Description

ID.me Authenticator is a simple and free multi-factor authentication (MFA) solution for your ID.me account, protecting your account from hackers by adding an additional layer of security. ID.me Authenticator generates secure 2-step verification tokens on your device, including time-based one-time passwords, (TOTP), push notifications, or mobile security keys, to verify your identity. When logging in, after entering in your password, you will be asked for an additional way to prove it is really you. Either approve the notification sent to the ID.me Authenticator by tapping ‘Yes’ to approve if it’s you (push notification), or enter the verification code generated by the app (TOTP).

I am trying to get a referee.i have been in the waiting room for 12 hours for the last 2 days. Says 24/7. I try 9am and 11pm. I get 2hr 45 min wait and in 6 hours latter I get 3hr 15 wait. Is this a scam? I tried to schedule an appointment. I tried seven different days five different hours. All are taken. None available terrible terrible terrible terrible I’ll give it two stars.

I could not understand how to get through the authentication part of the non instructions. Sent an hour going over and over and over the extra security non instructions! Then I went to the “virtual” fake person site where the fake person ask me 40 questions as to what I didn’t understand. And because I didn’t understand what I didn’t understand. I get the added security but I got a new device and my passwords and Face ID haven’t changed and yet the site won’t work. It’s requiring me to use a key but I have no other access than on my phone. This app is horrible, no support if you’re having an issue. My family leave is delayed because I can’t sign into it, I can’t get any help from this useless company. I am a very tech savvy person, not some boomer who can’t use their email. I have been through every page of their help screen and it just runs me in circles, cannot complete the steps to sign in. Video call document review is broken
The app is a half baked potato. It is a shame that US taxpayers are actually paying hundreds of millions for such a low quality service. For some reason, queuing for video call document review part of the identification workflow is done via web browser. The estimated wait time indicator is showing values between 1 and 10 minutes (increasing and decreasing), and even after 3 hours of waiting the video call still does not start. You end up waiting for hours watching the estimated time showing minutes. There are no error messages or any indication that submitted documents did not pass automated

Been locked out of everything because I don’t remember my password or email or phone number and been locked out of everything for over 3years due to the fact I can’t contact customer service via phone number. This app is not helpful and simply isn’t working. The freaking id. Me site tells me to follow the guidance and instructions contained in the email. When I do, I’m brought to a screen that repeatedly asks for me to complete the authentication to reset my password. Good luck getting yourselves verified. If you have a prepaid phone number, you can’t get verified. You need to upload documents (excluding ssn card or birth certificate) you’ll need to make sure the documents have the same address as your ID or it won’t process. There’s no customer support or service. And you must have physical copies of your documents, if you have PDF digital billing and paystubs, you won’t be able to use them either.

Not compatible with Apple Watch
Had this app for a few years and always used it with my watch. Bought the 10 this year and this app doesn't work with it. Where it gave me the option to approve logins before, the only option now is "dismiss." That's not helpful. Notifications come through my phone and trying to get through the VA security I can't click in and out to approve on my phone but I didn't have any problems through my watch. Please do something about this - it's frustrating and time consuming.

A recent update removed the option to approve push notification via watch or Lock Screen. Now you can only approve notifications via opening the app. What is the point of allowing push notifications on the watch and other devices if I still need to open the app to approve. I don’t always have access to my phone and this defeats the purpose. Please bring this option back!

I’m not sure what has changed or if this is a bug. However, for the past week or two, I have been unable to authenticate myself quickly via iPhone through a simple push notification OR on my Apple Watch! Peers I work with are also having this problem. 2 extra clicks adds up after the 50th prescription refill! Apps should be making things easier. -I’ll gladly change my review if this is fixed

A suggestion
There is no way to contact you unless I have a problem. I simply have a suggestion. All my Authenticator app say “Authenticator” and look alike. If I don’t remember which one I need, I have to try them all until I get the one I want. It’d be helpful if it said I’d.me either on the icon or the descriptor under the app icon itself.

Stuck in an endless loop of MFA purgatory
I’ve previously used this app before but now I get an error saying I don’t have multi-factor authentication (MFA) enabled. But since I forgot my password I can’t access my account to enable MFA. I get an option to select Authenticator or mobile device, but since I don’t know my password, can’t get into anything. Completely useless!

Easily the WORST app I’ve EVER used
So this is supposed to generate and accept two factor authentication codes or something. Nowhere NOWHERE does it explain what the app is and how its used. SERIOUSLY NO WHERE. I downloaded it and set up an account … but it doesnt accept or generate codes from the app I’m trying to get access to. AND WHO KNOWS HOW ITS SUPPOSED TO WORK ANYWAY. Don’t use this app
Previously, I did have problems with people who were trying to get a hold of me, but I didn’t know who they were and the app did do that but now I have forever lost the ability to have a voicemail on my phone. It looks and seems like my voicemail is working, but if I declined someone’s call, it does not go to my voicemail so unless you are looking to lose your voicemail forever, I would not recommend this app. Otherwise it does do what it says it does by ID any unknown callers and their location.

This is without a doubt one of the worst apps I’ve ever experienced with respect to customer service. I am a physician and I got a new iPhone and transferred my data from an older iPhone which I uses for multi-factor authentication (MFA (. Neither my password worked nor was l able to get MFA on the new phone. The most wrenching experience was trying to get customer service. The chatbot was useless. The queuing was a joke. Because I need this app for prescribing controlled medications it is absolutely essential to have immediate attention. I am beyond despair.

Can not get any help to change my phone number since one’s listed are not available. After I got a new phone, the Authenticator app won’t connect to what is was connected to before. Deleting the app and logging back it doesn’t help. Then the other apps connected to it is “already” connected to one with the phone I had before so it doesn’t give the option to put it back. I feel like what ever is with the app and you get a new phone it should stay. Now I don’t have access to my money.

I can’t use it in the app or the web
I can’t seem to operate this system it keeps putting me in a loop. It says to use the app to use the multi authenticator, but the when you cant use the MDU it says to use the web, which will send you an email to do it on the app which will send you doing the same cycle with no help even if you call the center.

Simply impossible
I am truly flummoxed. There seems to be no way to reestablish this verification process once the info has been removed from you phone. I upgraded phones and cannot figure how to get it to work again. And there is no help or real support to solve it. And since my refund is dependent upon verifying my ID and I can’t do that through the system and no one will answer the phone at the IRS I am out tens of thousands in refund dollars.

It never worked for me
I have been trying to use this app since last year ( while I was payed off I went back to work for almost a year now laid off again and I need this to be able to contact unemployment) it keeps telling me that I’m signed in somewhere else(which I’m not ) and ask me to sign in again then tells me my account is suspended. They keep saying a service agent will contact me but it has never happened almost a whole year later and still don’t work and still can’t get anyone to help me. They only send me a email telling me they are sorry it is taking longer than expected

Truly Pitiful
This is one of the worst apps I have used. Sadly, it’s required for some federal and state services. It. Does work for some of them which is about the only good thing I can say about it. I really hate to say anything negative about the team who created this app, but this app is a pretty sad excuse for an app. I did spend about an hour with it and it truly is abysmal.
