The new balance tab is super confusing, previously perfect. Shows three numbers to explain what’s coming Monday vs after that, no idea how to read it anymore. We started using stripe in February without issue. Randomly in May, Stripe said we were receiving too much money and put a 25% hold on our acct, we submitted the last three months of bank acct information, invoices, estimates and completed projects with never having had a dispute in three years and they then put the hold on until July. Wow! Had a refund for my cx, stripe locked my profits for 10 days, support absolutely useless, was going back and forth with me, without providing any information that I have requested. Didn’t know how bad stripe was till I started using it. Started cause it’s the only way to accept payments through bluevine business acc. There’s literally no redoing or removing. You make an invoice and need to remake it, it’s stuck on your app/history forever. Same with customers. Accidentally make one mistake and ofc you just make a new customer and delete old one. It’s convenient -ish
It’s convenient to be able to offer direct payments with a debit card and it go straight to your bank, however withdrawing the amounts is a hassle. Instant withdraw can’t be enabled, and the processing fee amount taken out of payments you receive can be a bit much honestly. Payments can take a while to transfer to your bank, and there’s still a fee. I would understand the fee a bit more if it was an instant transfer but it’s not. And there should be a limit as far as how much the payment has to be for a fee to apply. For example, if the payment received is under $50, then no fee. More than $

Every time I try to do anything with Stripe, from logging in to updating my account information, there is a glitch and I have to start over. (There are a dozen steps to get into your account, and none of them work. This place is a straight fraud. I am a legit standing LLC business who does big deals with the government. I get that usually any transaction service will take a fee but no where near as much as Stripe does and especially for them to literally have no customer service department… Good luck trying to get any issues resolved! They also put a “2-3 business day hold” on your funds that never gets processed within that time as it’s usually the 4th day so that is definitely falsified information leaving you constantly checking their app to see if they will finally “allow” you to withdraw your money… just to find out you then have to wait an additional 7-14 days for a payout!!!

Okay for checking balances
My experience with the app is mixed. It’s been good for checking the status of payments and taking mobile payments. But I’ve learned I can’t trust it to process refunds correctly. I recently submitted a partial refund for a client, and it seemed to have worked correctly, but when I checked later, it had pushed the same transaction twice. Support insists I must have requested two refunds so basically it’s my problem. I’ll have to be desperate before I trust it again for anything other than checking balances.

I wish I had read the reviews about people not receiving their funds. I was paid by a client and it went into my balance immediately. However, once I initiated to send to my bank acct there was suddenly a 7 day waiting period for it. On day 7 I magically received noticed that my acct details failed. I have since added two different accts of mine that were verified by my bank to be correct and authorized to receive payout. I had someone come to my shop and buy two in person sales. She left with the things and then claimed on capital one that she didn’t receive them. I had the hardest time getting into my stripe account since I had to change my phone provider and had no access to my old number. I opened account in August and collected about $30k in customer payment thru credit card. At the time my account went thru multiple verification before I could withdraw money. It delayed us getting our money but I understood that financial diligence is required by law. In October we collected 60k more. Poor Support
Im at my limit with this app. Every-time someone pays me it holds my money and requires some sort of information I have given them a hundred times. Good luck getting your money it can take weeks because support is slow. The icing on the cake is the fact they have no # and barely any live people to handle these issues. You sit and wait for an email back for days IF they decide to even answer. They take HUNDREDS to Thousands of dollars out in fees. The google verification with the Authenticator app on your Stripe app is the most diabolical and frustrating experience I’ve ever had to go thru with verifying a payment account. Customer service is awful
The first time I used stripe it worked great and now I’ve had two more customers pay using it and now the payments are on hold and I can’t get a hold of anyone when I try calling. They say I’m not allowed to use the phone. Call my phone number does not have access to it. There’s no reason to allow next day funds available in the beginning and all of a sudden when I’ve had zero complaints now put my money on hold I will no longer be using stripe. Stripe has been an absolute nightmare. Here’s a few reasons why I think this is a big concern and wouldn’t recommend: Once payment has been received by customers it takes a few business days for the funds to be “usable” which means I pay for shipping and other fees out of pocket for customers. I did not know this at first. I had thought it would be similar to other payment services. For instance, PayPal allows for the funds to be radially available the moment a customer makes payment. Great… when it works
Update: “emails are typically responded to within 24 hours.” The email that they responded with was almost fully a copy and paste from their support page that does absolutely nothing to help resolve the issue. So, I’ve been using stripe for about 4 years now, and it’s great, until they randomly say your password isn’t working and then lock you out of the system so you can’t track your payments and there’s no way to contact support without submitting a claim that will take who knows how long, all the while your payments are locked up. Stay away if you’re a smaller business
Several months ago Stripe decided after ONE of my customers disputed a charge (which I won because I had done the work and had a video of the finished product) that they should hold 25% of my future charges in a reserve account for 60 days. Not one additional customer had disputed a charge during the 60 days and they still made me jump through hoops to get back to normal. You can provide them with all your business documentation and they will still close down your account. They don’t notify you of any issues until you process a payment.
