Excellent app.

I have a 2026 GMC Sierra, and the mobile app is surprisingly complete and reliable. I can start the engine, lock/unlock the doors, check fuel level and tire pressure, and even locate the truck from anywhere. The interface is clean and easy to use. It’s truly a tradable feature — once you experience this level of control from your phone, it becomes a must-have. Great job, GMC.

I still don’t know why developers go and change the interface to make things more complicated. Old version, very simple, A big red button to start the vehicle, with lock and unlock icons on each side of it. Almost every time I need to use this app it wont let me until I go thru the update and login process. That’s BS. The app should simply inform you an update is available and let you continue with the version you’re using. When you’re using the app you don’t have time to wait. I’m letting everybody know that GMC and Gerald motors is being incredibly greedy. They have a beautiful screen for the Yukon in my instance the latest edition, however it constantly prompts for data subscriptions for data that’s already being used from my phone so they block out the maps and the map data and don’t allow you to use it seamlessly on your in your car because they’re trying to get more money in subscriptions ruining what would’ve been a perfectly seamless experience with your agreed to try and get whatever 10 or $20 a month out of every Auto owner. I spent an hour at the dealership picking up my new car with the engine running and the sales rep trying to get the OnStar reps to link my account I had to agree to terms several times in that period. Keys locked in car. App never works to unlock or lock car when I need it to.

My car always locks me out while my keys are still in it and my app never works when it happens. I’m not sure why I even pay for this anymore. It’s so frustrating… especially when my kids are still in their car seats, locked in the car, in 15 degree weather. Has happened at the very least five times. I’m glad I did

I was hesitant at first and the only reason I did it to begin with was because I locked my keys in my car. Having the remote start on the app is way better than the remote start on my keys. It reaches five times the distance now my car is completely warm when I get there. Plus, there might be some added satisfaction to calling OnStar if and at any point, I need it.

Starting my truck has never been easier

When I’m on the airplane and I get to the tarmac, I can start my truck and it’s warm when I get there If I had to change anything, I would pick a timer for the electric start and 10 minute increments or something like that. EV Limitation: Can’t Indicate Having a Tesla Adapter

There needs to be an option to manually tell the app/user profile that the user has an NACS adapter. Currently, the only way for the app to know if the owner has an adapter is if the adapter was purchased online through the user’s GMC profile. The dealer provided my adapter when I leased my Sierra EV, and there is no way to tell the app I have the adapter. Security Concerns

The app work great love it but here is a big security loophole about the app. 1. The app has no two factor authentication. If someone steals you log in information they can log it it now they got access to your car. 2. The app does not send critical notifications like when your windows are left open and when your doors are open. Basic Necessities

i am one who tries to live a frugal life and save wherever possible. Twice I cancelled myGMC app features to give it a whirl without, but eventually realized the value of the above mentioned. The app can be convenient when I am wanting to go for a walk/run and not take my keys with me. That’s the only real time I seem to use it. If that feature seems to be the only benefit, then I don’t see the point in keeping the service after it ends. Most of the time the maps function works well, shows correct fuel and oil, tires, etc. Locking and unlocking, start/stop, change temp works well. I do wish the app would show current status - “Locked and Running, temp set at 72” for example. On my third GMC Canyon (5th GMC vehicle) this app has trouble. Emails sent regarding rewards program do not link to your account. Spent over 1 hour trying to redeem loyalty points to buy mud flaps. We used to be able to adjust temperature of the vehicle when using remote start. Now, I can no longer do that and it’s forever set at 68 degrees. Are you going to have a fix for this soon? Mygmc app will not allow login

I have had my GMC vehicle for eight months. At first the app would not allow the remote controls (start, lights, etc) to function. This week, it stopped working functioning completely. I tried closing and restarting the app, and it would no allow me to login. I did all of the fixes suggested online. I called OnStar to get help. Plug and Charge

A feature of the app is supposed to be the Plug and Charge option for payment with select charging networks. Having enabled all available networks for my vehicle under my accounts public charging, the feature fails to work with my charging attempts. I finally enabled the AutoCharge feature on the EVgo app to allow that network to charge after plugging in. Best I can find , none of the other networks allow this option. Get half for full price

Been working for GM for years now. Set up OnStar hundreds of times and it has been difficult to say the least. Have had OnStar in most of my vehicles and always had problems receiving services. Have had my current vehicle for 8 months with the Basics for 8 years already in my MSRP. The app has some good features, but is also really frustrating. There are no real-time updates. Every time I want a status, especially with the charge level, I have to refresh the app. It doesn’t communicate with the vehicle until I do that, and then the refresh takes sometimes 30 seconds or more. Charging features.

It would be nice to have more features in the EV section of the app. For example, setting charging to start now or later, instead of having to do it from inside the car. The ability to turn charging on or off directly from the app would also be helpful — not sure why that isn’t available. Right now, if you’ve scheduled charging from inside the car but then want to start charging on the fly, you can’t. You have to go back into the car to change it. That feels odd and inconvenient. It would also be nice to see charging speed in MPH in the app, like you can in the car while it’s charging.

I’ve confirmed this app behavior with friends and people online. Whoever signs up as the “primary” user in the app can use the app to both start the vehicle AND adjust the temp (start button changes to temp button after starting). However, any user added to the vehicle as part of the “family” can only start the car. Afterwards, their start button just shows a countdown timer until the engine shuts back off. Connection to the car status just did not work. Got a connecting forever indicator. It would be nice to either log the user out or inform the user they need to re-login. After some searches I discovered some other people who had this issue and were able to remedy the problem by logging out and then back in again. That fixed it for me although it was a minor nuisance. Sounds like a refresh token issue to me. Perhaps you can look into this and fix in the next update.

I’ve probably bought 20 or more gmc trucks for business and pleasure. Recently I had a covered breakdown while working in Oklahoma, called my dealership in Alexandria to see if they could help.
