Turns “I Might Pass Out” Into “Let’s Go”
When I first tried running on my own, I pushed too hard and ended up clinging to a street lamppost, heaving and thinking I was going to puke and possibly pass out in the process. After that experience, a friend told me to try Couch to 5K. I’ve used this app since 2017, and with the ebbs and flows of life my jogging has definitely waxed and waned. Does not sync to Apple Fitness
Not bad. Not very good either. Bought it because it didn’t require a subscription - assumed it would sync to Apple Fitness/Health because I love closing my circles, but it does not do that. You have to have the Apple Fitness app running/open while this app is open as well, in order for the run workout to count towards your circles. Decided on requesting a refund and will try another running app that will sync to Apple Fitness.

Fixed my chronic injury problems
Started running about 5 years ago, but kept having to take extended breaks because of recurring injuries. First my IT band, then my ankle, then my knees and hips. Decided I wasn’t physically made for it and quit. Wanted to try and get back into running, but was really nervous. Found out I was almost definitely massively overdoing it, and trying to go from couch to 50K, skipping the 5K altogether. Helps you learn to run
I’ve never been good at running. In middle school, everybody could jog a mile straight no problem while I’d be getting yelled at for taking breaks. This app is AMAZING, and I was able to run my first mile after using it! If you’re on the fence about it, definitely buy it. You can listen to music with your music app while getting audio cues when to walk / jog / etc, it’s very easy to use and keeps track of your progress. I never review apps but I love this one so much haha.

I started this program to run my first 5K. I didn’t realize that it would be an amazing and effective weight loss app as well. It’s easy to use. Pairs flawlessly with my IPhone. Great to Have a Coach Again
I ran cross country and track in high school where it was wonderful to have a coach who planned and led workouts. This app does that by taking the guesswork out of building up your stamina. This reduces injury and increases fun. One strategy I’ve used that might help you: I’ve repeated workouts until my body feels ok with it (I have some residual injuries). Well worth it!

Really good, but not great.
As a former fitness professional who is returning to running after injury, this app does a great job of progressing someone from potato to runner … until week five that is. The jump is too much that week. I find it odd how the app makes incremental increases for the first four weeks but then in week five has you going from two 8s with a 5 minute walk to one 20 minute run. That’s a heck of a jump. Also, a three or five second countdown to begin the next interval would be a great improvement.

This app saved my life.
It's taken me more than 10 years of on/off starts to become proficient at jogging. I was just about as atrophied and out of shape as you could be. In fact, I've never really worked out or dieted in my whole life, with the results you might expect, but this app has always patiently been there to help me get back on the horse. You need to bring your phone with you..
I was hoping to be able to just load this app onto my Apple watch and use that on it’s own, like many other running apps let you do, but you have to bring your phone with you on the run. Misleading information on that aspect. While the prompts are helpful, trying to sign in to get a workout started is glitchy and frustrating. Wish I could get my money back honestly.

I was super skeptical about buying this app, i’m not a runner and haven’t been in over 6 years so I wasn’t sure if this app was going to be good for me. But you set your goals, your weight and how often you want to run and it’s been perfect! You can even pick your trainer (I love runicorn). Best Couch to 5K training app out there
This app has the basics, which is all you really need to get started running. I started from very little activity and not much experience being athletic when I was younger. Run-walk was the only way I was able to build up the stamina to actually complete a full 5K. Because of this app, I’ve even worked up to running a full 10K, something I never thought I’d be able to accomplish. You’re able to listen to your music, pick the narrator you prefer to give you the audio cues, it records how much you run (and your pace during the walking and running portions separately). I’ve always loved running but I have always been overweight and out of shape. I’d start running but never stuck with it because I never learned how to prepare for or actually run a long distance. This app has solved all those problems. This app guides you, quite literally, from couch to 5K. It is well worth the $5. Along my running journey, I’ve tried lots of apps. This is by far the best app to guide you through how much time you should run and how to split that with walking. The only reason why I wouldn’t give this app 5 stars is because I wish that there were more trainers to choose from a

I love this app for trying to get into running. I enjoy the fact that this app allows me to listen to my music through Pandora and the coach comes through. I just finished my first 5K in nearly a decade after using this app and am very grateful for the support this app provided. It helped motivate me to keep training and keep running, therefore increasing my cardiovascular fitness. It was nice to be able to change your “coach” — sometimes, I really needed to pretend to be chased by a zombie to keep going. However, I do feel that the training program on the app advanced a little too quickly for someone who was as out-of-shape as me. It’s a shame but I have to switch
Been using for 3 months now about to do my first 5k! It’s been a huge help! My only complaint is that recently it stopped giving me the ability to post my runs and that was always a motivating treat once I finish. Pls fix it 🥲 **** 4 months now using I’m about to upgrade to 10k but going with 10k couch potato instead of your app because I STILL can’t log in or share my runs. It randomly logged me out (done multiple times) and I can’t get back in. And you have “forgot password” but I think I logged in with apple id or a burner email and you don’t have a “forgot email “ button. So frustrating.

I’ve had this app as long as it’s been out. I’m in my 40s and have had 2 kids and several moves and then of course COVID hit the world. So I’ve started and stopped running many, many times. Each time I want to restart running I try a new app to help me pace myself so it doesn’t feel too hard and I give up. But I already go back to this app. It just works for me - easy at the beginning and it gets harder slowly so you always feel like you can do it and you’re making progress. HOWEVER - I beg that you update the app so that it syncs with your Apple Watch. I run mainly on a treadmill now - easier

Things to please change. I shouldn’t have to listen to Constance every time I go for a run (Hi, my name is Constance…). The log should be most current run listed first. It should log your run automatically(I’ve lost runs when I didn’t hit “log run”). The graph should continue after the nine weeks. I’d like the visual if the graphs, but it makes me sad they stop after 9 weeks so I can’t continue to see my improvement on the graph. Otherwise love it. Your program helped me become a runner at 52!!

Excellent, but a Little Misleading
This app is a great, gradual build-up to running for 30 minutes. I say 30 minutes, because it’s a little misleading as far as distance. The 10 minutes of walking during the warm ups and cool downs does add a small but significant distance to your total. I’ve thought that I’ve surpassed 5k in distance, but after subtracting my walking distance, I still had about 0.6 miles to go. With my pace, I’ll need to work up to running for longer than 30 min so I’m actually hitting 5k running alone. A little annoying, but because it’s been such a gradual build in running time, I think I’ll have no problem

Your Confidence Will Soar!
This app is worth every cent after the download purchase! My husband and I have been using this app since the pandemic started (on and off, due to laziness!) I was never a runner, mainly because I never enjoyed it or thought I could handle it. This app builds up your confidence and stamina in your ability to run and continue to “beat” your recent personal record. I am up to running 20 minutes straight with little to no troubles! Trust me, this is by far the best running app for those looking to build their confidence and those wanting to prove to themselves that they can do it!!!

Does the job
I’ve been using this app for 2 weeks and am happily making progress. My only issue is with how the audio is lowered at the halfway mark. Usually I watch a show while I run on a treadmill. For every other transition, the app lowers the volume of my show for just a second to announce the transition, then returns it to normal volume. But at the halfway mark it lowers the volume until the next transition, which for me in week 2 is 90 seconds. It’s just really frustrating because I need the distraction of a show to keep running and I can’t hear it. Otherwise though I’ve had no problems.

Good with a couple flaws
I’m a 49 year old woman who has gotten painfully out of shape and haven’t been exercised regularly in at least 5 years. It’s taken me about 10 weeks to get to week 5 on the app but that is ok as I paused a couple times when I injured my calf. I generally like the app, including the very conservative pace, but the app has 3 main flaws. First, I can’t stand the trainers and it’s annoying that you have to start the trainer anew each and every time. Second, I really wish the app would keep tracking distance/pace after the workout ends — sometimes I’m not quite home and I’d like to know the total d

Apple Watch usually doesn’t work
The phone app works fine. The Apple Watch however, usually does not work. When I open the app, it will say “start the workout on your iPhone”. It will say this during the middle of a workout. I keep my phone tucked away in a belt while I run, so it would be really great to know how much time is left on an interval. I have the latest iPhone Pro and watch, and iOS is updated on both.

I havent ran in years but have always wanted to but told myself I wasn't a runner. Well, if youre in the same boat- tell yourself you are a runner and get this app. The badges, the little coach that tells you you are doing great and you are halfway is so motivating. Cannot recommend this app enough.
