Many people have asked for call recording. So, we have worked extremely hard to provide it in this version of Recorder.
Since we have to work directly with the phone company to provide this service, there is a per minute fee, and it only works in the US.
The recorded calls work seamlessly along with your other recordings. You can WIFI sync, trim and email them like any other recording.

I have use this recording up for many years… And for the most part it’s great and does what you need to do. But just recently I had accidentally left the recorder going long after the period of time that I needed to record, and wanted to trim the recording. Every other single editing program in the world that I’ve used that has a cut function can cut out parts of the recording that you do not want. Always works, love the phone-record feature!
I have used Recorder on every phone I’ve had since I bought it, years ago. That includes a 5S, 6+, 6S + and my 7+. Works perfectly with each one.
It is an outstanding recorder for daily use in capturing audio in many situations. I use it when I want to document or remember a conversation. And occasionally for phone calls.
Recorder’s best benefit is the superb quality of its phone call recordings. Easy to use, always effective. It’s simple to retrieve the audio files and edit them — or to transfer them to another app or to a Mac or PC for more extensive editing.

First, the recorder started losing voice memos. That was bad, and customer service, once they finally responded, basically just shrugged and said there’s no automatic backup of the memos and there’s nothing they can do. But they said calls were automatically backed up online so I didn’t need to worry about losing them. Well, guess what? The last two phone calls I’ve made weren’t recorded online. When I go to the wifi sync page they show up as null. I don’t know what happened, this used to be a great tool. But no longer.

THE BEST QUALITY RECORDINGS ON AN IDEVICE
This is app is literally the best app for recording any audio on an iDevice. Idk what they've done but it comes out with the best sounding recordings for music out of any app I've bought. It's great for musicians who wanna get quick clean live recordings. Just make sure you're not blowing out the mic and for drummers usually the "sweet spot" is about 15-20ft away and maybe muffle the mic with a thin pillow. Absolutely wondrous sound. Can hear every nuance and articulation, same with any other instruments. And for voice calls, it also again reigns supreme! The ONLY gripe I have is not having a

Retronyms Loses Recordings
The amount of problems with this app are astounding. It doesn't record. It doesn't play back. Their tech support is sloooow and don't know how to fix anything. There are too many glitches for them to keep up with.
When Retronyms upgraded to their newer version, they LOST two very important recordings I needed.
Apparently, someone paying you by the minute for backup storage on recordings doesn't mean that it's a priority to actually store the recordings.
They have no phone number available for tech support, so I had to wait for emails from a very nice and well-meaning customer service rep…w

Can't get it to record
I cannot get this app to record at all. It will not even call the person, and once it even called someone whose number I did not input. I was trying to call my mother and it called a total stranger who answered the phone in a different language. I am surprised that this app has so many good reviews, but it is truly a useless app. I regret the .99 cents I spent on it, and the additional 1.99 I spent for an hour block of recording. Three Years of Work... Gone?!
I hold out hope that a future version can fix what this version ruined, but the realist in me has started the grieving process. I'm a songwriter who used this app to vocally flesh out ideas, over the course of months or even a year or two. When I boot up the app and find that all my almost-there ideas won't play, I feel like while I thought I was immortalizing fleeting flickers of inspiration to congregate as songs, in actuality I was just corralling lambs for the slaughter.

Recordings lost, AIFF gone
I upgraded to version 11.3 and I lost a huge number of recordings. I could not download anything, nor play any files. Yes, I should have backed up before hand, my fault..however the file format has changed, so now instead of AIFF I get .wav files, which iTunes cannot open - quick time cannot open either. There must be an extra bug because generally I can open .wav files on iTunes, so something else is wrong. A big disappointment, since I used to use this app to quickly jot down all my musical ideas.

Been using this for 3 years. Best one out there. Updated the other day and now my new recordings all sound like low quality. No crisp, high end like I need for musical recordings. I checked the quality setting and it is on high. Reinstalled, rebooted, etc. Tried a few other recorders and I get high quality on those. Please fix! Love this app and don't want switch! Hesitant at first, but glad I purchased!
I interview a lot of musicians for my job, and I like to record my phone calls, but i could not find a good way how. I was hesitant to buy this app after seeing the not so great reviews, but i tried it and it worked to perfection. A Great Little Product, and Great Customer Service
I think this is a terrific product. I am a history student who needed to record several outgoing calls as primary research for a paper on a fairly recent event. I recorded a good half-hour of material in my first call. While I did have one problem--it failed to download correctly to my iPhone--I had a very pleasant experience with their customer service reps and was able to download the file quickly after letting them know. Poor connections for recording calls...
Purchased to record calls for training purposes. Interface was great and easy to use. Worked well about 2 out of 5 calls (see rating)... On the other 3 however, the person on the other end complained of a "bad connection" and had difficulty hearing me. Was forced to hang up and call back without Recorder, and the connection was "perfect".
Was super excited when I found this and happy to pay the $/min if it worked. But it didn't. Let me know when you've fixed the connection issue. Thx.

NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME
Great concept; failed execution. Sound quality on this app makes unusable. Sorry I did not buy it with more time to test before an important call, as I wasted buying minutes ahead of time for that call. Once on the call, the person on the other end complained endlessly about call quality, even after I dialed in a second time. Finally had to resort to a landline speakerphone and manual recorder unit. (BTW, 4-5 bars on my cell phone during call – this was not AT&T's fault.)
If the developer is watching, I want a refund of the $13 spent on an 8 hour recording block I can never make use of.

Solid good quality simple recorder
This app is a solid high quality fast and easy to use audio recorder, which has decent invisible compression that keeps recordings from overloading. Select high quality recording in settings.
Transfer of files is a breeze with wifi. Had an accidental erasure once and tech support helped with good advice for extracting file from backup by suggesting good utility app that did the job.
I've recorded many shows and band rehearsals with excellent results. Tip: find the physical sweet spot first.

Forget the $ gripes, this thing never tells you that, unless you go into "More Options," find "Settings," and turn off the default notification, every one of your calls begins with a statement to the callee by some British chick saying "This call is being recorded by Recorder for iPhone." That same announcement is played for YOU before the call is placed, but it's played for the other party in the blind, before you are connected. No wonder nobody continued the call! Duh. A little transparency about this from the seller would have been nice.

I've downloaded several recorder apps, and all but this one have disappointed me. I've used Recorder to record sensitive phone calls, interview hi-profile clients, and document important meetings. To me, the most important thing is that the recorder DOESN'T FAIL in a sensitive (i.e. one shot) situation. When your phone logs out, or if you exit and use other apps, the recorder KEEPS GOING. The status bar of your phone glows red so you know it is still recording even when your phone is outside of the password screen. Totally solid, and barely any battery drain.

Beware. Does not work. No support
The app promises the ability to sync recordings between iPhone and Mac/PC but the web address provided is broken. So if your recording is small enough, you can mail it to yourself. But if it exceeds the rather small limit which can be emailed, then you are stuck with the recording on your iPhone and you cannot transfer. I requested support to help with this issue and received no reply. This makes the app useless and actually misleading. I ended up having to play the recording back and record it onto a digital recorder so as not to lose it.
