I absolutely love the Tesla app. I use it every single day and it makes owning my Tesla so much easier and more convenient. I constantly use it to turn the A/C on before getting in the car, lock and unlock the car remotely, open the trunk, check charging status, and monitor my car from anywhere. Everything feels modern, smooth, and super convenient. Being able to control so many features from my phone honestly feels futuristic. I wish I can use multiple options to pick for payment options. Like when I’m at a charging port. The only option is debit card or credit card. We’ve had our Tesla solar panels and Powerwall for almost 5 yrs, and the Storm Watch feature hasn’t worked in a few years. I’m very disappointed with my Tesla purchase experience. The process was filled with mistakes, miscommunication, and unnecessary delays from beginning to end. OK, my number one concern is there’s no feedback. If you run into a problem while buying your car, there’s no way to tell Tesla what the issue is. The cars are great, but this review is for the app. The app is great - it’s farrr better than many automaker’s apps - better than Ford or GM. Better than Hyundai or BMW. Unusable — crashes on launch

I tried all the usual restart/reinstall procedures and the app still crashes on launch. I contacted Tesla support and they told me to do more restarts and reinstalls, which did not help. I restored my iPhone from backup and the Tesla app started working for a few days before going back to crashing on every launch. Something is broken. Powerwall being devalued by recent updates

The app has just about everything needed to monitor and control the Powerwall. Everything worked well for the first 4 months. Then Tesla sent an update and suddenly the Powerwall behavior changed. It used to charge during less expensive times and then discharge fully during the more expensive times. Now it only offsets my in home usage during the expensive times. This leaves lots of energy, usually 60-80%, just sitting in the battery instead of selling it back to the grid. Tesla is still light years ahead of most if not all both legacy auto makers and EVs. No other company comes close in such a tight knit ecosystem and user experience.
