Not consistent and accurate app
Entries were added to my file that did not exist. Very little communication. Vague information when I was messaged. Meetings that were either canceled or removed from my appointment list without a reason or notification. This is not the way to communicate with patients or to rely on this app for the no. 1 way to notify patients. The nurses constantly remind you to check the app to talk with them or a dr., which is not a way of having a personal relationship with your patients instead you treat them like a number or a work action to complete to earn a paycheck.

Update or Support?!
UPDATE: Where’s the new update? There has been a notice in the Messages tab on the app since end of summer that they were updating to a new login. It specifically mentions dates the end of September but now we’re into the end of November and patients here in SWPA - the heart of UPMC - are still waiting to see this new portal come to fruition. | I have had continual problems with receiving notifications and emails from this app. I missed the opportunity to have a video visit last week bc of this. I have emailed support several times now with photos of my settings and details about it my phone e

Did not have a great experience with Video Visit today.
I had a 10 min video visit with Melissa Whoolery and she was in a sense not listening and “know it all” rude approach. I tried explaining that I have GI issues and could not take Doxycycline and she did not listen. I told her I have had it before and could not take it. On top of the facts that I am on Semaglutide I have bad issues with nausea. She also came to the appointment 15 min late and it lasted all of 10 min. So disappointed that our insurance will be billed for that absolutely horrible experience with a bully know it all. I’m not sure what to do? How do I switch my Primary Care? I’m l

UPMC billing
I keep getting bills in the mail for UPMC. My billing on this site says no payment due at this time zero dollars. As a balance. Now it’s gone to collection when it should’ve been sent to the insurance last year, but I never received a bill for this last year after June when I had my surgery and I paid the entire bill in full. So how do you expect me to pay the bill that didn’t come until April 2025. There wasn’t even on this site for me to pay to begin with. I’m very I’ve said that you sent this bill to collections when I made a payment on it and I’ve been trying to figure out where the bill c

Never seem…
Have used My UPMC app almost from its creation. Honestly, it is simple, direct, visually easy to find and get to what might be needed at the time. I have used other med systems apps and absolutely they seem not to smoothly present possible connections, needs and when I did ask their IT for help, they did admit that they were having problems. Thanks Guys!

Old messages
Over 700 old messages in my account that need deleted but no way to do so. I’ve tried to delete one at a time by opening and trashing but that no longer works. As a former UPMC employee I was able to empty my trash folder by highlighting all old messages and deleting. I have been messaging my physician weekly with updates on my status for years on their request. The trash folder needs to be able to empty at intervals and multiple items removed I can see keeping some longer but past appointment reminders and messages of no change to medication are useless to me and my doctor

By far The Best compared to others
Update, My complaint now, has to do with my connections on Video Appointments. Too often, I get connected, tells me, I’ll be seen soon, and states 1 Waiting…but if takes longer than Appt time. It goes to 1 person waiting and camera goes red. I try calling office but that kicks me out. This last time, i happened to be able to sign back in, as the Doctor was still on; and connection clicked. Previous comment: The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 Star review has to do with trying to delete past appointments which accumulated for years. I be have to delete them individually. AWESOME ENT care and your webpage makes it so easy to manage appts
We live in Sandusky, OH — 3 hour drive — we found your ENT department about 4 yrs ago through a friends research. We connected with Dr Schaitkin and he regularly treated my wife Susan for a serious Parotid gland issue through regular treatments and medical procedures. Upon Dr Schaitkin retirement last August, Susan was assigned to Dr Sridhanan who has taken over Susan’s care and is also marvelous. Yesterday Oct 28, Susan had an appt scheduled for an important treatment with Dr Sridhanan and we had to cancel at last minute in the morning as Susan had to take me husband Michael to our local

So convenient
This Upmc app is wonderful… I have everything I need in one place. Meditation test results appointment and I can message my doctors in a few minutes. I like the fact that all my doctors , that Upmc affiliated , have all my records and information at their fingertips. It’s so easy to use and so nice to have all my medical information available to me with ease.

Things definitely need to change
I am thankful that I can get results as soon as they’re available but I don’t care for the ease of dr offices being able to schedule appointments and never call to notify me. This app doesn’t notify me either, I just happen upon these appointments. I have better things to do than to spend my day looking on this app for new appointments. What happens when I don’t see them and begin missing them? I’m the one that will be kicked out of the dr office and left to find a different dr. For being a no call no show.

Review about the app,
I love the app . I very much dislike Upmc Passavant in McCandless right now. A male muted can’t to a full waiting room and called by full name first and last which is against hippa Also a neighbor who was there or works there is now asking neighbors why I was at the hospital! Also against Hippa. Something is very wrong at the particular location at this time. It may be all UPMC locations but I have been to this one a few times in the last month and was very dissatisfied. You are moved from waiting room to waiting room. My time is just as important as the staffs . I was there for over 5 hours a

Learning to be a secretary without pay.
I hate having to go through all this trouble of making my own appointments this way! I wish it were as simple as calling in and making an appointment with the receptionist, that’s the way it SHOULD be! After all, if the receptionists don’t make cancel or reschedule appointments what’s the point in having them there at all? It was a complete pain getting the app then learning to navigate it, especially as I am not from this generation and have never truly ever been FORCED to have internet or wireless telephones. Needs work
Overall it’s a good app, making it easy to message doctors/nurses, schedule appointments, view test results etc. But the app is terribly slow and not smooth. Since this is such an important and vital app to patients, it should run much smoother like how social media apps run. We should be able to look at our results when we are offline as well, like the Google docs app. Also there’s too much downtime for the app, every time I need to use it there’s a message saying “issues loading some services”.

Managing your health is just a part of life. We all get older which usually means doctor’s visits and monitoring your health is even more important. It isn’t until you have to do the little things like reviewing your test results, scheduling appointments, requesting prescription refills , paying your bill or asking your doc a question that you appreciate an application like the MyUPMC app or the website and it’s ease of use . I can honestly say it’s become a staple in my life and I’ll even go as far as saying it almost seems to encourage me to stay on top of things health wise. Oh and the conv

SIDEWAYS?! Must type uphill using an iPad with keyboard.
I use this app a lot to communicate with numerous doctors and nurses at UPMC. I also use an iPad Pro that has a keyboard, and have for years. This app “says” it is compatible with “this iPad” but all communication is in Portrait mode… NOT LANDSCAPE mode. I would hope to see the developer fix this, as typing uphill, or sideways, or whatever you call it is most annoying. It’s a great app, and the medical teams I work with use it to get messages to me quite frequently… but THEY are not the ones to tell. Hey developers, make this app “Great Again” by fixing this issue, and for anyone out there sha

I like being able to message my medical professionals any time, it is so much easier to send a message then it is to call. Also, calling is more intrusive and the medical professionals are very busy. With sending a message they can read it when time allows. Having my appointments readily accessible is also very convenient for planning purposes. It would be nice in my oncology group was available for me to message. Another way to improve medical care would be to have the records for all medical available for my oncology group. In-app browser makes navigation difficult
Generally I don’t hate the MyUPMC app. Other apps like this are usually unusable, but I actually feel like I know where to go for things with this app. However, one thing that changed is most pages now open an in-app browser instead of having their own page within the application. This isn’t necessarily bad, but navigation is not easy. For example, if I visit my test results, it opens a browser. I click on one test result, and after viewing it I want to go back to the list of test results. But, the “back” button is grayed out and not clickable. Clicking “Done” closes the browser, meaning I

I thought this app was so cool that you can go on there and make an appointment. My psychiatrist stopped taking my insurance so I need to get back on my medication so I came on here and typed in “behavioral health” and a list of doctors popped up, I picked the soonest available appointment who happened to be DR CODY ALAN SMITH. He was so rude and unprofessional and clearly did NOT care! I did NOT know that he was a PCP, I thought he was a psychiatrist. App used to be great
Not long ago the MyUPMC app was updated to give more access to pages you could access online but were unavailable in the app. During this update they also removed the in app functionality of messages and appointment notifications. Now when you tap on anything it takes at least 10 seconds to open a browser window and load the content you’re looking for. Compile this with the multiple messages before and after every appointment (messages that I’ve already read bc they were forwarded to my actual email address) and it’s nearly impossible to clear out the clutter in the notifications to locate inf

Inability to receive a call back from doctor’s office
I was hoping I could contact Dr. Carol Chesin’s office in Monroeville through this UPMC app. I have left four messages starting a week ago last Friday, June 2. I tried to refer this issue to a patient advocate, but they only serve people in the hospital. Dr. Chesin has been my doctor, as well as the doctor for three of my sisters. This has to be an anomaly. I am not giving up as I need my condition remedied. I will try again tomorrow. Thank

Scheduling issues
Every time I use this app to schedule pediatric appointments there is a problem. I go through selecting the type of appointment (ie well-child, school physical, etc), I choose an available time with the kids’ provider, and it tells me I’ve successfully scheduled their appointment. Then the pediatric office calls me and leaves grumpy messages on my voicemail and MyUPMC informing me that “there’s not enough time for the provider to see my child.” Then they cancel the appointment. Obviously this renders the on-line scheduling aspect utterly pointless/useless.

Website is better
I’ve tried several times to book an appointment, each time I get 2-3 steps into it to find out that there are no appointments meeting my needs. Frustrating now as no longer know that message has been received and reviewed
Hi, Not sure why the “message read or reviewed” option has been removed. It used to be very easy for patients when message has been viewed by dr. or team to know to decide whether to send follow up or call or needed to send email again. But now I can no longer know message even has been reviewed or read and just have to keep waiting to see whether I get any call or response. Any reason why the read option is now removed????

Website is better
I use the website instead of accessing the iPad app. Biggest problem is the screen does not rotate. I’d love to add more data to this user experience! (Maybe this is a HIPAA problem) Unifying connectivity to other healthcare records (like AHN), insurance (like BCBS), or testing services (like LabCorp) would be very helpful. Family history is another gap in healthcare data. I can’t tell anyone that my Grandfather has Skin Cancer and I’m at risk too.
