Love It
I’ve known about Burner since at least 2018. Recently, I subscribed to the new Dual SIM plan. This works flawlessly on iOS, and you can easily switch between numbers in iMessage or when calling people. Also, the biggest thing I’m in love with was the fresh new number they generated for me. Seemingly, it hasn’t been used by anyone before and doesn’t show up anywhere online. I couldn’t be happier with this app. This company has come a long way and I’m impressed.

A loyal user for years until today
I’ve been using Burner to sell items on the Internet for years, and today it decided to stop sending text messages. The chatbot help doesn’t remember conversations, so I have to restate the problem and indicate what I have done to try and fix it every time I chat with it. After following all its recommended steps, it told me that probably my texts were being considered as spam. I am only texting one person at a time so I don’t understand how that is the case. The Chatbot says wait 72 hours and maybe it’ll fix itself… OK great. That doesn’t work for me. So I’ll be finding a different app.

Unknown error and more.
I keep getting a “unknown error” message when I open the app. I have updated and restarted my phone.
I was told that some called me today but I don’t have any missed call. My phone has not been turned off.
Also, people can’t leave a voice mail. I have always had the ability for someone to leave a voice mail.
I only restarted my phone for a brief moment after I was informed of the missed calls. What gives. If I need to go to Premium so be it, but I have already paid for the year in February and would only want to pay the difference. Not the full price for premium.

No Features, Limited Number Changes, Expensive
They charged for for a year long subscription. I received 12 total times to change my number, extremely limited choice in number usage, and nothing I would expect for privacy with how much I paid. To top it all off after changing my personal phone number they wouldn't allow me to change to the new one so I had to delete my account and have about 10 months of the 12 month subscription non-refundable and gone in the wind.

Free Trial My Behind!
I hit the switch that indicated I wanted a free trial, and though apprehensive, I authorized a payment method, thinking they wouldn’t charge me unless I kept it beyond the trial. However, instead it charged me immediately, and it was even more than the $9.99 that was posted! Anyone know if we can report apps to the better business bureau? Does not work as advertised
If you need a basic text message, the app works. However, be aware that two things are not detailed for the pro version. First, there is a limit to the amount of times you can change numbers. Second, there is also a time limit on when you can change numbers. In addition, the numbers are often considered spam on a number of platforms. The app even advertises use on platforms for which their numbers don’t work, including dating apps. I would advise the user to avoid completely apart from regular sms use with another person’s phone, and I am personally seeking a refund.

Doesn’t Dial The Number I Want To Call / ‘Cancel Anytime’ - But No Cancel Option!!!?
No instructions. Can’t get it working. Downloaded, connected to wi-fi, set up my number, and then try a call to a friend and it is trying to call me at the number I just from the app no matter that I typed in a different number.
Then, it clearly says Cancel Anytime. Well anytime for me was when this app didn’t work but I look all over and there is no way to cancel. What’s up with that?

I’ve used the app for quite a few years and it’s been very helpful. Overall, it’s been a dependable service that gets the job done.
However, lately there are a few persistent bugs that I experience. I often doubt get calls going through to my iPhone. When I test it myself by calling from a different phone, the calls to my Burner number goes right to voicemail, but calling my iPhone directly rings as expected. Even the test call feature in the Burner app goes right to voicemail. The Burner app setting to silence incoming calls is turned off.

Buggy, unreliable, bad customer service
This app used to work great for my business, but for the past month or so, it’s been nonstop issues that never get fixed. I’ve missed important business texts, or my texts are very delayed or never go through. Notifications also never go away. There’s been at least two updates that supposedly were for bug fixes but they have fixed nothing.

I pay for the app for work purposes so i dont have to give my personal cell to clients. For something that i pay for i feel it should be better quality. I can communicate through call and text, but call quality can be sub par. Along with that, it constantly shows notifications regardless of if they truly exist or not. I have to go in and continuously hit “mark all as read” even though there is nothing new. On top of that, in the box to type a new text i always have to clear it out of the last semt text. Unreliable app and poor customer service
Several times they disconnected my service, claiming error on their end. NEVER have they offered to compensate me for the time I have gone without service DUE TO THEIR PROFESSED ERROR. They even refused to document how long I went without service once while I was traveling internationally. I use this line for business stuff and I suspect it was down for days. So they essentially do not what to take accountability for their error and its impact and are attempting to hide their mistake. Also, you cannot reach a live person in real time. It would be nice to know if it has been received, sent or read. Or in the very least just received. Even SMS has this feature. Working Well!
I have been using the burner app for about 3 to 4 months now, and I personally have not had as many issues as those who have left recent reviews but I can say that the app works as advertised, even after reinstalling my original number I picked still saved and reinstated without issue!
I use this app mostly to talk to people I don’t wanna give my primary number too, and it seems to be working as such ❤️ I recently upgraded to add in the VPN feature and that has allowed me to access things that I need to on Wi-Fi that may be restricted without it.

I have been using the app for a couple years now. It’s ok. I have issues every now and then. My main issue is I have to pay even more to send any video no matter the size. Considering I already paid for a year subscription but they want even more money to do things I should already be able to do. Even if you could send videos under a set size limit I would be fine with that and a pay more to send bigger videos but to restrict all videos unless you pay more is a money grab in my opinion.

Fake Trash—worked for only a few messages
Was able to unsubscribe prior to the trial period ending, otherwise I would have been charged a year’s subscription for a service that doesn’t function. Established a phone number and sent a few messages over a few days. Then the add phone number screen showed like I needed to reestablish an account from start. From then only error messages on this screen, “contact support via email”. Email support did respond but did not resolve problem, was followed up “our legal department handles all terminations”?… don’t care about your fake legal department. I remember first downloading this app a long time ago. Probably about 5 to 7 years ago. Back then the app had a different icon graphic. And a completely different interface. At some point a few years ago they changed it and the UI layout as well as the UX just hasn’t been as smooth and seamless as the previous version many years ago.

I have been a happy customer with the burner app for the past three years. I get an annual 10 line subscription and that allows me 20 number switches for whenever the numbers go spam. Recently they have changed their policy and although it says you get 20 number switches they only allow 10 because once the subscription renews, The numbers you already had take up 10 of your switches. I got this app for an extra phone number and made calls and texts to clients that are out of my state. After using the app and almost paying for the year subscription I got an error message and could not log back in. I contacted customer support and they said that they terminated my account. I emailed their legal department and they wouldn’t tell me why they terminated my account other than “it is within their right to terminate whoever they see fit to terminate”. Having the word BURNER flash on the screen can hinder the privacy the number should provide. The contact issue is also an issue. I don’t recommend this app. I signed up for the free trial. It worked until the day the trial ended. I was then charged and all of a sudden my account was shut down AFTER I was charged the $60 annual fee. I had no way to contact other than an email address. I emailed and had no response for two days. After reading the privacy policy, I determined that it was not safe to use this app. They promise to collect as much data as possible and there is absolutely no reason to be doing that if they're not going to sell it regardless of their hedge sentence about not being in the business to do that generally.
There is no reason to be collecting people's names and phone numbers and connecting it with information they get from third parties other than to make a massive datamining database. This is not an app for anyone who wants anonymity or privacy. All I wanted to do with this app is receive secu

Oops - update & excellent customer service
I got this app instead of having to carry a 2nd phone for work. I paid for a year subscription, but kept getting notices that my number was going to “expire”. I double checked to make sure the subscription had gone through, which it had, so I didn’t think much of it. Well, my subscription is good… but the number I was using was “burned”. So then I had to pick a new number which meant I had to go back & update all my work info so I could be reached if needed.
Update!! The Burner team was able to retrieve my original number so I could continue to use it for work. I really appreciate the excell
