Best weight-workout app I’ve used
7/25 update - the latest update has really slowed the app down. The integration with Apple Watch is annoying and it now takes time for the app to “sync”. If you don’t notice the Watch app connection at the beginning of a workout, the workout timer won’t start. Still no ability to check all reps in a set with one click. It gets really old clicking 11 or 13 reps per set for every exercise when I’m doing 15 exercises with 11+ sets per workout.
Original review:
I used Fitness Point for a few years before I came across the “Strong” app. The wide ranging versatility of Strong is vastly superior to

Good app with strong potential through continued updates
This is a solid app for tracking workouts, especially in its current state. It’s clean, easy to use, and does a good job of helping you stay consistent with your training. I also like the Apple Watch integration—it makes it convenient to track workouts in real time.
That said, there are a few areas where I think the app could take a big step forward. Integrating with other fitness platforms like Strava and similar apps would add a lot of value, especially for users who track multiple aspects of their training. Expanding and regularly updating the exercise library would also help streamline pr

this is the best workout app i’ve tried im not exaggerating
I have tried many many many many many many many workout apps and this is the only one that works for me. you start by creating templates and when you show up to the gym you just click on a template and say “start workout” it’s that simple. it will count down your rest timers and stuff and keeps track of your previous weights and times you did.
it’s five star quality but there is one thing the dev could do to make it even better. instead of a free and pro version, they should sell extra templates. you only get three and it would be nice if i could buy a fourth one for like $5 instead of a mon

Simple and effective
I’ve been using Strong for Three years and I can’t really complain! I love being able to have different folders for workout sessions. It allows me to set my week split based on whatever my goals are at the time. Upgrading to pro is 100% worth it if you plan on making many templates. There is a large list of exercises preconfigured with tutorials on how to do them, and anything that isn’t listed you can add and say what type of workout it is. I love the graphs so that I can track any stats that I want. The apple watch tracking has gotten better over the years, and now is pretty reliable. People

Love this app!
The programmers obviously spend a lot of time at the gym because it couldn't be designed much better for flexibility and ease of use. I couldn't be much happier with it.
It's got a nice built-in list of exercises and you can add your own if they don't have it already. When you enter the weight and reps for the first set it automatically fills the remaining sets with those same values that you can update as you perform them. It has a rest timer between sets that you can adjust. You can add exercises and rearrange the order of them in the middle of a workout and then optionally save those chan

Couldn’t Live Without
i legitimately *insert title* this app. every time i see people recording their workouts on paper (which i used to do for a short time), i think of how hard my life would be if i did that. some features that i especially appreciate
1) weight conversion between lbs and kg. makes staying consistent while traveling super easy as i can automatically switch everything i’ve ever done to another unit moving between the U.S. and other parts of the world
2) the notes feature. i’m a huge journaling person and it just makes my workout feel much more complete if i get to reflect on my sets and lifts and t

Best Workout Tracker in the Game!
I’ve been using Strong for almost 10 years now and it is hands down THEE best workout tracker I’ve ever used (and I have used A LOT). Easy and intuitive UI, has all the metrics you need and capacity to track your PRs. It has a hefty database of exercises to choose from but you can easily add your own exercises. The built-in restbuilt-in timer is also great. Lastly, there has not been any major overhaul updates where you login one day and the app looks totally different because developers want to try something new. This app already knocks it out of the ballpark and there are only minor quality

Great! Just missing a couple tiny things.
Simple, intuitive use, and consistent. I'm grateful this app exists as I use it often.
If I could add my opinion as to what I would add, I would say more exercises. I'm aware there are a great variety of exercises already in the app, but sometimes I find myself looking for common workouts that don't have an option to choose; resulting in me making my own custom exercise that aesthetically doesn't do it for me. Stair climbing for cardio, lat pulldown (close grip), Single arm variations of workouts, glute kickback machine, & incline pushups are what come to mind. Again, I'm aware I can make cu

Great Weightlifting Log
I love this app for its intended purpose of logging workouts. It’s very user friendly, has plenty of typical and atypical workouts loaded, the rest timer definitely helps keep me on track. I like that it has the ability to add notes. I like that it also tells you what you did previously so you automatically know what to increase next round. The ability to build templates is a great feature. I still haven’t dived into some of the other features yet but look forward to.
Recommendations to improve app: it would be beneficial if the app could communicate and sync calories burned to MyFitnessPal

Just right
Other trackers require a ton of clicks and scrolls during workouts. This app gets it right— they only include meaningful features so that you can focus on your workout… not fiddling with your phone. I’ve used this app consistently for a few years (over 1k logged workouts) and have been pleased with its progress. Recently they’ve fixed a few of the minor issues, improving super-set management and rest timers, which were very well done. The developers of this app clearly know what’s important to their users— effective workout tracking. No frills, no ads, very few restrictions. I highly recommend

New UI elements are a regression
Just updated the app after a while, and wow, the new UI elements are seriously unpleasant and bloated. Specifically the new rest timer UI and the weight plate calculator. Having a rest time below each set bloats up the entire workout view. I liked the one in the corner a lot better. It would be better if it showed below the current set only when in use, not shown below ever single set. The weight calculator makes no sense whatsoever. I am trying to set a weight for a plate loaded calf raise machine, and it only lets me use the calculator with a 45lb bar in the equation. If there is a way to ch

Love this app. Have logged 350+ hours in it. Strongly recommend.
Two small quality of life requests:
1-Smart workout substitutions:
I frequently “replace” lifts in my template based on what equipment or machine is available at my gym. (E.g., if all the benches are taken, I replace Incline Dumbell with Incline Machine Press.) These replacement lifts almost always target the same muscle group (in this case, upper chest). I do this 1-3 times a workout. Great for beginners
Sure there are tons of apps that do the same thing but I remember when I started working out in 2022 and I found this app and it has worked wonders for me.
I’ve been able to track every single workout and see my evolution on how strong I’ve gotten from weightlifting. I have never bought the pro/lifetime version but with the basic version you have all that you need. I have logged over two years worth of workouts and I can even make up specific workouts, the only thing the basic version lacks is a lot of space for as many workout templates as you want to make, but you can get all that when you

Love the smart watch integration
I’ve used Strong for about 4 years now and I’ve always loved it but the most recent update has made things even better. The smart watch integration specifically has been improved dramatically. Usually after a set I’ll log it on my watch but sometimes I need to do it from my phone, and either way everything is so seamless and there’s no more delay in trying to get things to sync. Also, you can access all of the features from the watch itself now, even the more complex things, which is really useful, and it’s laid out in a very intuitive way. Overall I’m just very happy with the app and I would

Loved it until the recent update
I’ve been using this app for 5 or 6 years and have really enjoyed it. The recent update, however, has removed some of the most useful features. I used to be able to sort my templates alphabetically. I used a numbering system in the template names to make them sort in the order I wanted, placing the newest ones on top. Can’t do that anymore. When adding an exercise to a template, the app will use the same weights & reps as the last time you performed that exercise, which is handy. If I modified a weight or rep count, it used to roll that change down to all the subsequent sets. It no longer does

I really enjoyed this app. It was basic but had everything I needed. In particular, I liked that I didn’t need my phone to log workouts. I could use my Apple Watch to quickly record each set (weight and reps). Before the update, I could use the scroll wheel on the Apple Watch, after the update, each time I want to go up a pound or down a pound, it is a single click. Sometimes I go up by 10 or 20 lbs, so now instead of quickly using the scroll wheel, I have to mash the screen over and over again. Whoever thought to get rid of that feature really needs to ask themselves if they are in the correc

Awesome app, but…
I’ve been using this app for several years to track my workouts and I love it.
However, I really really REALLY DISLIKE the update on the rest timer.
Previously the rest timer would take up a large part of the screen, so I can easily see it while my phone was on the ground, and I could also easily X out of it if I needed too. The latest update took that away for some reason. Now it shows the rest time beneath each set (with a small font size so I have to hold my phone up to see it), which may be of value to some people, but it isn’t to me and just clutters up the log on my screen with unneces

No “frills”, just features, thank god.
I bought a lifetime membership recently (after buying the year membership before, and using it free once it lapsed), so thought I might as well review too. This app has seen me through many different stages of my fitness, from just starting to work out alone to many personal bests. I briefly tried other apps, but this does everything I need, doesn’t confuse or intimidate me, and feels nice to use. It has the helpful standard images of most workouts too, so I’m not loading giant images or videos at the during my workout. There’s no upselling programs or heavy marketing. It’s pleasant to use fre

It's worth it
I normally hate recurring subscriptions and just make do with the free version but decided to give this app a try and I have to say it's worth every penny. Built in rest timers, ability to track progress, ability to create your own exercises, and my personal favorite is the ability to export all your data as an excel spreadsheet. Gone are the days of trying to track everything in my notes app or excel app. Developers actually respond to suggestions and are humans, not some auto generated response. I've tried numerous other lifting apps and none compare to this. Hopefully the devs continue on

disastrous update
I’m a longtime, heavy Strong user (~1600 workouts) and generally love the product. I see and appreciate the improvements they’re trying to make with the new 6.X release, but they’ve regressed basic app performance so much that it’s a step backward. 1) Lags and latency are a big problem now, both during startup and during actual use (it interferes with typing). These have worsened in the past week, needling the app nearly unusable. 2) They cluttered the UI with the inline timer; though you can revert to the old top-of-screen timer, it seems you can no longer disable the timer entirely now. WERE DID EXERCISE LOG NOTES GO!????!
WERE DID NOTES GO!? WHY DO I HAVE TO DIG FOR THEM EACH WORKING?????? Before you could tap exercise log you were working on in session, see last all the last workout numbers, ANDDDD see the notes within that workout session). Now I have to back out of my workout, go to history, tap the workout I think I completed that note on, and hope it’s the right one. No way to see prior notes AT ALL on the exercise log screen. No way to tell FOR THAT EXERCISE ALL THE NOTES FROM THE WORKOUT IT WAS HISTORICALLY PERFORMED ON. why why why why fix something that wasn’t broken??? Literally the only reason I use

Best App Ever!!!
This is the best and most straightforward workout app ever!!! Other apps you need to also be a member of their gym or work with a trainer. And if you leave then you’ve lost all your tracking in their app. If you enjoy creating your own workout plans and are struggling with accurate tracking this app puts it all in one place!! There’s also a glossary of recommended exercises if you want to change things up in your routine or learn something new. Can finally get away from the excel spreadsheet that I intended to use but was too annoying to work with. This app is super affordable, straightforward

Cannot get it to sync templates to Apple Watch
I’ve used Strong app for years and now have to find an alternative.
I use my Apple Watch to manage my workouts. It’s with me on the bench. It’s just not practical to have to keep the iphone with me. So, for me, using the watch as I complete sets is essential.
The “new” Apple Watch app just will not sync templates from the iphone. I’ve tried the few troubleshooting steps provided in the app to no avail. The watch app continues to show “pending for sync” with the templates I’ve created in the ios app.
I can start a “quick start” workout on the watch, which does sync to the iphone, but the w

Best app for customized workouts
I’m a busy mom with a full-time job who lifts weights twice a week and wants to get in and out of the gym quickly. But I dislike apps that give me a canned workout. I have some old injuries I’m trying to avoid flaring, and I want to streamline my workout to focus on specific goals that vary depending upon my health, time available, season, etc.
Strong is my go to app to achieve these goals. I’ve tried so many other apps, but I love the simplicity and customizability of Strong, so I keep returning to this one and renewing my subscription. I now have the lifetime subscription because it’s just

Best Workout Tracker
I’ve tried seven (7!) different workout apps. Strong is the one I settled on some time back and have been very happy I did. It has great info for finding exercises and lets you create fully custom routines for different purposes. It’s highly flexible and I’ve created a number of custom exercises for custom routines, all of which get saved and can be imported into other routines with ease. Great convenience features, integration with Apple Watch, and it also allows full data export so you can investigate your own history or print it, make a dashboard, or review with your personal trainer. Awesome app
Love this app I started using it because I hated the idea of carrying around a journal at the gym and the notes app wasn’t as functional as I’d like. For 1 the exercise library is huge and also allows you to add custom exercises for those. Also has warmup sets features and ways to mark sets as drop/fail all the sweet stuff. With that huge library creating routines for any phase of any type of training has been awesome. I have little to no complaints especially for $5 a month subscription. However the developers suddenly stopped updating the app and the features are a bit stale. So devs let’s g

NEW REVIEW:
Change for the sake of change is just disappointment. They changed the way the timer works and now I can’t see my timer from a distance, which was important to me, and the screen requires a lot more scrolling because now I have to see the timer tracked between all of my sets…. That’s what everyone wants, more scrolling… it honestly breaks my heart. I’ve got over 1,000 workouts logged in this app and hate that I’m going to have to start looking for another app.
OLD REVIEW:
I recommend this app to all of my friends who workout and want an easy app to track their workouts. The inter

Love this app, best ever
I love how flexible this app is. The options for data analytics, the encouragement after every workout, the metrics for measuring progress, it’s all phenomenal.
I do sometimes wish there were a few more ways of tracking volume increases on all workouts, some only let you measure total reps or average reps/set.
But unfortunately, I regularly break the app. Between Apple Watch syncing, duplicating workouts occasionally and all the history I’ve accumulated, it crashes probably once a month at least. Not too bad though. I’m not sure if my phone just can’t process all the data (but I’ve got the

Excellent App, but needs a website
This is a fantastic app to use at the gym and for tracking progression. Would definitely recommend!
The app itself is exactly what I need at the gym. However, it would benefit tremendously from having a website that links to the app. The app is great once you have your routine set up in it, but doing all of that on the app is a pain. If I could build my routine on my desktop, that would be an enormous upgrade. I’d also prefer to view the charts and review my personal records on the computer. Obviously, mobile app is best for the gym, but for all of the pre-gym routine inputs and post-gym dat
