It’s Giving WeWork before the fall

So much is well done: clean, wood veneer rather than carpeted floors, modern feel, great location in cool buildings, and then there are the actual operational deficiencies. Ours had 2 identical looking street entries and bc we were visiting, we were not familiar, and soon learned that crossing the threshold into the door for longer term stays meant a stern call out meant to make all look at us in dismay- like we thought we’d waltz into Studio 54 ahead of Andy Warhol. Clean towels were a coin toss on any given day even though a fat stack sat on the groundskeeper or whatevs counter. Thought my

Mariott merger has broken lots of stuff

I would have said once upon a time this was an incredible app. It’s still OK about the integration with Marriott has really broken lots of things. I never know when links aren’t going to work, there are literally just completely broken links between the two hotel chains which aren’t html the user verification was touch and go and just didn’t work at all across multiple devices last time I had to do it. This is my first stay at a Sonder (@ The Boylston in Seattle). I’m pretty impressed by the whole experience so far. I appreciate the chic, clean aesthetic as well as their tech-forward approach to pretty much everything involved with the stay. This app along with the service that accompanies Sonder is absolutely top notch. 5⭐️ 10/10! I went on the app & began a chat which was immediately answered by a real person ever single time. I asked for a blanket & was provide with a brand new within 20 mins of my request. It is exceptionally clean. I love the fitness center & spa. The building is immaculate. Security is 24/7 & they are helpful & kind as well. The Lobby is beautiful, warm & tranquil. I would absolutely stay here again & recommend others to experience this service as well! Too much hassle and too much data required.

I’ve been a customer since 2022, and when I tried to book recently, they required an incredible amount of my personal data. My money is green on Hotwire, so why do I need to submit a side to side selfie and front and back of my ID in order to book a room? I was told this was in order to prevent hassle, but this was all hassle. Also, initially I was kicked off the app in the middle of a verifying myself and had to start over. This resulted in two reservations being made. I had to call customer service twice in order to complete the reservation. It ate up my time. How is this not a hassle? C

There is no way to provide feedback or report bugs in the app so I’m doing that here. It appears there is a bug where if you try to login using Google with multi factor authentication and you already have an account that’s connected with an email you get a response that says there’s an account already attached to this email which is fine however, if you try to create a new account using Google multi factor authentication then, it just keeps telling you the same thing that there’s already a account associated but it didn’t let me try with my new account

Unable to book

I have never even stayed at a sonder. But for some reason they continue to flag me every time I book a stay. They send me an email that I was flagged and they only book with people they are confident won’t violate house rules. They have no way to speak to a representative from the department that handles that issue. You can only “get help” via email. However the last time I responded via email laying out all the facts proving they have no reason to flag me and cancel my upcoming stay they ignored me and never responded. I am the only one of my friend group who cannot book her at the same time

Amazing with refunds

I booked a stay with Sonder and after I paid for everything and checked out, I totally forgot about the $50 promo discount that I had. So I asked Sonder if is there any way I could apply it even though I already paid for the stay and someone got back to me within 10 minutes and they asked for a picture of my discount that I had and I sent it to them and they literally did it instantly and I got the refund back. The bed is amazingly soft and comfortable and there is no appreciable noise from inside nor outside despite it being located right in the heart of the capital hill district. Upon my arrival to the 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms deluxe apartment I didn’t notice how dirty the apartment was since I checked in after 9pm on Thursday, January 12, 2023 and I was exhausted so I went straight to sleep. From the time of walking in, to leaving (I’m actually still here), the experience was amazing. So comfortable for the purpose of my stay, so private. Fully stocked loft style apartment, from cookware to something as simple as laundry detergent. My husband was working during our stay so I was able to rest in the bedroom and he had the living room area. The views of the city are good; lots of traffic. Stayed with another couple in a two bedroom two bath on second floor at a very reasonable rate as we booked early. Was able to do so due to great cancellation policy which is most important when one is a senior. Very spacious, very clean. Beds were very comfortable. This app’s user experience is pretty bad

This is a perfect example of what happens when the developer chooses some HTML framework to save themselves time instead of writing a native app. This app seems to work ok as long as you don’t ask much of it. I switched away from the app while text chatting with a Sonder employee and when I came back, there was no way to return to the chat. The chat field often ends up partially covered by the keyboard so you can’t see what you’re typing. Dialogs won’t always respond when you click the close widget. Although I enjoyed staying in the Sonder, I wanted to take the time to draw attention to the things that were major disappointments. The apartment was beautiful, big, spacious and well decorated. I felt safe going and coming. The foyer downstairs always smelled good and refreshing. First, I was not happy with the level of cleanliness in the unit. My first time using Sonder and I will definitely be using it again (I booked through Booking). Everything is so easy. The apartment is absolutely lovely. The app functions well, and customer service is easy to contact. I’ve been looking for an alternative to Airbnb for a while and this is it. We were quite pleased with our stay in Battery Park. The price was affordable and we got a whole modern, fully equipped studio to ourselves. But once we had been there for a couple of days we noticed the devil in the details.
