Unreliable terrible customer service
This is the second issue I’ve had with a train 5 ton HVAC again I have an issue with the compressor. It is under warranty thankfully however they don’t cover the labor which is costing me $1600. The unit is a little over four years old completely unacceptable customer service absolutely terrible unresponsive don’t give a darn. I have two of their HVAC on my property. I would not buy or deal with this company ever again.

Missing Event Data and Misleading Outdoor Temp
I’ve been using the Trane Home app for almost 2 years. It’s very handy for changing the set temp without touching the thermostat. I haven’t experienced the connectivity problems noted by others. My complaints are the Events log is missing 5-6 hour blocks of on/off cooling data every day and usually during the heat of the day. Their support staff directed me to sign in on the website where I could see the complete data, but I have to reselect the thermostat every time. They said the missing app data “just happens”. Aren’t apps supposed to negate the need to log on to a website? Also, I

Awful and Unreliable
I absolutely hate this app. The unit cost way too much for me not to be able to rely on the app working. I can never be certain why it quits syncing except that it’s not WiFi or power related. Resets, deleting, rebooting and still nothing fixes the recurring maddening problem. Which is especially great when you just need the thermostat temperature altered remotely. Which is the point of having a remote app right? Reviewed in the middle of the night after having to traipse downstairs yet again to physically check the actual temp and adjust.

Terrible
Idk how an app that’s supposed to be used solely for changing the temperature of my thermostat cannot do its ONLY job. In 9 months of using it on 2 different phones, it has never worked when I change the temperature - the little spinning wheel goes on forever like it’s loading. Now for the last 2 days it won’t even refresh to show what I changed manually using the wall thermostat. I set to 72F on the wall unit but my app says it’s still set to 75. Useless.

Request for enhancement
It would be really helpful if your app would send alerts if the HVAC throws error codes. We have a dual fuel setup and the heat pump threw its breaker during a recent power outage. Once the area power came back on we were running on gas until we noticed the heat pump wasn't running two weeks later. Had we gotten an alert, that could have saved us gas $$$. Please consider this RFE for a future update.

I preferred the Honeywell Total Connect App however this app has good information the Total Connect doesn’t have like running time throughout the day. One thing I don’t like is that you have to enter your passcode every time you go into the app. It should have a setting that allows you to select a segment of time the password runs out like 1 hour, 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours.

Always is always wrong
Have used the app for about 1 1/2 years. At first it worked not great or as good as other platforms. Fast forward a year and half and with each update it got worse. I have come to hate it. It never stays connected, and can never get it to reconnect easily. I have to physically disconnect the thermostat from the wall and reinstall. Then wait forever while it restarts and reconnects to the servers. And maybe it might work. My high efficiency heat and air system works great just not the thermostat or app. Hopefully I will find some kind of replacement that works.

Running schedule
Going from off to running schedule is not intuitive. Should just be able to select run schedule, but no it requires reviewing the schedule. Which itself is a cluster. O hate the schedule feature. Please fix it. Allow for a period, then to add a period, as many as needed. Allow for edits to each period. Allow days of the week to be selected. Sliding to the correct time is ridiculous and frustrating.

System running
I am supposed to have my system checked every 6 months but I haven’t heard from them in over a year. I had to hire someone else to check the unit outside. I believe they are supposed to check the unit in the attic as well due to the lack of flow into one room. The same room that has the wall unit. I believe the vents are not working properly in the room. But if I turn it up, all other rooms become too hot or cold. Thanks for your input to this issue

Thermostat constantly disconnect from Wi-Fi
Trane Home has got some work to do because we are constantly switching our thermostat up and down because of under heating or over. Additionally, the thermostat has been disconnecting from Wi-Fi regularly recently for some unknown reason.. To make matters more complicated there are so many options on these thermostats between the phone app and the. Internet user profile that it truly becomes a nightmare to maintain. Needs Improvement
This app is missing an important element. You should develop a way for the user to be advised of alerts and emergencies as soon as they occur. I’ve tried to find a way to set this up on your website, as it can’t be done thru the app, and I’ve asked the dealer for help but no one can find a way to do it. While alerts are listed in the event log, there are hundreds of pages listing every single thing happening with the system and we shouldn’t be expected to constantly review those pages to find problems.

UNLOCK WITH BIOMETRICS NO LONGER WORKS!
We’ve used TRANE HOME for years, and until the recent Update biometric sign in worked fine. Now, however, the opening screen only offers the Passcode option. We have not touched the UNLOCK WITH BIOMETRICS, and it still shows as “ON.” This problem occurs on 2 iPhones and 4 iPads.

Lacks functionality other apps/thermostats have had for a decade or more
This app and the Trane Link thermostat leave a lot to be desired. They are both missing functionality that apps/thermostats like Nest and Eco Bee have had for a decade.
1. No support for Matter or Apple Home Kit
2. No ability to gradually ramp up temperature to scheduled set points.
3. Kludges for things like detecting whether a home is occupied.
4. Incomplete log data. The controller, app, and thermostat know when the relay is closed for accessories like a humidifier, but this data is not logged in the event data on the Trane Home website.
5. No reports. While the Trane Home app seems

Trane Home app is essential. Rarely use wall mounted thermostats. Cloud points of failure have been significantly reduced but 5 9’s has not yet been achieved which is sometimes frustrating. When system goes down, realize how much it is relied upon. Trouble shooting incorporated AI agent could be next step.

Pure Awesomeness
I can control and adjust my Trane System from anywhere. If there is a significant outside temp shift while away from home, I just sign in my amp to make the necessary adjustments for my home. Trane is by far the best system I have deal with in my 48 years of life. It’s pure awesomeness

The app has worked well. Being able to control settings while not home or just busy is great! Having a schedule on here is great too! Just wish the Trane Company would assist customers with help instead of sending them off to other companies for help. Difficult and Cumbersome
For 4 years I’ve dealt with the burden and frustration of this application…..and the ridiculous monthly cost. Avoid this app, it is slow, slow to migrate from screen to screen, slow to update a function(on high speed bandwidth or local) whether the thermostat or a home lock that was part of this. Each time they surveyed me I told them the issues and let them know. I couldn’t update thermostat due to furnace and finally with the latest release I was able to install a NESt thermostat and I am free! Never Switches To Heat
We LOVE our Trane system!!! The app, however, is a pain to use. After 4 years of use, we have to re-initialize the heat schedule every fall. You’d think this was operator error with that many tries, but we continue to manually force the app to heat our space. We have edited schedules, ensured there are no duplicate periods, reset the app, but it always reverts to a schedule we’ve never entered. When we have consulted our service technicians, they have reported many similar issues with other customers. I’m glad the app seems to work for so many others, but we are not impressed at all.

Wonderful app. The only issue I have is it’s a bit difficult to program a schedule. I wish it was a lot easier. The ui/ux for programming a schedule is not fun. Once I figure out how to do it I never go back to it for years because it’s too hard. Outside of that it’s a great app for controlling your AC/heat

Best A/C Ever
We just purchased our 3.5 ton 17 seer air conditioner with variable speed and it has truly impressed us more than any other brand we’ve owned before. Comes with an app for touch free cooling and has built in humidity sensors. Simply amazing and is by far the best air conditioner we ever had. If you want the best out there then buy a Trane!

Less than the original
If you previously had the XL950 and then got the XL1050, you’ll be disappointed in the functionality. For instance, if you set up a schedule for changes throughout the day, you can’t use Presets for temperatures. That makes no sense to me. Just because I have three temperature changes in my schedule, I should be able to from the home screen click on any Preset and override the current schedule. You previously saw a graphic of what the fan was doing, that’s gone. Widgets, there is enough space on the home screen to allow for more than 3. I think the software needs to be tweaked.

Since last two update releases facial login and/or touch login no longer work on iPad, only by password. Nice feature if you can restore this function. Was working just fine prior to app updates. I love being able to manage my heating and cooling from my phone. But…. I set the filter reminder to 30 days and the app starts sending reminders two weeks in advance. Annoying way too early. If I wanted a 2 week reminder, I would have set it to two weeks. No… I am not buying over priced filters from Trane.

Trane better than Nest
We purchased a flip house where they had installed Nest thermostats. We went through the programming to set them up to our liking, but still had problems with waking up hot during the night. When we had our own HVAC tech look at them one was installed improperly, and the other simply wasn’t working as it should. Trane has been easy to use and set up. App works great. No issues.

Great app, when it works!
I use the app multiple times per day, and find it extremely convenient. However, it disconnects from WiFi frequently, along the lines of multiple times per week. The biggest problem seems to be when changing between heat and a/c, or vise versus. I have never t had more than one occasion where there was an issue in the last 2 weeks or so, since the App was worked on. Maybe it was fixed for good. One can only hope!

Worst home comfort app I’ve ever used
When we spent $21,000 to have our furnace and A/C upgraded, part of the selling point was the exclusive Trane panel and mobile app. They sell you on how technologically advanced the system is and how much data it collects and analyzes. Super cool idea and selling point!
I have a hard time believing that when the panel itself can only do a fraction of what far cheaper/less exclusive panels can do. We had an OLD EcoBee before this, and it functioned in a far superior manner. The mobile app is absolute garbage, especially when compared to EcoBee or Nest. Half the time the data doesn’t even load.
