Horrible Customer Service
App keeps on crashing on my IPhone XR done all of the troubleshooting nothing fixes it, I try calling them good luck getting ahold of their X1 department through Robinhood. Nobody can schedule a payment over the phone or anything you can only make payments through this app. I explain it doesn’t work and these useful people on customer service tell me oh I’ll be reached out through email. Still not resolved days later.

Shady payment practices
Payments routinely take WEEKS (not exaggerating) to process; they take money from your account and you practically have to beg them to credit it.
You then have to contact Customer Service via email (there’s no number), where they pretty much give you a scripted answer that has nothing to do with the question at hand. A payment gets made, over a week later it’s still not credited, Customer Service then says it can take up to 4 business days (the payment was made nearly 4 weeks ago at this point). AVOID AT ALL COST!

Issue with the latest application update - removes bonus multipliers.
Was prompted with an upgrade application prompt and after updating to this latest version my monthly 3x bonus which resets in the 30th of the month was reset to a lowest bonus I’ve seen of 1.5 prior to the update it was 2x points. Also the weekly bonus categories ex. Gas, grocery shopping, etc. are now all missing. I’ve emailed tech support via the app and haven’t received any response back.

Skip this CC. Changed their offering, poor customer service
They recently substantially changed their rewards program for the worse, and it’s always been a pain to redeem rewards for their full value.
And, their customer service has been pretty frustrating to work with over the years. Not a single time I asked for something that other credit card companies had given me did X1 help. The help option is to text them and they reply two business days later, which is not helpful for urgent requests, particularly when X1 blocks a purchase without explanation that you actually need to make.

Up until November of 2025, my account offers 2x points back and bonus categories each week for even more cash back. As of the current update, it’s only 1.5x back and the bonus categories are gone. It’s time to go get a new card issuer.

I used to love this card and it was my go to card for everything. Unfortunately since Robinhood acquired the company they do the same shady stuff what Robinhood has been doing. Constantly changing the terms, credit limits, points value etc. customer support answers back after many hours sometimes a day, this card is dead better go to another company.

I used to love this card.
The lack of live customer service, and “security features” are very disappointing. My card is blocked and they required very invasive measures to verify my identity. I complied and my account is still locked! Also, when I had an issue and went to dispute they told me they notify merchants that I disputed something once. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend.

Customer Service is Non Existent
How do you run a credit card company with only part-time customer service? Second time I have traveled and had the card shut off. Since they don’t seem to operate 24 seven like other legitimate card companies, you cannot have the card turned back on until they get around to it. Will be closing card, don’t bother using, terrible choice.

Not had any issues
I’ve been a card holder since shortly before they left ‘beta’. I’ve really never had an issue. I’ve had to contact support a few times for questions regarding promos or my account, and they have been helpful and decent. Having the text chat is super nice as it is fast. I have not had any issues with credit limits or billing after the sell to Robinhood either.
I’m not the biggest fan of how they monetize the product now. For example, you have to pay monthly to have an auth user with access to the app and credit reporting… otherwise they only get a card This isn’t really BAD, as it is on par

They do not care about you at all. Do not use this card.
Card was approved with a high limit of $32,500 and stay unused for two years. Started using it over the last 6-8 months and I thought it was great. Bonuses, the app is clean, decent points, quick updates, etc.
Out of the blue, they email me and say we’ve reduced your credit limit to $5k because you’re not utilizing your full line.
85% reduction because I’m not maxing out my card each month? Since when do you need to or it’s a good idea to max out your card each month?

Second-rate operation
I had my account closed due to inactivity after about 13 months. That seems premature, but it’s fine. There are many, many better rewards options out there. Once my account closed, I was unable to remove my bank information from the app. Customer “service” said this was so they could credit back my points as cash back. I do not have enough points for cash back (less than $1 in value). So they essentially ended our business relationship & they are refusing to delete my bank info. Account Closure without notice!!!
X1 closed my account without any warning or notice due to “inactivity”!!! I kept zero balance on this card for just a few months to boost my credit and they closed my account, and customer service won’t open it. Absolutely terrible experience with this company. I have 820 FICO score and they closed my account. I don’t recommend this horrible company to anyone. Go with BofA, CITI, and Chase.

Terrible company
This is one of the worst credit cards I’ve ever had. I have an above 700 score and I literally never had a problem with the 8 cards I currently have. I just used this credit card in May and they sent me an email tonight telling me they closed the card due to inactivity. No warning or anything but because I went 3 months without using it they closed it. I will never refer anyone to this company again. They’re terrible at communication and customer service.

This “company” will close your account without any type of warning. Points hard to access
The rewards accumulation system they set up is great, but cashing those points out is another story. You can only cash them out on purchases you make to a specific list of retailers with your X1 card, so you can’t cash them out for cash or for general purchases made outside of those retailers. If the purchase with a retailer exceeds the points you have, you also can’t apply points to a portion of the purchase e.g I can’t apply $50 worth of points to a $200 purchase with Home Depot.

EASY TO GOT SCAM AND WONT RESOLVE
I got scammers that by some how got my info of my cards and use it until they max out. Luckily I locked when the first one go through and I contacted their customer service and GOT ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE ANSWER AND RESPONSE. Payment cannot be made through the app
When I click the Make a Payment CTA on the Home Screen of the app it loops me back to the same screen over and over again. If I click the icon on the left top corner to make a payment it does the same. I am at a loss on how I can pay t hi s card now that I am no longer on auto pay. Also, I attempted to set up auto pay again and keep getting looped back to the Home Screen.

Absolutely must have for everyone
This card is a god send. To be honest, I do not use it for my regular purchases, but this comes in soooo handy when signing up for subscriptions, for free trails, for one time charges etc. so much peace of mind and I don’t have to worry about the “breakage economy” anymore. Big middle fingers to all companies that count of people forgetting to cancel their subscriptions or the free trials.

They will absolutely close your account if they get jealous of you making lots of points. To the person that said “this is the Apple of cards”…? I don’t think so buddy. Apple, or any other ecosystem/service provider for that matter, will NEVER intrude into peoples personal lives. They don’t have to! They have better things to do. But not X1 my friend. X1 will ABSOLUTELY monitor, intrude, and JUDGE you, and SEEK a reason to pick on you… close your account, and then tell you it was part of the T&C…. specifically if you’ve done some great work around points haha :) and they will find that reason

Stay away if you need it to reliably work
I used to LOVE the convenience and functionality of the X1 card. Especially the ability to super easily create virtual and temporary card numbers in the app. I attached many important services and subscriptions to this card.
Then my experience changed. I woke up to my charges getting declined. I went to the app to see what could be wrong. “Your account is on hold. You must provide additional security information”. No text message asking me to confirm a recent charge, no phone call about a security concern. Just 100% shut down of all my card numbers and account.
