Overall, the knot has been perfunctory. It’s been somewhat helpful with finding vendors for my wedding day, and I appreciate the timeline with reminders of when specific tasks should be completed by. My biggest frustration, and a huge negative in my book, is their registry situation. They’re horrible about keeping it up to date with what’s in stock, and it seems like quite a lot of their items are. Definitely prefer using the desktop website, but it does not have all the same features the app has so I defer to the app. That would be my first and biggest critique. I love the progress bar that shows the RSVP information but it is not on the desktop website. Secondly, there are so many bugs. The mass texting being the biggest culprit. Unfortunately you cannot customize your mass texts, only an email. I anticipate that being resolved soon. Do not trust vendor reviews
The Knot has a policy that protects vendors against negative feedback back from legitimate customers. If you try to leave an honest review, the vendor can dispute that you are a customer (even if the vendor simultaneously reaches out to you apologizing for their bad service, therefore proving you are a customer). The Knot then requires you to submit specific documentation that you were indeed a customer, including signed contracts and receipts that have personal financial information. Deleted Vendor Review without Consent even though followed guidelines
One of my reviews was deleted (the only 3 star review I had for one specific vendor I had reviewed for, all my other vendors were either really great and got 5 stars, or I didn’t leave a review for the vendors that I didn’t feel did above and beyond). The vendor complained and lied that I had asked for “free services” when i did not and actually over paid in many ways, and I feel like I got scammed when she had over a year to do the flowers for my wedding. It was nice. I guess I’m unique because there was very little on the app that fit my vision. All my vendors I found on my own outside of the ap. I didn’t like that there wasn’t an easy way to collect addresses through the app, where you could share and people could add their own. This is a great resource for anyone planning their wedding. Everything is truly in one place. My only critique is that a few of the resources are a bit clunky to use. The wedding website feature has very few options. Also, because my venue is not on the knots website, I cannot input it into my account at all. The Knot app does not work very well on the iphone. customer service is not prepared to deal with us who don’t have computers. I do not own a computer. They keep telling me to use the computer. I keep reminding them, I don’t own a computer and so things just don’t work right. they keep repeating themselves telling me to do things again, and again that I’m telling them are I am unable to do. I based my wedding planning off this app! It was the best decision ever. As always wedding planning can be stressful and overwhelming, I was super overwhelmed in the beginning when every idea was being told or poured into me and I would need breaks from discussing anything wedding related because of how intense the stress was. Heather was a dream to work with. We had a small wedding and therefore only needed a small cake. I don’t know what I expected but this gorgeous cake didn’t look “small” at all.
The flavor was outstanding. The decorative buttercream and roses was perfect.
We changed flavors a few weeks prior to our wedding and Heather was incredibly accommodating which I appreciated because I can imagine that is probably annoying.

I’m pretty pleased with this app
This app and website really was useful, it provides the tools needed to get started with your wedding planning. I did not hire all of my vendors through the app simply because I did a lot of stuff DIY, however I did find my officiant, DJ & venue on this app and I am very pleased with the options they provided. There were a few things I did not use that the app does offer and that’s the budgeting system.
Everything else I utilized, they offer an area to put your guest list and the guest list will link to your wedding website (which they offer template for those too.) so RSVP can be made easy.

We chose the Knot after trying a few other platforms for a wedding website and registry. We liked that the website tools are flexible and let you build your site how you want it. The registry is just okay. It’s nice that the website allows guests to browse through all gifts from multiple stores. But it’s a little glitchy (ie sometimes shows items twice even though we’ve only registered for one). The biggest issue is glitches with the planning tools. My primary issues with the app are largely with the navigation and aspect ratio & differences between portrait and landscape. On an iPad at least, regardless of the orientation, I often find it difficult to press the back button to see other venues or switch to a different tab. Rather than a dedicated button to go back, why not just swipe to go back to the other sheet? The layout is quite beautiful in portrait mode however, when switching to landscape the app zooms in way too close to the pictures and so you have to scroll or zoom out to see everything. Horrible Site & App Since they Updated Logo
I have no idea what’s happened since they decided to change their logo, but literally the entire app is worthless. My wedding is in November and I’ve come very far with vendors and building the website and registry and now I’m literally afraid to update anything because I’m afraid my work won’t be saved. I have most all vendors booked and in the app when I click the vendor management it only shows a vendor as “checked” if they’re a vendor you can search for on The Knot’s list. When the Knot is not crashing on me, it’s a decent app. As far as organizing goes, it’s been helpful in getting our wedding plans together in one place.
My gripes? For one, I thought their RSVP system world aid in organizing who could make it to our rehearsal and who could not. So I set up for 12 recipients to receive an RSVP text. For as long as this site has been around I had high hopes. It’s now to me a shooting star fizzled out lol.

Miss the old logo + registry glitch
Agree with other reviews that the current hot pink logo isn’t my favorite. I think the previous color scheme felt far more professional and on brand with a wedding. Also, the registry page on the knot never fully updates to accurately show items that have already been purchased. It will say an item is still needed when it was purchased through the linked registry months ago. Has been confusing for a number of my guests and I would love to see a fix implemented.

I really appreciate having access to this app and all of its features, however, the website is stressful and glitches. This popular app seems really good when you start using it. The checklists and vendor search features had a better UX than Zola’s, so we started doing everything on The Knot. Knowing what we know now, we would have stayed away. Once we were in too deep to switch, this app started really letting us down. The Knot’s app is user-friendly and connects smoothly with the web version. In comparison with other wedding planning apps, I think it’s the best one out there. Other apps are glitchy and contains outdated vendor reccs. I like that The Knots suggests timeline events based on your wedding date, but some of the dates seem incorrect.
