I recently spent a week in Vancouver British Columbia, using an iPhone with TracFone service. This meant that I had essentially no service except in my hotel or in places that had public Wi-Fi. Despite this, I was able to get around the city fairly easily using the Moovit app. Once I figured out that I could start a trip in Wi-Fi and leave the app open once I left Wi-Fi, the app would still be able to tell me where to go, what bus stops to get off at, how far to walk and which direction to the next bus connection or to my destination, I navigated the city easily.
