Highly useful App
I love this app! I can use it anytime anywhere and get claims information, benefit information or anything that I'm looking for at the time. I can go in and check my out-of-pocket maximum and deductible amounts while I'm at the doctors office. That way I don't overpay anyone nor do I underpay. Everybody should use this app because it is really helpful and easy to manage!

Horrendous Instapay Failires
We had a major procedure exceeding $50K through several providers. The app purported to allow us to manage and track payments to many providers through Instapay. We paid promptly the day each claim arrived in the app. It took multiple attempts for large claims since there is a limit of about $1000 every 36 hours. Then we didn’t get the money withdrawn for several days, then there were several more days before we were notified that the check was mailed. Then silence for a month while the hospital collections officers harassed my wife that we had not paid. We had no way to track this in the app

Easy way to get Answers
I like this app because it has my summary plan description, my deductible, co-insurance , co-pay, a copy of my ID card in case I don’t have it on me. It can be added to my Apple wallet. It also has find a Dr./Specialist search, and it’s just overall simple to use and I spend less time on the phone!

Providers are NEVER updated
I went to an eye doctor that the app said was in network. Turns out they are not in network and now I owe hundreds of dollars for my exam. I also used the Cigna app to find a provider for counseling, and someone they showed as “accepting new patients” hasn’t actually been accepting new patients for FIVE years according to her office. What’s the point of listing providers when none of the criteria is actually accurate? How am I supposed to actually use the insurance I pay for when I can’t even tell which doctors accept it?

East to navigate
I have been insured with Cigna for many
years now. I find the app very useful. I review processed claims all the time. I keep track of my current deductible and out of pocket. I find network providers and when I’m out of town traveling finding an in-network clinic or hospital is key. If I have questions about anything related to Cigna, I can call customer service or use the chat feature in the app.

One of the worst apps I’ve ever used
This app is in desperate need of recoding. It’s ridiculously slow, constantly redirects and gets stuck on the page without changing regardless of how many times I try to go back. I have to close the app and reopen it every time. I’m also incredibly frustrated trying to connect my health app with it. I’ve troubleshooted and done everything it suggested to do yet it still won’t connect. Out of Date Information
I have tried to find a PCP, urgent care, and therapist with this app. None of the contact information lines up and none of it is current. The urgent cares listed are now permanently closed. Providers offices that they list as PCPs are actually specialty offices that don’t do primary care. Therapists they list as “accepting new clients” are NOT taking on new clients!Or the phone numbers go to nowhere. It’s disheartening and disappointing. This app is suppose to be a helpful tool to find healthcare providers but it’s actually a long list of dead ends and headaches.

Great doctors
In 2025 I had to get all new doctors because of employer health plan change. So I went to a new a dentist, orthopedic surgeon, rheumatologist, oncologist, and dermatologist, and the doctors I selected to see were all recommended by the app, and all of them were extremely competent and kind. The app does a great job of letting you find care by distance, doctor type, etc. and shows you patient feedback.

I love it! I can see everything that’s been billed, I can find any Dr. that’s in my network with a click of a button (it does glitch out occasionally??) but could be the internet?? And I can see all of my benefits up to date!! I’m very pleased with Cigna so far! Several features are useful and easy, such as HSA balance snapshot, finding care and rankings based on reviews, cost efficiency. For the annoyances, a major one is inconsistency with displaying estimated cost. For the same provider this info disappears when accessed from a filtered list and is very difficult to get back. The app gives me a Log In button every time while Face ID is set up. A heart / favorite option is barely discoverable and adds to My Health Team which makes little sense when shortlisting for later review. This app is amazing and I appreciate Cigna for all they do to ease the stress of figuring out how to do insurance stuff. I have had other insurance before like united healthcare and blue cross a long time ago but it was confusing and I was certain That it was just me and I wasn’t smart enough to do it. Outdated Network Info
I’ve called four separate doctors listed as “in-network” on the Cigna app and not one of them has updated information on the app. There should be auditing or following up of some kind to keep this data as up-to-date as possible. It is taking up more time to call from the app than it would for me to just call doctors in my area and ask if they take my insurance. Not a convenient mode for accessing healthcare. I hope this is fixed or remediated.

App Issue/Glitch
Even after the recent update, this app still has major flaws. I can’t even login and when I try to reset my password, it still doesn’t recognize my info. This has happened multiple times before the update and I always have to call customer service for them to reset my password because the app always fails to log me in! So frustrating and I thought after the update they would fix this issue but it’s still hasn’t been fixed. Worst app ever.

New update does not preview what I owe for the processed claims. I found this useful to easily sort by what I owe to my deductible. You now have to open by each submitted date. I think the home page is wasted by having the ID card in your face taking half the space, while it has its own tab. Overall it is harder to quickly access useful information and how your plan is structured, benefiting you.

Having access to my insurance via the app is awesome but my only issue is I’m unable to get the app to sync and recognize my apple health info. I’ve read what the instructions provide and made sure it’s turned on but every time I load the app the steps are never tracked & recorded. I do a lot of walking since I’m avid player of Pokémon Go and I can see all the steps recorded in the Health app but never once in the Cigna app….

This app is trash for tracking health and fitness, and linking to your devices and apps. Constantly loses sync, I have to log in daily to make sure it’s actually recording my activity from my health apps it’s linked to. I’ve missed out on a lot of company benifits because it’s not properly tracking steps, and things like that. Navigating the app is also horrid. Hit the back button and it just reloads the same screen. Have to hit buttons multiple times. How is it this hard to create an app worth using.

Glitchy & freezes
I gave this ONE star only because it installed on my phone and opens. That’s about it. I wanted to use the app but it freezes on certain pages. It doesn’t show ANY of my scripts nor all my EOB’s. It also Just had an update recently so assume it should be working properly.
If I as a customer want to check my balances for scripts, this is telling me there are none.
It’s primarily useless a “save to desktop” icon which goes directly to the website through my browser and I feel is less secure. As a Major health provider that’s a FAIL. Do better Cigna.

Stored Password not Storing
I use this app only for submitting flexible spinning account claims. I’m finding recently that even though I checked the box to store my password every time I open and enter the app I have to type in my complicated password again. Otherwise once you get in, it’s fairly easy to submit a reimbursement request using the app.

While this app has been modernized so it no longer locks my entire account if I try to use it (my original 1-star review)...
This app doesn't show Claims & EOBs. Instead of the expected information & document links after we tap the button for "Claims", we instead get a blank white page with an endlessly spinning wait cursor in the middle. Every time. Forever spinning. Never any completion even over 10s of minutes.
Cigna chat support refused to escalate a bug report. So they're never going to fix this.

How does this have a 4.8 rating?! It’s very frustrating to have an app that won’t automatically pull up the password or allow you to save it. Considering how many people have complained about this specifically, I don’t understand why they’re not making this a top priority. But that’s only one problem.
I’ve been having trouble getting the back button to work, particularly on the wellness portion, so I came to look at the reviews and see if anyone had some hacks. I’m not surprised to see how many other people complained about the functionality. I also agree that it’s not at all intuitive. And

HSA feature buggy and slow to update
This app’s HSA spending account integration is buggy and slow. Contributions are delayed by 2-3 business days after the money is added to the account, and you can see where the deposit is made the same date as payday in the HSA bank account. It’s as if they are using an antiquated 1950’s mainframe system. There are random deductions and deposits made without any rhyme or reason. For this, I am giving the app just 2 stars.

My first application review and I had to give 2 stars…This is only about the app, not about the company or its services. 2 stars for being able to do half of the basic tasks on the app, but having to switch to their websites because of everything I’m going to rant below.

Stop breaking biometrics / FaceID
Every 1-2 weeks when an update is released, the app no longer attempts to use FaceID for authentication unless you first login, turn on the option again, then logout and back in. This would be a minor annoyance if it was a couple of times a year, but with the rate of updates being released this should be addressed to prevent users from being forced to ed through this process constantly.
