Let me preface this by saying I decided to take my visiting sister and 85-year-old mother to spend the night in Wendover. I had taken her in November when she was out visiting in Salt Lake City and figured I’d do it again. Had no idea certain rooms were two elevators and 4 football fields away from the casino. So I’ve stayed there a few times I never once got told I had to pay a security deposit. We spent one night and we each had our own rooms. We were both so incredibly impressed with this property. The building appears to have recently been meticulously restored with all modern conveniences in a design forward manner. The beds were extremely comfortable, lighting was perfect, the shower had a rain head and had great pressure. There was a small fridge and coffee maker in the room along with a safe. The food was ok (not bad but also not the greatest) but the service was definitely top par. I did experience issues getting reservations for specialty dinners even though the package I bought included two. Also, there was a problem with my stay which they were not able to resolve (I bought a five day stay for a guest but they only ended up staying 2 due to an emergency and insurance was purchased as part of the package but I was unable to get compensation for the additional days that were unused). On the day of check out I left my portable Ninja blender in the refrigerator. I contacted the hotel and was told to leave a message and someone would call me back. Stayed here for 1 night prior to leaving for Berkley. Check in wasn’t so easy as it was difficult getting a hold of any front desk staff prior to 3pm. Was going to be charged some lousy booking hold of $300 but the front desk person waived it. The hotel is near several coffee shops and is off to the side of a very busy road. The booking is solid. The ability to cancel bookings and get money back is very nice. Other features such as moving bookings into a trip are stone-age. If you make the mistake of booking your hotels before discovering the “Trip” tab that allows you to put all your reservations in one neat little trip tab you’ll find that copy & pasting itinerary numbers is impossible. For some reason they set it up so the keyboard covers up the field you intend to paste into and you can no longer access it. We stayed in the upgraded King bed room. Bathroom was updated & nice. You get a fridge so that’s a plus too. I wish the tv wasn’t so far from the bed. Makes it difficult to watch. My major complaint is the paper thin walls! I booked a room for me and my girlfriend. When I arrived they said I only booked for one person even though I paid extra for breakfast for 2 people. The hotel insisted I must pay extra for an extra person. They didn’t care that my receipt clearly showed I paid for 2 breakfasts, the booking only said one person. When I made my account, regarding my email address, I selected the “hide my email” option that Apple provides. However, for some idiotic reason, when booking, and when entering an email address is required, there isn’t the same option to “hide my email”, let alone to ensure that it’d be the same “hidden email” so as to ensure that the booking is synced with one’s account. We were in room 205 and we were impressed by the apparent cleanliness and tidiness as usual (we have stayed there several times before and have always been very satisfied). The hotel is brand new! The rooms are comfortable. The front staff was nice. I did not like the AC seems to shut off either when you leave the room or maybe automatically idk. Weekend getaway- mom & 2 kids
We chose to book here on a whim & it did not disappoint. The staff went above & beyond! The included breakfast was great, the gentleman kept the area full of food, clean & tidy. The pool and hot tub were very clean and well kept (the pool could’ve been bigger). The location was perfect, traveling alone with 2 kids and never felt unsafe. Rooms were comfortable and big enough. Booked my stay through this app and drove 11 hours just to get to the hotel for them to tell my family our booking never went through but they took the money from us! This little Gem of a place has a great view of the water. We were in room #1. It was small but had wonderful decor with an amazing view. Once you’re in your quaint little room bedding down for the night, you will be thrilled with the roar of Amelia Earhart’s plane engine as she has returned from being lost 90 years. That noise you experience erupts from your rooms AC unit. There is nothing short of turning it off that helps but in July it’s too sweltering for that to happen. So pack your earplugs.. Walking in the front door, there was an offensive odor, checking in I was told we could cancel our reservation as the elevator was not working. There was nothing else in the area available at $169 per night, and, after being on the road for 7 hours, we were hot tired and wanted to freshen up. The hotel itself was very nice very comfortable, but the first lady that we met staff was rude and not accommodating would not let people check in early as soon as the other lady come on everyone could check in Carmen did a great job for it just being her first day from what I and believe me, the lady before her left a mess People’s rooms have been switched and she was having to try to get it straightened out. Beware of the pay at property option
I usually use choice hotels or IHG because I have rewards with them. Unfortunately, neither chain has options in the town I am going to. I chose to use this app. Since I have a different trip planned for this weekend and I will have another payday before the new trip I decided to choose the pay at property option. Ray loaned us menus from various restaurants, gave me plastic forks & spoons to eat takeout with, and came to the room to demonstrate the air conditioner. We met the second clerk at check out; he was very engaging & friendly. The bathroom shower is in serious need of renovation, and under the bed, I found a lipstick & a bottle cap. The rest of the room was clean, the bed was comfortable & the AC window unit kept our room cool. This is the 3rd time we are staying at this hotel. It is the most convenient and comfortable hotel we have found in Kyoto. The rooms are ‘western size’ which is great for our western sized bodies! The rooms can use a little updating and is starting to show wear and tear but is still very comfortable. We took full advantage of the free shuttle that runs every 20 minutes between the hotel and the train station that is both reliable and organized. This place deserves 10 stars. The staff is incredible, always eager to please. We stayed multiple nights in a one bedroom king suite that had 800 square feet of living space.
