Description
Completely redesigned for 2014, iControlAV5 gives you complete control of your compatible Pioneer AV Receiver and Blu-ray Disc player using your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
(*A note regarding AV Receiver compatibility: iControlAV5 works with compatible AV receivers. A complete list of compatible models is available below. )
Not only can you control the basic features of your AV receiver like volume, switching inputs, select the listening mode and power on and off. iControlAV5 turns your iOS device into an advanced remote control, giving full control (i.e. SOUND EXPLORER) of your new AV receiver, and in a fun and intuitive way.
Designed for both iPhone and iPad, the iPad version has a unique user interface specifically designed to take advantage of the iPad device's larger screen.
*Set the network standby --> "ON" beforehand, you can turn ON your AV receiver with iControlAV5.

2026, Still works for me
Not sure how I'm lucking out but it works for me thankfully. I did do a factory reset on the receiver and a full setup. I can also connect through the IP address on my browser when on the same network

buggy and constant fail
Oct 2025, very last day, they made sure to wreck/end any ability to control the Pioneer of mine.
The app worked the day before ON ALL THE MACHINES I installed this app on.
Then on the last day, NONE of them worked... didnt see the amp.
All the Airplay and BT wireless features work still, but refuses to show the amp on the same network now.

Yup. On a couple machines that worked this app fine just days ago. Deleted app, rebooted, tried diff freq. on my wireless, NONE REACH IT NOW.
yes yes yes did all the typical “do this” garbage and none “sees” the pioneer now, DO NOT WASTE MY TIME BLAMING ME like is usual of trolls and “companies”, Pioneer doesn’t support this app for ages and officially wants it dead, same way they torched Internet Radio sections my model has, several years ago

I really liked the convenience of this app over the remote. Especially since my receiver was hidden away.
Unfortunately it has always been finicky app when it comes to connecting to the receiver.
Now it doesn’t matter since my 5-year old receiver (SC-1227) got the dreaded UE22 error just after the warranty expired and is now a useless brick!

Will never purchase a pioneer product ever again. I spent good money on my receiver for the sole reason of being able to hook it up to my network. The every 3 year updates to the app are ridiculous, and pioneer should be ashamed of themselves for ignoring long time customers. Never again.

Icons and Control
Great app. You can customize the input names to match your gear. For example, you can change BD to Playstation 4 if that is the HDMI port you have your PS4 plugged into. Be nice if you could pick the icon as well, instead of seeing a bluray disk icon.
Overall control is super easy to use.
Would be 5 stars with a few more mods.
