Alabama Blue allows Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama members to access their health plan information on the go. Register or log in to: • Check your claims and benefits • View or email your ID card • Track your deductible and out-of-pocket spend • Find a doctor in your network • Communicate securely with Customer Service Use your myBlueCross username and password to access your online account from the app. You can also set up Touch or Face ID for quicker access. There is no charge from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama to download, but rates from your wireless provider may apply. Lacking UI and functionality
To make a long story short, this app needs a complete overhaul. First, has nothing on the traditional Blue Cross Blue Shield, anthem app. The UI appears to be from the early 2000s, the functionality is severely lacking. When I heard our company having Blue Cross Blue Shield, I thought I was getting top-tier insurance. As I investigated, we are forced with a non-for-profit organization that strips the plan down dramatically. I’ll be on that, the app just not very user-friendly. The functionality is severely lacking. My suggest, make a partnership with anthem to allow them to use their app.

It feels like critiquing an American health insurance app in a public forum will probably come back to bite me in a place that will magically not be covered by said insurance. Nothing Actually Applies To Deductible Nor Is In Network
So… been trying to get diagnosis and medication for ADHD and got suggestion from on site Doctor. Was told by the diagnostician that BCBS of AL would cover testing and it wasn’t . Now I am paying 200$ out of pocket AND it is considered out of network! Now it turns out my appointment to get meds is through a local facility where only certain practitioners are covered and the person i am scheduled with isn’t covered so this will be another wasted 120$ The app doesn’t provide accurate information!

Almost $20,000 in premiums annually. What you get out of it is a discounted member rate on services and prescriptions. It’s a joke. A $1 savings compared to cash price on medications. $0 paid towards blood work. Plus copays equal to the cash price of imaging like basic x-rays. Moving all my cash to HSA and dropping BCBS.

It feels as if every single time I try to file a prescription claim, I get some sort of error message. Not because I have filled something in incorrectly but that there is a BCBS app error. It is beginning to feel as if you hope the user will get frustrated enough and just not file the claim or forget to log in later and do it. I do make sure to keep the app updated. BCBS is great - my issue is just with the app.
