OmidD mentioned the problem. Well one problem. If you have a saved payment type and it’s expired, the app doesn’t tell you that or offer to update it. Instead it shows no payment types. Then you enter in the payment info and it says it already exists. At no time telling you the actual problem. Next: it is CRAZY that this app doesn’t support Apple Pay. That is nuts. I’m parking and want to get out of my car, not spend 10 minutes fighting with your app. Let me enter the location, tap Apple Pay, and be on my way.

App glitches lead to tickets
I sat in my car (not hurried), ensured the proper zone and plate numbers were entered, updated my card and set it as my primary card. Reserved the max time. When almost two hours had passed, I entered a new session to make sure I was covered. I came out to my car to find a ticket. I was very confused and frustrated. After investigating and contacting the app, my first session never registered, only the second. The explanation I was given was essentially a glitch. This glitch cost me a the price of a ticket. Stuck in a loop
Just installed on older iPhone Se first gen, 15.8.6 iOS. As others reported- once app loads doesn’t even give a chance to enter any credentials, goes straight to “sorry cannot verify”. App then sits there and does nothing with a mostly blank screen. Using latest version from App Store Update— just kept trying the app and even did a few phone restarts. Randomly it started to work properly, but again this was after futzing around with it for like 20 mins — at least it’s now working. So it’s still a bit sketchy and hopefully it will improve down the road

Keeps declining all payment methods. This has been a problem since September of LAST YEAR for everyone in my city and yet no one has done anything about it. Customer service is a joke. I’ve reached out multiple times and no one has gotten back to me. Those in my city who have managed to get a hold of someone have just been told that it must be an issue with their credit cards. Sure. 🙄At one point it made me set up a wallet to pay for parking in another city, but it won’t let me use those funds ANYWHERE else, and the app does not give you a way to get those funds back.

Can’t save a new vehicle
Edit: after reaching out Twice through the app, this review and once through the website, I finally heard back from somebody. They did help me resolve the issue so I am changing my review from one star to three stars. When that app works it’s great. But very difficult if it does not. Especially since my city has disabled all the meters so that app is the only option to pay. Three starts because it took so long to get it resolved. This app used to work great. Avoid this app at all costs if you don’t want your car to be towed!!!! Once I park and pay for an hour, I cannot even extend the time for another hour. No Apple Pay, clunky , convenience fee
Disappointed with the Passport app. The lack of Apple Pay support is a big miss in 2026 and makes payments less convenient than they should be. The interface also feels clunky — even something simple like fixing a mistake on a credit card entry is unnecessarily painful and time-consuming. On top of that, the added convenience fee just makes the experience worse. Overall, not user-friendly and not worth the extra cost.

iOS UI buttons missing
Can't see numbers as I type space number. IOS problem compounded by non universal design. Tried to add a car today. There is no SUBMIT button showing on the form. Pressing RETURN on keyboard doesn't submit form. App has not been updated for iOS 26. Is there nobody working? What do they do with the money they are making? Submit button shows during iPhone mirroring, so that must trigger a compatibility mode.

No notifications!!!
Got a ticket! Because there are no notifications in this app. I don’t think it was always like this. I was so upset. I thought maybe it was my fault. So I went into settings and notifications and the app isn’t even an option. So then I thought maybe I’m going crazy. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. I opened the app to waited for the pop-up to ask me if I want to accept notifications in this app. Never happened. This app is JUNK now. It should be illegal for cities to use this app when it doesn’t even notify you.

Worst app experience
I am a software developer with apps that are used by millions of people. This is the worst app experience that I have had with any mobile app. I have two payment methods saved in the app. One of them is the default payment method. When I create a new session it doesn’t ask me to use one of the cards on file. It says enter a payment card. I enter the card that I already have. It says the card already exist. Total garbage - does not work
Since the most recent update, this app is totally broken. First of all you have to guess at how to get the parking space in the app. Then once you do, even if you have payment methods saved, it asked you to put in a payment method. And then when you do, it tells you the payment method is already in there. The developers of this app needs to roll back to the previous version or start over. It’s complete garbage. Cryptic error message cost me $30
This app's vague error messages cost me a $30 ticket. When I tried to pay for parking, it just said "Zone Unavailable" with no explanation. What it ACTUALLY meant was "You've reached the 2-hour daily limit for this zone." I left my car for 7 minutes and came back to a ticket. I appealed the ticket since the app refused to take payment. It turns out: I had parked in the same zone earlier that day and didn't know there was a 2-hour daily maximum. Where to start with everything that is wrong with this app? The authentication experience: No support for passwords, no support for passkeys, no support for password managers, no FaceID, uses a OTP sent via SMS which is widely considered to be bad practice (hello sim swapping). The OTP that is sent via SMS can’t be pasted in using the automatic feature of IOS, so you have to find the SMS that IOS has automatically deleted and type the OTP manually. What Happened to this app? Avoid if possible.
This used to be a convenient and very easy to use app, but now it’s a joke. Every time I use it I now have to enter my car AND credit card info again. It used to save all that for me. It’s a scam
I went to the beach to shoot a photoshoot and it said I had to pay to park. I downloaded the app and it glitched out and charged me for 8 hours $40 even though I scheduled for 4 hours $20 which was the smallest amount I can. now i only had 39 dollars in my account and when it charged me the $40 it declined the payment but kept my money on hold I then decided to not try again because i couldn’t because it was holding my money hostage then a day later it still took the $39 out of my account even though i didn’t go all the way through with the transaction

I paid for 2 hours in cambridge. Upon trying to renew more time with 5 minutes remaining the app would not allow me to up my time. My colleague could do his just fine, and my other colleague was having the same issue. We were parked next to eachother. So after finishing lunch, as the timer expired, we went back to the cars, 3 minutes after expiration to a man giving us a ticket. After starting the conversation confrontational, we de-escalated the situation and I had video proof of the app acting up. We paid manually for 4 more hours. Can’t Buy Through App
The app won’t let me get to the payment screen. After I enter the parking zone and space numbers I get to a screen showing how long I can park until with a continue button at the bottom. Clicking the button shows a loading icon but doesn’t advance me to the next screen. I’ve tried pressing everything else on the screen just to ensure there’s not a hidden selection that I need to make, but there’s nothing else to select. This app is designed TO GIVE YOU TICKETS. You have a 1/4 of getting a ticket even if it charges your bank, and you’ll have to pay both the parking ticket and parking fee. If you close the app while it’s still processing a payment, or even for a few seconds after paying, it won’t go through and you’ll get a ticket. If you click “max time” it only automatically selects about 15 min, so if you don’t notice then you’ll get a ticket. I used to love passport! Super convenient - until it suddenly stopped working altogether, with me standing next to my car attempting to pay for a spot, in a lot with no functional parking meters. I used this app a few years ago, but after my old card expired I haven’t been able to set up a new payment source without getting the message “Network error, try again later”. When some apps fail to work, it’s an inconvenience. When this one fails it will cost you $. They have a perfect alibi: It’s not our fault, talk to whoever wrote the ticket, and the city says talk to the app people. Credit card autofill doesn’t work
Passport Parking has a lot of basic usability issues. For example, it can’t use credit cards saved on my iPhone (most apps can). It doesn’t keep me signed in for very long (why not?). If you take too long during check out, it says “your quote expired” or something, and you have to start over (why not just shift the parking period later, keeping the dollar amount the same?). Also the fact that you MUST enter a PIN, immediately after authenticating your phone number is totally silly.

Nice rating. I wonder why?
I am a 55 y. o. and whenever possible I try to avoid using phone apps because I do not see anything on a phone. IMHO this is an outright discrimination against older people. But often there is no choice. So, Passport Parking is charging you a “convenience” (see above) fee, say, you pay 0.25 for parking and 0.35 to the app. This is absolutely unnecessary money extortion layer between a customer and a parking provider disguised as “convenience”. And you guys then are surprised why old farts vote mmmmmm not the way you like.

There is a .55c convenience fee, however, when you try to extend(and this happened twice now), it declines my card. But two minutes later when the session is over, my card works just fine and I’m able to book the parking space for another two hours but I have to pay the $.55 convenience charge again that wouldn’t have been applied the first four times my card was rejected while trying to extend.

it’s bold when Terrance Howard takes brave new steps into building a parking pass app but you’d hope someone in the room would have taken the time to make sure it doesn’t steal your money and then not print out a pass. Accident happen but when the company refuses to get back to me about my query that’s when I have to start writing. I’m from the Northwest where apps like this run a plenty but have a crack team behind them ensuring situations like these don’t occur. Doesn’t work online
The app itself is ok, except it’s another app to download and make an account and type in your credit card info all just to park somewhere in a new city for a couple hours. It’s obnoxious, but the website that directs you to the app gives you the option of just paying online without downloading the app… but the that link doesn’t work, essentially forcing you to download the app. This “download our app to do anything” stuff is so frustrating.

Usually 4 star, this week a 1 star
I needed to use the app 3 times in the last 2 days. The 2 times I used it yesterday, it took an unreasonably long time for the app to load & then a painfully long time for each screen to load But I could pay for my parking. This evening I needed to cover 15 minutes & after 15 minutes, the app still hadn’t loaded. Don’t know if it’s the fault of the app or the municipality that’s using it but it wasn’t a winner tonight. If I can’t depend on the app, I guess I better start carrying change. Kinda defeats the purpose though.
