (via walking). The change to Google Health has been awful. The sleep data doesn’t give me a score anymore and I’m unable to delete naps (errors, as I’m just sitting still and not napping). The interface is terrible, as all the information I’m interested in is squished to a tiny portion of the top of th

Missing features from the old Fitbit app
After the Google rebrand of the Fitbit app, it’s missing the hourly activity section. Luckily my Fitbit still reminds me to move around but sometimes I can’t or miss it. I used to go into the old Fitbit app to see if I met my activity goal for that hour. The new Google app doesn’t give me the ability to look at that data and of course I’m unable to edit the goals. Hopefully this is an over sight and this will be added back in a future update. The app itself is a lot more clunky to use. I miss being about to scroll and see everything with more detail than what’s being shown now. Now I have to

Google Health Changes
Some of the updates to this as the new Google Health app are nice, but there are several bugs that I’m hoping will get fixed soon for it to be usable. Most of these should be pretty apparent to a human just quickly going through the app, which makes me wonder to what degree they’re relying on AI to develop and test this app. Overall, the UI is nice, the UX is worse, and there are obvious bugs. A quick list of obvious issues includes adding a new weight-in defaults the weight field to 150lbs with a scroll select instead of defaulting to your last weight, adding food prevents you from selecting

A downgrade
The latest update has effectively broken the app and made my Fitbit useless. The new user interface is difficult to navigate, poorly organized, and I have found that many of the metrics I used to monitor and care about are gone. The food and nutrition tracking feature has lost the custom foods that I took the time to enter myself over the past several years. Those are gone. Tracking macros is much more difficult now. Finding summaries for your total nutritional intake for the day is a feature that feels buried and difficult to find. Going back in time to look at your historical entries, is cum

Google Health is Absolute Garbage
So so so disappointed with the new app changes. I’m a long time Fitbit user, but Google has absolutely trashed the Fitbit brand and made the app nearly unusable. There is no option to log calories on the app; I used to not have to select a specific food and would just log calories on stuff I already knew, but now it forces you to pick a food item. The app is hard to navigate, the screens are too busy and hard to read or quickly see my stats for the day. I spent 3 full minutes clicking around and trying to see where my calories burned for Monday was in the app. I was gonna upgrade to a differen

Change from Fitbit app to Google Health- mixed reaction
I was surprised to open my iPhone and find my Fitbit app missing. After searching all my icons I finally found the one for Google Health and realized the switch had been made. A heads up would have been appreciated. Going through the process of setting it up there were some changes I like - like the graphics on the opening screen. It is easier to view and access the area I want to open. The section that monitors sleep is an improvement. It seems to actually track sleep more accurately than previously on Fitbit. It is much more difficult for me to track food intake now than on the old app. I al

Horrible Update
The overhaul from the legacy Fitbit app to Google Health is a downgrade in every way. The new UI is unimpressive, unresponsive, and unintuitive. Everything has moved around, making for horrible UX. I tried giving it a chance, but quite simply it looks bad. I genuinely cannot find a single thing that I like in the new app compared to the legacy version. If I could revert to it I could. The old UI was more user-friendly and better to look at. On top of the experience, the overhauled app is beyond buggy. The sleep score and sleep tracking just doesn’t work anymore for me. Huge mistake updating to Google health
I strongly disliked the last Fitbit app update when Google took over, and this change to Google health is simply a nightmare. I am shocked and appalled at how bad the interface is, and disgusted at the attempt at forcing an AI “health coach”. Gross that you can’t opt out without a prompt asking if you’re SURE you don’t want some AI bs. That aside, the home screen for this is just atrocious. Why is my health data so small? Why is it more difficult than ever to arrange it the way I’d like to see it? Half of the app isn’t even properly clickable - I am trying to get to familiar pages with no luck

If I wanted a second job managing your AI, I would have applied for one.
I am writing this review with an immense amount of irony. I am a paid Gemini subscriber, and up until recently, I was a happy Fitbit Premium subscriber. I clearly see the value in AI. But here is the thing: If I wanted my fitness tracking and my LLM subscriptions to merge, I would have asked for it. Instead, the new Google Health app has forcibly shoved AI into every single component of the interface with absolutely no way to permanently opt out. It has completely obliterated a layout that worked perfectly fine for years. My personalized, carefully chosen metrics? Either buried under layers of

Horrible merger
The switch to Google health is horrible and was clearly made by people who don’t use fitness trackers but just wanted an excuse to push the Gemini AI. The worst update has been with food tracking. It’s incredibly cumbersome and glitchy to enter food-it automatically defaults to breakfast no matter what, it’s difficult to change measurements/serving, custom foods have been wiped, it doesn’t show recent foods anymore, and you have to manually delete any errors (which is often thanks to the above). You also don’t see how many calories you consumed on the main screen anymore because it subtracts a

I hate this app
I’d give it zero stars if that was an option. Why would you change so many of the good functions of the Fitbit app to bring us NOTHING in return?? The worst part about this whole change is the food section. The search function is awful, and it doesn’t display anything about the foods your adding except calorie count. No protein, carbs, fats that I can find. What’s the point in that?? And you can’t create custom foods??? Why??? How can I meal prep ANYTHING and track it?? This app just got way less useful for me and that’s so frustrating as I don’t want to use two apps to keep track of my steps

After 8 years, I’m done
I was unhappy with Fitbit all throughout my pregnancy since they won’t even acknowledge that pregnancy exists- but I had made it work by hiding and unselecting all the health goals. The main number one thing I track is my sleep. Today, Fitbit combined the app with Google Health, completely changed the entire design, and overwrote all my recent data. It’s completely worthless. The update said it would be a big change, but it also promised “all your data will still be there!” That is a flat out lie. Because of the nursing and night wake ups, I’ve had to manually input my sleep data for 3 months

used to be amazing, now it doesn’t work
i loved my fitbit and loved this app before it stopped working, likely because google got its hands on it. i used to be able to track a workout on my watch so it could collect heart rate data, number of steps, etc, and at the end i could just stop the workout, sync my watch to the app, and have all my stats transferred so i could look at them later. i could set goals for each of my stats, and see the circles fill up in the app as i reached them. i can’t do these things anymore. the goals can’t be reset or accessed at all, the circles don’t display my progress anymore, none of my workouts have

Charge 6 Screen Wake stuck on Auto even after switch to manual - UPDATE
UPDATE - This problem apparently fixed itself after I wrote the below review. After trying all options multiple times (syncing, app restart, phone restart, soft and hard reset of charge 6), I just gave up. Then, sometime during the next day or two I noticed that the problem was gone. I had changed absolutely nothing and I hadn’t noticed any new updates. It just started working properly again. Hopefully it continues to work. I’m updating my review from one star to three because this issue hasn’t really been addressed by the developer. They did reach out to me but they simply told me to sync t

Latest update is full of glitches
I have had this inspire in some version for years. I don’t know what happened recently, but the latest update is terrible. It’s full of glitches and weird changes. For instance, as soon as you start doing anything it detects as exercise, it changes over into tracking your pace and time, and you can no longer see what time it is or the number of steps you were taking. If you want to check that you have to go into the app. Or scroll down and tell it to cancel tracking (which takes abt 3 different selections to get to). keeping the app open will not continue to update. I have to close the app ou

Excellent until Google purchased Fitbit
Was excellent when it was a stand alone fitness tracker & app. Now it is no longer flawless or an efficient app since Google bought it. Recently I transferred the info from the tracker to my Google account so I could keep all the years of my data. However, now that I connected the app to my Google account, the app doesn’t function like it did before connecting. After connecting, the app no longer updates my sleep stats immediately. Takes extended time to show the sleep if it shows at all. Main reason for the tracker was to see sleep info. I Fell in love with the app and all the info it showed.

Fitbit Watch > Apple Watch
Fitbit over Apple every day. Fitbit is more accurate with my sleep tracking and includes my naps. I track my steps with Fitbit, but for some reason the app Steps page never loads. (Distance and Energy Burned pages with weekly/monthly/yearly tabs also do not load.). Weekly progress report emails help full that gap where information for my weekly steps doesn’t load into one screen. I appreciate the notes like today’s “recovery requires rest days” and “take it easy,” reminding me to take a break and hit a lower target cardio score. Daily readiness scores are very accurate for how I am feelin

New update today Versa 2 device is unresponsive Not happy !!! 8/2/25
Edited again to say I did an update last week and another today! My Versa 2 screen was randomly not being responsive but after today’s update it won’t do anything. I’ve tried resetting the watch, deleting the app and turning my phone off and on. Nothing works!!! Old review which fixed itself. Ever since I updated my stats are off! It’s not as simple as the older version and harder to read and navigate. Don’t understand why they mess things up that were working just fine before. Also the time change last night really messed up my sleep schedule and it won’t let me fix it. I’ve tried all

Not quite
My Inspire 3 does basic step counting superbly compared to my previous fitness watches. But I got this device mostly for sleep tracking. Usually it does okay counting my sleep. In fact it’s uncanny knowing when I turn in: within about five minutes. But it’s rubbish knowing when I’ve woken up. I have to sync the watch for it to pick up my waking. But then it goes utterly off track about 10% of the time and claims I’ve gotten only a few hours when the actual number is over six. I’m still trying to figure out how it calculates the “sleep score.” The numbers have no clear connection to duration or

Used to be AMAZING
Newest update: the most recent update removed a fantastic feature for health statistics. I miss it. However, you didn’t fix the demotivating quirk with calories getting subtracted at the end of the day. It has nothing to do with someone working out close to midnight (like it was explained in a google search). Also, it is not shifted to the next da (like it was explained in a google search). Can you improve the app instead of removing features? The rating is probably more like three ½ stars. I have obsessed over my Fitbit for years and it was incredibly helpful. It would be great if it did what it is supposed to do
I’m not sure whether my issues are related to the app and syncing or the hardware. I’ll just tell you what is happening. I’ve bought 4 Fitbits over the years. They have all had issues. Three of these were Charge versions and one is still working. I liked the Charge better than the Versa. I switched to Versa to get a larger screen. My current one is a Versa 3. It only periodically vibrates when it is time to walk so I set that as a reminder on Alexa. It only periodically announces the number of steps you need to get 250 and rarely tells me when I am complete. Now it adds steps or deletes them.

Versa2 durable
I have had my versa for 3+ years. It maintains a charge for close to 36 hours and I have to slip it back into the cradle to get it back up to almost full. I have replaced the wrist band a couple of times but those are easy to find online or at Walmart. The features I use are steps heart rate phone notifications and sleep scores. The sleep and oxygen used to sync and work dependably the first 2 years but now they have to sync daily to even capture data reasonably. The local weather works if I sync the device before I look at the temp and that is a pain. 75% useful service is what I get
