Too busy; key info missing
I got a very high recommendation for this app from a fellow commuter. Plus it had ‘real time’ information on the conveyance I going to use. But unfortunately I find the app lacking or actually too bloated in many ways. First there are too many boisterous ads. I purchased the so-called ad free option but it never seemed to take I am still getting ads that are very annoying. I have more than one device tied to my Apple ID. Does this allow me to have the ad free versions on all those devices? Second why do I still see promotions for ad free version if I already purchased. Third I turned off ‘Rid

Too many intrusive ads
I don’t write reviews for apps, however I have to warn everyone that there are a lot of intrusive ads that launch when you need time critical directions. Swiping out of the app for any reason and coming back to view the next direction step shows an intrusive full screen ad. The selling point of the subscription is to remove the ads, however that shouldn’t be why customers subscribe. They should pay for a premium version of the app for the features and services it provides. The free version shouldn’t feel like a punishment. I’ve been using it for years now.l and I’ve really come to depend on it. The updates are frequent and I’ve not had any issues so far. The only complaint I would have is advertising… ugh! I hate adds! Using the interface has gone backwards
You used to be able to add an extra ticket right on the payment screen, but now you have to tap to go into a whole other menu to add users before you can buy. When you’re in a rush, trying to sit down or stand on the moving bus, the extra taps and the extra time is inconvenient. Also, if you’re going a long distance and you’ve already put your destination into the app, it will still ask you which stop. Due to the urgency of alerts, I need to be able to copy and paste the alert into Google Translate. But Moovit does not allow alerts to be selected and copied. Moovit makes the bold assumption of being operable in Italy, an assumption I made the grave mistake of believing. I was heading to a street called “Via Europa 3” an Address of which I copy-pasted that I needed to get to by bus. Great for bikers but basically unusable with ads
This is the best app that suggests routs with your personal bike and transit combinations. Google maps and Transit app are far worse at suggesting combined bike and transit routes. Unfortunately when you don’t pay for the app it is basically unusable. It is pretty affordable at $6/yr but it has a worse interface than Transit app in my opinion. It still could be better at suggesting bike and transit combinations and I wish I could prioritize those suggestions. I prefer it to google maps but I ultimately prefer the Transit app.

The Live Ride function no longer works. It used to be great. Moovit+ would wake me up two stops before my bus stop to alert me to start getting ready to get off the bus. The makers of this app are so intent on making one more dollar per six months that they suddenly canceled my six month subscription so that I will have to pay them more money starting today. I use the bus every so often but when I did use this app I get an add every 10 seconds. I’m not even joking when I say every 10 seconds. I understand you need adds but it defeats the purpose. I think it’s ridiculous to ask people that are using public transportation to pay for live view and updates to your route. The overwhelming number of ads make this app practically unusable. It’s almost as if they create an experience that is so overrun with intrusive ads that you feel like you must upgrade and pay for the premium version. Also, it always seems like the ads pop up during the most inconvenient times like when you’re in a hurry trying to navigate directions and all of a sudden you’re getting an ad, it’s honestly such a bad user experience. I’ve used this app for years and it’s very helpful to see bus schedules and arrival times. But recently the ads have been getting ridiculous. It’s frustrating to need to check ride information/show a ticket, and then have a huge ad pop up with a very small exit button. I don’t mind ads usually but this eventually made me delete the app. Also, if you’re using this for directions to a bus stop you need to make sure it’s leading you to the correct side of the street. 6/10 times it’s right and the other 4/10 you are at the wrong stop for the direction you are headed.

I recently moved to Costa Rica and found that the public transportation system is amazing however trying to find out where each bus goes can and is a nightmare. I regularly rely on this app. I find it to be more useful and more accurate than other apps like google maps. But as Somone who relays on public transit I’ve had my harsh moments with the app, in the free version the adds pop up at very inconvenient times like when the bus arrives and you have exactly 10 seconds to know or remember if this indeed is the line.
