If I can give it a zero, I would
Don’t get me wrong. There are good books on here that I do like but what I don’t like about this app is that you have to pay so much money just to read one book and then let’s say you subscribe it is so expensive and you have to pay it weekly and then if you unsubscribe the book you already read gets re-locked again and all the chapters you already paid for and unlocked are gone and honestly, I don’t think that’s fair. If I can give this app a zero I would, but since I can’t, I give it a one star

One of the Best!
I’ve tried/used a lot of different reading apps and this is hands down one of the best out there! I love the monthly subscription- as a quick reader it’s way more cost effective. There is also a huge variety of stories to choose from, I’m constantly finding new books everyday. The only down side is that sometimes the app promotes books that are not complete and then the authors take sooooo long to finish the story. There’s one book in my library that I’ve been reading for over a year and it’s still marked as “ongoing.” It would be nice if abandoned books were labeled as such or maybe removed

Good storylines, bad editing and hard to cancel purchases
These have some of the best stories I’ve read from many apps. Despite being good in concept, many have contradictions and aren’t edited properly or are clearly using AI (in discrepancies). Also, I tried to get the subscription (since you get 60 seconds of reading for every 2 minutes of ads) and it kept failing to go through the proper apple apps way. I decided to use credit card. Now I have no idea/way to cancel.

The book content is excellent and well written however I think what’s worse than a bad book is a very well written book that is incomplete and takes months for updates. I finished the bulk of this book in late N.A. ish and it’s now mid May and only have seen a few updates. 2 chapters then weeks 2 more chapters then months then 2 chapters and still. Waiting for anything more. Why get us into a boom of your finish It. Cost me a lot of money as I kept a membership for this book. I have switched to coins. I only have a membership when I plan to read complete books. Ie on vacation etc. this is

Love the app and stories
First love the stories but I’ve been having issues using the unlock characters option the thing will show a pure black page no add no way out you have to force close the app to get out but when trying again it dose it again normally lasts days then when I come back to the app after a couple days to try again it reverts me back a chapter then glitches all over again sometimes I can can you please unlock the door im outside one chapter then the next one is a black screen again .. I’ve even had issues with paid characters lost characters points multiple times to this glitch … I’m iOS 26.4.1

Deceptive Billing – Hidden “Guest Account” Charges with No Way to Cancel
This app charges me for recurring subscription tied to a “guest account” that I could not access, locate, or manage. When I tried to find or cancel the subscription, the app clearly stated that I did not have an account. There is no warning that subscription can be tied to a device-specific “guest account” that is essentially invisible to the user. Because of this setup, I had no reasonable way to cancel the subscription before being charged repeatedly. I am so deep in some of these stories. I love being able to come back and read chapters at a time with my morning coffee. Some are slow burn, but sone are full of drama at every turn. Good Stories - Horrible Pay
I really like the stories available on the app, but the amount that is taken per chapter feels like a scam. The more points you buy, the higher the amount of points is taken per chapter. Started off with 64 points per chapter. I bought 1000 points and that only gave me about 4 chapters because the last chapter had gone up to 164 points per chapter. That makes no sense. I don’t think I’ll be using this app anymore. There are a lot of other apps that charge way less per chapter who have great stories as well.

I love the stories
I wanna start by saying, I love the stories and the app however recently the app has not been launching, which is frustrating because I’m paying for the weekly subscription and I’m at the end of a very good story I have tried making sure everything up-to-date. I’ve tried restarting my phone among other things I sent an email, but it said the email address/domain did not exist so it never was delivered. I really hope this gets fixed soon.

False advertising
When you look up books and then click the link, it tells you before you click that all of the chapters are online free. No, they are not and it cost about $100 to finish reading any of the books that I want to read seeing as every chapter cost more and more coins to unlock. They do not stay. The same price in the chapters are not long enough to be worth buying every chapter.. it’s also very clear that your writers use AI in order to write their books which even more shows that we should not be paying for work that they didn’t actually do themselves.

Absolutely love the content, but highly disappointed that I cannot get the app to load. It was working great and I was hooked then poof. It just sits on the loading screen and stops. I have downloaded this app to finally get a good one, no adds, no having to spend money on chapters just to read. Not user friendly
This app is not user friendly, you click on anything and it brings you to a page with “recommended reads” like if i wanted a recommendation i would go into the browse or search function. I was trying to interact with my library but kept getting redirected to “recommended reads” super annoying. I used to finding pay-to-read apps, but most have alternatives like watching ads, but this app only lets you earn “bonus” with such tasks, “bonus” aren’t coins and can not unlock new chapters. BS

Editor Needed
Stories have potential, but I’ve read one too many where the chapters are either repetitive or they read as if the author doesn’t know their own book. I’m sure that I am not the only one who puts money into this app. You should really invest in an editor or two or allow the author to make changes after publishing. If the app isn’t going to be 100% free something has to be done to ensure readers are getting quality stories. I’ve quit a few because it was taking too much to get through them.

I don’t understand why these apps have to have different ways to unlock different kinds of stories. Like, if you insist on forcing us to pay for coins in order to acquire enough to unlock a short story, maybe don’t let coins expire after we earn them. We earn them, don’t take them away. Especially when you make the unlock fee for short stories something outrageous, like 1500 coins for the whole story, but won’t allow individual chapter unlocks.

Dark Mode Please!!!
I hate opening this app while in bed at night because it flashes bright white, please enable dark mode for the entire app, not just the books. And allow us to skip the book ad as soon as we log in. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve accidentally tapped on a book instead of skip and have to back out of whatever story I just ended up in.

Misleading Cancellation process and no refunds
I tried cancelling my subscription through Apple and deleted the app, as this is what’s outlined in the Help section FAQs. Somehow I still ended up getting charged the following week!!! I redownloaded the app and reached out to them directly and they quoted an ENTIRELY different cancellation process. I sent screenshots to show how that clearly differed from what they had posted on their site and requested a refund since I had made a good faith attempt to cancel but they refused the refund and just said sorry for the misunderstanding. Can’t get more coins
I love this app. However, for the last 3 days, I haven’t been able to do a recharge for coins. I only trust one form of payment option, and I’ve tried the different ways to try to restart the app, as well as updating it, but it still won’t let me get more coins. Please fix this, or show me a different option to restart the app. I’m reading a really good book, but I can’t get more coins to continue reading, hence the hysteria.

I really enjoyed this app, mostly because of the Aaron voice/audio as I listen during my long drives too and from work. Opened the app for the first time in a few weeks and it’s gone! The current options are AWFUL. If the audio isn’t put back/fixed/improved, I won’t be renewing my subscription because otherwise this app is no better than other story apps and unfortunately I don’t have time to read, only listen. If I did have time to read, it’d be an actual book.

Frustrating
I actually was enjoying a book and was willing to watch add to get chapters so I could read more then 1 or 2 a day, but there is a glitch freezing the screen before the first and second add and will not allow me to move on. I have to close and restart. Only one or maybe 2 chapters a day is a little frustrating. *** Update I tried clearing the cache and there was not a new update, it did not work and when I reached out the email for customer service was returned as un-sendable so no go there. ***

So I canceled my monthly subscription January 16,2025 and have since been charged the full $40 on August 15,21,28, and September 4, 2025. These transactions came out of nowhere and I was given no receipt, except on my bank statement. Not only that, but the subscription claimed to be “monthly” only to charge me every week. So I’m listening to one of the books and I’m loving that it has this feature. The moment that I buy coins, the option disappears. I literally cannot find it anymore. UPDATE: I am still enjoying the app. HOWEVER, I do have two recommendations that would make my experience so much better: (1) darken any screenshots taken rather than post a 5 limit warning. I have never had a screenshot taken accidentally until this app. I literally set my phone down on my desk, walked away to grab coffee to come back with a warning. This type of thing has happened like four times now. There are a lot of apps out there that don’t allow screen recording or screenshots and it just gives you a black screen. Coin subscription not working
I love the stories in this app and I’ve used AnyStories for many years. However, I got a coin subscription through the app, takes you to an external site and I’ve tried everything to cancel it, but found no way and there’s no contact to ask for a cancellation. I’d like to have an unlimited subscription but I’m not paying for that plus two coin subscriptions. Which the coin subscriptions aren’t working and I haven’t gotten my daily coins for almost 2 weeks now.

I’ve been a member of AnyStories for several several years. And after spending definitely $1000 on books I decided to do a subscription. When my subscription was over I want to re-read some of my books that I had read before and all chapters were which is upsetting I’ve spent so much money on AnyStories that I refuse anymore to spend anymore money on it.
