Avoid this horrible bank if possible
Constant changes to the mediocre systems. They have like 4 different webpages and you have to do everything on a different page. Pay you cc one page, view your check account another one, make a wire another page etc etc

The worst
I am forced to bank with this bank unfortunately. I deposit money weekly to transfer to my main US bank account and the layout of this app is horrible. Why not list out the transactions and the end balance after the transactions instead of breaking it up into debit and credit transactions? It’s hard to keep track and to see if everything is as it should be. This reads very SCAMMY.

Keeps Locking Me Out
This is mostly an issue as I have the bank linked to another app in order to track my expenses. However, out of all my financial accounts, this bank is the only one that consistently has issues with being linked to this app and keeps locking me out and making me change my password. I understand the security concerns but I used to have it linked to a similar app years ago and not once did I have issues. Now all of a sudden I’ll try logging in to the bank and it says “you have been locked out” and when I check my finance tracking app, sure enough, it says it has lost connection to the bank. So

Authentication error non stop
Ive been using this app for years and all of a sudden I’m getting an authentication error every time I input my password and won’t let me in my account even though the password is correct. Ive changed the password twice now (to which both times it has said that I’m typing in the SAME password), reopened the app, deleted it and reinstalled it to no avail. I use this for my payments and to keep up with my balance and now I can’t even log in because it’ll block me out if I keep trying. This has been going on for a while and Im tired of this.

Incorrect card type in Apple Wallet
Credit cards are correctly added to Apple Wallet for Apple Pay as a card type “credit”. (Visa platinum, signature, or infinite) (MasterCard platinum, world, world elite) But when adding a debit card (Visa Debit) it adds it as a card type “credit” (Visa non-debit). This makes me unable to send money via Apple Cash (since there has to be a debit card added to Apple Wallet in order to be able to add funds to Apple Cash). PD: The ATH logo on the digital card is only part of the card design. ATH is irrelevant to Apple Wallet or Apple Pay. It does not make it a debit card because of the logo.

The security on this app is so strong I am constantly getting locked out and having to recover my account which is a big process! Don’t even THINK about changing tabs with the app open or you’ll be logged out and when you log back in too many times you’ll be forced to recover the account via 5 emails! It’s a wild ride.

10 Years Later, Banco Popular Finally Enables Apple Pay
For years, Banco Popular Puerto Rico customers waited for Apple Pay support, but it never came. Instead, they pushed their own ATH Móvil system, ignoring the demand for a more universal and secure option. Meanwhile, PenFed has supported Apple Pay since 2015, and many, including myself, left Popular for banks that embraced modern payment solutions. The system does not allow multiple accounts on the same login. I have 4 accounts, I should be able to see them all on one platform and move funds between accounts. Dark mode icon gone after an update
Whatever happened to the dark mode icon it never came back. It was gone after an update and it’s the only colorful app on my main page and it really stands out and not in a good way. It seems that no matter how many times I use the app, it always gives the same problems. When signing in to the account, yesterday would recognize the password, but magically today it forgot it and won’t let me sign in. The proceeds to block you from even attempting to reset your password or trying to sign in a different way. Then the process for resetting the whole thing, includes calling to customer service and explaining the problem to them maybe be able to help out, good luck giving all the right info or they would not help out at all. If you deposit in cash, it takes up to three days to clear not to mention no one has time to physically go to a bank these days. Been using the app for years now, it works great and is honestly very nice and simple. It’s missing the niceties other larger American banks may offer but it’s otherwise quick and snappy and simple to understand. I do wish transfers felt a bit more responsive as they tend to feel like they hang, and that could be fixed with some UI/UX tuning. Lastly, they recently added a launch chime that drives me insane every time I open the app AND it seems to be playing on the media track on iOS cuz it will pause my music or podcast just to make sure I hear it. I've been using the application for years, I've never had problems until more than a week ago. It does not allow me to enter the application, I have deleted the application I have reinstalled it, I have called and so far it seems that they do not know why and they have not been able to solve the problem. I use the application to make payments and check the bank statement. When I try to enter, it tells me an authentication error. I need to know who can solve the problem.

Finicky app
Frustrating Sign-In Experience I’ve been using this app for a while now, and the sign-in process is incredibly frustrating. Even when I enter the correct password, I often get locked out and have to reset it repeatedly. On top of that, the security questions seem broken—no matter how accurately I answer, I still get error messages. This issue doesn’t happen with any of my other bank apps, so it feels like something is seriously wrong with this one. Until this gets fixed, using the app is a constant headache.

Keeps resetting me password even tho I got the security question wrong
I somehow forgot the security question to my account and I’ve tried changing it several times and every time a change it the app doesn’t keep the messages and gives me a error message. I kept getting the same security question back to back and I keep getting locked out and having to change a password I already know. It’s just the question they won’t let me change.

Need of Black or Dark mode for the elderly.
The app is has been good so far. The developers indicate that they listen to customer reviews and requests but almost all 65 and over customers are in need of the black or dark mode. The need is real and we have asked for it many times. The developers haven’t done anything and have not responded as to why the feature has not been implemented. We feel that the Banco Popular new administration feels that the ones who helped Mr Carrión make what the Bank is today are not important. Shane in you my friends.
