Extortion!
The app charges 1.10 credit per text which is not an issue, but in what world does 32 words qualify as 3 texts? That’s just extortion, they want to charge you as much as possible for as little texts as possible. They also intentionally send your message multiple times sometimes even when you click send once, just so they can charge you extra credits. And the video Adverts can be annoying. One should get Ad canceling automatically by buying credits. Makes no sense to purchase credits then purchase Ads cancellation seperately.

Text not working
They give me whatever called “30 credit points “ but didn’t even send a text message! , then I paid purchased about $5.50 = 200 points nevertheless I am still not able to receive a single text message, no phone support! And I sent support email they gets back after 2 days asking me more information about the number I am trying to text…. Now after 2 more days,[ I have received email saying ‘ we sent your request for special assistance] for sure my $5.50 worth of points has gone. This is the most ridiculous app ever.

The volume is low. Freezes, other issues
The volume is very low even on speaker phone. That happened even in my brand new phone. It Freezes at times, and when you want to answer a call or to hang out a call, and the phone has gone on lock screen, then it asks you to unlock the phone first before hanging out !!

Keep errors
I’ve been using Dingtone for more than two years. Have you recently noticed it has a lot of issues? One issue is that it keeps disconnecting or connecting to someone else’s number. Another problem is that when I try to press the numbers, it doesn’t work. I have to delete the app, update it, or reinstall it. When I talk with someone on the phone, it keeps disconnecting. I paid for this app, and I don’t know if all these errors need to be fixed. Otherwise, we’re just wasting time and money.

Unreliable service
For the past few days I’ve tried to call my Dingtone phone from multiple numbers to see if my voicemail greeting is set up. The rings sound very distorted and choppy and then the call is dropped without being able to answer, nor does it go to voicemail. I also get no alert on my phone that a call was even attempted. How can I use this for business if the calls don’t go through?

I am writing this review to warn others about a severe issue with fraudulent charges. This app charged my iTunes account for a phone number that was never delivered. The transaction showed an "error," yet the full amount was immediately deducted from my payment method. Furthermore, any credit you purchase within the app seems to be at high risk. I experienced my credit balance being drained overnight without any usage on my part. The service is unreliable, but their billing system is far too effective at taking money. Don’t get this if you plan to travel and use the number. Avoid themSo Dingtone asks you to verify your identity and despite doing it as per their very very poor customer service it still never worked and I was unable to receive calls in the US even though I signed up for that number elsewhere. I sent my verification for the US two weeks ago and two weeks afterwards they ask for it again .i now wasted the yearly subscription and will have to get a sly number. Updating that after two weeks the customer service cannot communicate what they want.

Cannot Dial a Number
UPDATE: I restored the app and was able to dial/call. But then the next day I was unable to enter numbers again. However, customer service told me to enter a number and save it to my contacts then pull it up from the app then dial as a workaround. Free to create an account but you can’t receive texts from anyone not using Dingtone. Actually, you can receive outside texts, but Dingtone won’t allow you to read them unless you pay. This app charges exorbitant amounts for credits to text and make phone calls. Then when you buy credits you have to buy a subscription to “own” a number. Customer service is horrible as well. Sometimes takes days to respond and they always want a screen shot even though it seems all of the issues are the same. Says I have a monthly subscription for a number, but was on a different account. No one could tell me how to switch accounts, and I couldn’t buy another number. Finally resolved issue after TWO weeks.

Feels like a scam
I was super excited to get this app for a cheap second phone and bought a number for a year. What I didn't see was that you make and receive calls based on credits, which I had no idea because you buy the number before any of that information is shared with you. I am using this as a business phone number, and this credit limit won't work out for me. I feel misled and lied to, like this is a scam.

The worst customer service. You can explain every detail and they won’t assist you without a screenshot. And they will say they don’t understand the issue you provide. They false advertise and you will receive the requirement to upgrade as soon as you select a number. You will be unable to receive a notification and read it because it will state your number expires in 15 minutes so lock in your number which requires you to upgrade to secure your selected number.

This app has no way to view missed calls or call history, so whether you answer in time or not, there’s no way to call or text back. I downloaded this app when my phone was disconnected and I had to make an emergency call to my boss. Was told this would be a good option. I didn't have the money for the paid version. Bought a USA number from them with a yearly recurring subscription. They immediately charged my Apple ID balance, and added the number to my account. They didn't ask for ANY identity verification. They also offered calls and SMS with the number. Neither worked. Also, the number itself got flagged when I tried to use it to open an IM app account.
