This was the only app that allowed me to create an account while outside the USA! I really like it and use it a lot. The app overall is great…but got a couple of ⚠️ MAJOR software bugs🐞 . I think they are “software bugs” because they are definitely not something intended to be there. The first bug (less severe than the 2nd bug) is that some text messages, after being sent out just disappear into thin air. My experience: when I send texts the recipient never gets them even though on my side its status shows delivered. This happens usually when I send multiple separate texts back to back(quick texting). Be careful if you choose to give text+ your money. They can suspend your account at any time, without any explanation, locking you out of paid minutes and services. The premium tech support is also a lie, as they often do not respond to emails and messages. If use this app, be prepared to randomly lose access to all of your text messages. Still waiting to find out if they ever respond. My advice is to look elsewhere. This app is extremely shady.

Scam your money
I had an account and no longer needed it, so I deleted it. Later on I needed it again, so I made a new account. I paid for it again and I wouldn’t get the benefits I paid for. These people tell me that my old account “no longer exists” but that if I pay for it, it goes to my account that “no longer exists”. Make it make sense. No one is willing to help. Their customer service is a broken record. They take your money with no resolution. It’s a scam.

We purchased a year subscription and they cancelled and blocked the account after one day of use. Then said they had no record of our account. Don’t buy, they will just take your money and not provide the service. Update: I received a generic response from the company that says submit a request for support through the App. I can’t do that because they blocked access to the app. I have communicated with their customer support via email and they claimed I violated terms and conditions but did not provide details or proof. Obnoxious ads and login requirements
The fact that you get repeated, inappropriate, unrelatable, advertising, and the fact that you are required to login via Apple, Google or Yahoo makes this service completely useless. Other services do not have those same requirements and do not have the same cost associated with removing any of those requirements. Been a customer for 10+ years, but going elsewhere going forward.

One small issue
I have been wanting an app so I can text friends. I have been using this app for…I kind of forgot how long- but anyways, it’s pretty good! However, I wish I didn’t have to be active on the app to see messages. What i mean by this is, let’s say I’m doing something other than texting; suddenly, I get a notification. Now, here’s the thing, I’m not active on this app, so when I hop onto the app, it doesn’t show the message. I’ve been using this app since 2020. It’s had its glitches over the years but overall it has been a lifesaver. I keep a few dollars credit on my account always and I’m careful to make sure I use the app at least once a month. It’s not as generous with allowing you to select numbers from anywhere as it used to be, but I’d rather have this app in a pinch than not have it.

Bunch of thief’s here is why I said so below
I opened a TextPlus account and paid for the premium service on August 10, 2025. After sending just a few messages to friends and business partners, I woke up on August 12 to find my account suspended without explanation. I reached out to customer care, but no one has responded to my case. This is unacceptable—I paid for a service I can no longer use, and I have not received any refund. I expect either my account to be reinstated immediately or my payment to be fully refunded. This experience has been extremely disappointing, and I hope TextPlus resolves it quickly.

Can’t log in
I’ve had this app for a long time but now the new sign in system won’t let me log in. I tried Apple. It didn’t like it. I tried Google. It didn’t like it. (Said there was another account and I needed to delete that account). I didn’t have a Yahoo account so I made that and it seemed to work but then it hung up on the step where it applied the information to the App and cycled endlessly. Then I saw the option for legacy account but I don’t remember my password and there is no way for the app the message my email with an override or a way to reset the password. I just deleted it at that point

My Textplus account hasn’t been reacting to network connection for a while now. I had to delete and reinstall but still it brought me directly into my account after reinstalling which is meant to show sign in or login but instead it logged in directly. This app has been my go to for YEARS if I need a text app. And just being able to do small tasks rather than having to pay out of pocket, especially when money is super tight!!! I have no complaints honestly just a really good app to have especially if you’re in a pinch, but can get WiFi, which if you’re in any city, it’s pretty easy if you’re able to get around easily (like if you can walk somewhere) or even if you have WiFi at home and your phone goes off.

Smh Years ago this app use to be the bomb! Now it’s dumpster juice! And by reading the comments majority have the same issue. Not being able to select a number whatsoever! And the same tired response given to everyone. We’re sorry due to blah blah blah. That makes me think there’s a hidden agenda! Or they are just flat out too lazy to update the app. Apparently there’s no genuine concern because they would have fixed it by now. I have bought credits on several times and this useless app charges me for the credit but never gives me what I paid for. This hasn’t just happened once or twice so believe me when I tell you this is just another scheme. Your recipients don’t get your texts on time or not even get it at all. By far the worst app to exist in Apple Store. There must be a way Apple can scrutinize apps like this before they allow them here on their store. All a SCAM
