The worst App experience ever
I used to send my images between devices using Google Drive. It worked good for a few months until I always had problems about storage. I don’t know why, since my Drive was empty. It said ALL 15GB was used in Google Images, I don’t know why it would send them to this app especially without telling me. I usually delete a lot of images I don’t need anymore, but Google Images works differently. It automatically steals every image and video and saves it as-well, but whenever I delete an image from my device, it still exists in my Google Images. Not good but has some qualities
don't get me wrong, the Google Photos itself is pretty good. Okay, the 15 GB offered by Google is honestly much better compared to other things like iCloud and Microsoft that only offer 10 GB for free, right? But the thing is, Google Photos is connected to Gmail and the other things, so whenever you run out of storage in Google Photos, that obligatorily blocks Gmail and all those other stuff. Ruined my Google Drive; they want me to pay to fix it without wasting hours
I got this account after seeing how you could save frames from videos after my GoPro Quik limit before premium ran out. It didn’t compare to that at all— even when slowing a video you couldn’t see all frames and save the desired moment. The problem though, was when I opened my Google Drive to do schoolwork, my storage was full from my Google photos. I didn’t intend for them to be saved, and even clicked to have them not be backed up, as all my photos are on my phone and it wasn’t needed. Ok for basic backup services but seriously lacking basic features
Now I’ll be up front- it could definitely be me! I haven’t met anyone who has a library the size of mine. Things that should be simple are not- search for example. It takes far too long to execute regardless if I’m using the phone app or on a computer. Second- it is too tedious to tag people and pets. If google only recognizes 3 out of 5 “faces” in a photo, good luck trying to get it to “see” the other 2. It’s the same thing with pets. If you accidentally associate a name with a person or a pet, it’s literally impossible to rectify. Now again, I don’t even KNOW how many photos and vi

Doesn’t manually sync most of the time
I take all kinds of pics & don’t intend to keep them all, so I turned off the automatic sync feature. When I go to manually select photos to back up to a particular album I have created, 9 times out of 10, it will say it has backed up & when I go out of the app & back into it later to check on my new photo album full of pics, it won’t have any pics I put in the album. It also makes no difference if I’m trying to back up one photo or 300. The final variable is paying for the extra space, that doesn’t ensure you’re paying for better service. Feature Request: I’ve got years and years of photos uploaded with you. When I search for a photo and you give me a result, I often want to review the rest of the photos taken from that date. Currently to do so you have to back out and manually scroll through to the year, month and day or do another search for that month and year but then still scroll through to the moments to get around to the ‘time’ you’re looking for. I don't even know why I had this app in the first place, but I was recently notified by google that my storage was full and my Gmail would be shut down if I didn't clear more storage. This app will wreck your life. I downloaded the app to access some photos that my friend sent me. Unbeknownst to me, the app started backing up all of my own photos on my phone. The app expended all of the data storage that I have with my Google account which locked up my email and drive files to the point that I could no longer use them. A Virus on your phone hungry for money!
This app has caused more issues in my entire family than anything else! This app fights so hard to be your only photo app, where it syncs to your photos app and if you delete a photo it will delete it from the other as well. The problem this creates is that it will sync with your phone when you download it and it will fill up your entire free storage.
