Ridiculously sadistic design.
This app is pointless on anything other than a switch. Sure they offer special pokemon if you transfer every single available pokemon at each step of their evolution progression from a specific game, but that ruins the entire fun of the game. This app can connect to the games, you shouldn’t have to transfer every single available pokemon at every stage of evolution just so it recognizes that you did it, & it shouldn’t be specific to the game. Good app but can be buggy and annoying
In theory, this is a great app. I love being able to view all my Pokémon from anywhere. The GTS and surprise trades are great, and offers something to actually do with the mobile version of the app. However, the app can be incredibly buggy at times compared to its switch counterpart. It will freeze and simply not respond to any commands, although the background music and animations keep playing. The user interface can also be annoying and confusing, there are things you can click on that change the metrics or other things on screen, but they do not explain what exactly they did. Great app, but needs a few touch ups.
I absolutely love the ability to trade Pokemon and earn rewards but there are a couple issues I would like to go over with whoever is reading this. 1. The trading mechanic is very sloppy when it comes to people crushing your hopes and dreams for example when I was looking through trades I was looking for a koraidon. And somebody wanted a paldean whooper for one. I perked up until I realized that they wanted it to travel to Pokemon “let’s go pickachu and let’s go eevee” which made the trade impossible to happen. I’ve been using this service since Pokémon Bank first came out and been a trainer since Red and Blue came out in the states. This service has been able to bring my Pokémon along with me over the years.

Every version of Pokemon Home works differently from each other. You can use trade on your PHONE but not on your console (where you actually play the games). You can organize boxes on your CONSOLE but not on your phone (where it would be easier) The console version also has a fun quirk where sometimes it won’t save your boxes after literally hours of work, completely wasting your time. This is a great game but there are some things that I think need to be added. First, make it to where you can just search for just shiny Pokémon or no shiny Pokémon and when you deposit Pokemon to trade when your putting in the Pokémon you want for it you should be able to say if you want it to be shiny or not. The longer i use the app the more frustrated i get with it. The free version is intentionally slowed down and speeds up to normal speed when you pay for it. That’s wrong. *Helpful tips to users* You can just get a lv 100 legendary, take it to a brand new game and breeze through it if you’re not interested in the actual gameplay. Or if you want to get a different legendary. Or pretty much anything you can think of. Once you complete either Let’s Go game and get all 4 legendarys and Mew if possible, transfer them over!

TLDR: it’s so slow it will drive you crazy.
As a developer myself, this app is almost kind of insulting. I feel like even a low to the ground studio should uphold a certain amount of development integrity, much less a multi million dollar franchise. Pokémon go Pokémon should be able to transfer
I love Pokémon HOME. It’s a good source full app for when I want to get my Pokémon from my old games like Pokémon sword and shining pearl to my Pokémon, scarlet and violet, but it doesn’t work the best with Diancie from Pokémon go, I can’t transfer it into Pokémon violet my game. I think that that means to be fixed because I don’t really like that about it. Every other feature is cool. I downloaded Pokémon home so I could trade a miraidon for a koraidon and also for other Pokémon in my Pokédex. So for my first trading experience I went to room trade and went into a random trade room and selected my miraidon unaware that after the timer has gone to zero that it would automatically trade my miraidon. I thought that I would need to press a button to confirm that I would like to trade my Pokémon and choose out of the different offers to trade from but I didn’t choose anything and had my miraidon automatically traded for a Litten that I didn’t even need. Buggy blatant cash grab
This is what happens when you let companies get away with micro transactions and subscription services. GTS, the stat calculator, and extra boxes should all have been included in the main game. This is basic quality of life stuff that is now behind a paywall (a fairly significant one too if you consider the cost of Nintendo’s online plan). Instead of a robust in-game system we have a fragmented, buggy app that’s prone to crashing 😕 and we have to extra for it. Any special moves we worked hard to chain breed onto our favorite creatures disappear and only abilities are preserved.

As all the other issues mentioned in other reviews. I wish this app would allow you to sync all Pokédex data from your games to the national dex in the application. In order for you to have Pokémon register it requires you to add the Pokémon from whatever game to the app to complete the Pokédex. Which I understand but it’s frustrating as you have to take your Pokémon from your game to add to this to compete the dex. Transferring Pokémon can be risky at times and can’t really be done without 0 risk so the fact that you have to physically take your Pokémon from the game to add to this app is jus

Nothing’s perfect…
I have loved using this app. But this could be better. I would love if there was some sort of a battle simulator to level up Pokémon and also make the game more fun for people who don’t have the Nintendo switch version. Also could you make random encounters for every half hour for getting more Pokémon? Great, but things need to be desperately added
OK the application is still good and it works fine but things need to be added.
There needs to be an option in the GTS for you requesting a Pokémon in a trade whether the Pokémon you want is a shiny or not like a checkbox. I’ve wanted to put a shiny ditto up for trade for another potential shiny but I have no way of making sure that the Pokémon I want in return is a shiny without some sort of option that explicitly restricts it to being a shiny Pokémon in return.
The second and most important thing is there needs to be a way to mitigate these people who keep requesting level 100 trimmed

The transferring of Pokemon and the non-GTS trading mechanics are all perfectly fine and do exactly what’s expected. Pokémon Home is a great utility for finishes Pokédex’s and bringing Pokémon from previous games into the newer ones. The glaring flaw of the app is the GTS. Good when it works but lately is unusable
The app has good functionality and friendly user interface but the daily communication errors making it impossible to access anything have become unbearable. Several times a week it will refuse to load, showing me a different error each time, until I’m forced to delete the app, log back in and connect to my Nintendo account all over again. I used to use this app several times a day because surprise trade is really fun but, because of these infuriating issues, will open it maybe once every other day usually to be met with more loading issues.

Great app for completing your dex!
I honestly love this app! The app allows me to place the pokemon I caught to fill the dex, I honestly like it very much! But, i do wish just one thing (and i hope the Pokemon Company International reads this). I would absolutely love that the app automatically updates the dex every time you catch a pokemon. Lets say your playing Pokemon Sword and you caught a Magikarp, and you go to the app, select the Pokemon and place it into the app’s box for updating the dex. I really want to like this app more than I do. I’m trying to make a universal shiny dex through casual play so I bought a premium pass but the app needs a lot of work. It’s laggy and slow in essentially every way. It takes a solid 30-45 seconds to deposit a full 10 Pokémon into the wonder box. Searching for Pokémon in the trade system doesn’t work most of the time so I just don’t use it. Random room trades take forever to fill and there’s nothing to do while you’re in them. Pokemon home could be way better. People should not be able to trade a Pokemon for that same Pokemon. Example: walking wake for walking wake is a big no no. Firstly, this is a great app! Iv’e found it useful for many things. But I do have 2 ideas that I think would help a lot, and make the app better. First of all, I’d like to say that this app is great for all of its functions and features. The only problem I have with it is that recently, it crashed. Every time I try to go back into it, it makes me redo the sign in process, including the account linking. That, at first, didn’t seem like a big deal until when I tried to link my account. When I first found out about this, it was because I had picked up Pokémon GO and was able to get a Mystery Box that lets me catch Meltan to my heart’s content. Once again the devs of Pokémon home have arbitrarily decided not to allow transfers to and from their new games until a minimum of FOUR MONTHS after the games come out. So I’ve had this for a bit and it has been amazing but there are a few hiccups that would make the game so much better, I was wondering if there was a way if possible to have held items carry over?
