It was great for 9 months while it lasted
This app and my annual Apple Store subscription worked fine for over 9 months and without warning on the evening of 5/5/26, all of my devices using the STARZ app became disconnected. I was not able to log in as well. STARZ support was no help. I have several streaming apps and subscriptions through Apple that work 100% perfectly, yet, the STARZ app and subscription is now not accessible. STARZ support replied they can not help me since my IPS address or related connection has been blocked by them. Why? They couldn’t even tell me. I hope they fix this app soon. I like watching shows on my way to work while I on the train, I download episodes on this app and if I have no service they just wouldn’t play or don’t continue playing once I lose service, what’s the point of being able to download it? Also the player sometimes randomly closes and you have to go back to the episode to see it doesn’t even save the spot you were watching it at. Problems with logging in on the Apple TV or Apple devices using TV login
OK on the STARZ app if you’re trying to login on the Apple TV and it’s not recognizing your TV provider credentials but also on the phone on the tablet is letting you login without your TV credentials for some crazy we start to reverse but yet it needs to be fixed to wear cause you can log in on the Apple TV cause I’m not dead on the phone on the tablet, but it didn’t ask for the TV. Somebody had to pull the app off added I’m gonna ask you do you want to use your Tv credential talent note and you login and accept that login but once they recognize that it’s logged in on the phone out of tablet

So many problems!!
I was given the opportunity to subscribe for $2/month for a year as a gift for making a purchase online. Almost immediately I noticed how slow the app is and how much it randomly freezes. I have fiber internet and excellent cell service but it still doesn’t matter. It literally takes 30 seconds to just skip forward 10! If you leave the app, it will not save where you left off like most apps do with a “continue watching” section. And lastly, I downloaded about 7 different things to watch later and now they’re gone. I canceled the subscription and they still trying to charge my account.
I’ve canceled when my first year was over and I don’t want this streaming service anymore. So why are they still trying to pull out of my account after I’ve cancelled twice now. Also why do you have to hit cancel 8 times. If I want to cancel then I want to cancel not asked if I am sure 8 freaking times. I also have screenshot of my confirmation of cancellation both times. I would never use this app if 50 cents power series wasn’t based on this app, without the series this app is total garbage I paid for no ads but they find any way to show there horrible tv shows/movie ads/trailers and then the app it self is always bugging somehow. Do NOT Use!
I have no idea how I ever got signed up for this, but we don’t use this app. We don’t watch any of their other programming. Yet they charge me randomly several times throughout the month. I have tried every way but they refuse because they say they can’t find my account?! I send them screenshots of my credit card, the last four digits and every email address that I own. Glitches and Deletes
I live on the side of a mountain and don’t have access to Internet at my house. In order to use this app at home I have to download movies or episodes while I’m at work and then watch them when I get home. Movies will show up under downloads and show that they’re fully downloaded, but when I get home it’s on the download list, but is no longer downloaded on my iPhone. The only reason subscriptions is because of the feature, but it doesn’t work.
When I have access to the Internet and attempt to stream, the app glitches and restarts itself randomly. I am not happy with the quality of the app,

I love the product!!!! Yet the price experience could use a little work. There are some bugs that need fixing. 1 the app has a tendency to glitch when paused it may crash. Two things: 1. For whatever reason, whenever I try to download anything, not only does it take forever, but it will make it seem like my download is there, but when I check again later, it disappears almost instantly. 2. 6 Connected Device Limit
The service has two limits. How many devices you can stream to simultaneously, and how many devices you can have connected at a time. It’s 6 devices for how many connected, so I have to keep disconnecting devices through their web interface to be able to sign in on another. That limit is so small. Subpar experience for watching downloaded content
It’s strange to me that, if you download shows to watch, (1) the downloaded episodes don’t appear in the continue watching section, (2) if you don’t finish an episode you’ve downloaded in one sitting, when you come back to it later, the app defaults to the beginning of the episode instead of where you left off, and (3) randomly all your downloads will disappear. Really good aside from one thing
This is a really good service to have and has a bit of everything on it. My only complaint is with the previews in the beginning. Nowadays it’s pretty normal to have them but if you’re paying for an ad-free version you usually can skip them with a quick click. On here you can’t do and you have to skip ahead and even then it makes you watch at least 4-5 seconds of the preview before letting you watch whatever you want. It’s definitely still worth it despite this but would love to see this changed

Resume Playing option missing
Does anyone else experience this? Every time I start a movie and have to pause it, leave the app, and go back into it later, I try to go back to the movie I was watching and can’t go right back to the same movie and start back at the exact same spot I was paused. Every time. There’s never a ‘Resume Playing’ option. Am I missing something? Does anyone else see this option available? I have to search for the movie and start it all over again and then fast forward to the part where I paused it. Super annoying.

I hate this app! The only reason I have it is to watch Outlander so have paid for it for years now. Have always used my Apple TV but did buy a new television set when I moved. Now, I can’t stay logged in to watch my show; I get kicked out and then run into issues trying to log back in. No Parental Controls!!!
There is no way to restrict access to an adult profile. You can set up a profile with restrictions for your child, but the child can just change over to your adult profile, no way to lock them out of it. The only way to set parental controls is to set the same controls on all profiles and use your pin to let you, as the adult, watch what you want, every single time you want to watch something more adult than you set the profile for. I can’t forward the video within the app on my phone without expanding or making the screen smaller. I have to make sure that that 10 times forward is present on the screen. Great selection but never picks up where I left off
This is a review about the app not pricing or the actual streaming service. I can't tell u how many times I have rewatched the same 30 minutes or half to continuously fastforward through an episode only to find out in actually half way through the next episode because it nevers picks up where I left off & then it's hard to find the episodes so I have to open the search click the title to select Mt season & find the episode that I'm actually on. The most basic feature is beyond the capabilities of the STARZ app
Why is it that if you are in the middle of watching a show, it does not show up on your homepage for easy access. Additionally when you pause an episode and want to go back in later, it starts you from the beginning and you have to manually search for the part you were up to? Poor Experience
I do whatever I can to avoid streaming on the Starz app. Here are the biggest problems:
- It does not keep track of a movie’s progress between sessions; instead, I have to restart (and watch ads again!!!!) then scroll to the point where I left off.
- The main menu does not appear to have a “Continue Watching” section.
- Before every movie there are terrible ads that cannot be skipped.
- A distracting Starz watermark periodically appears in the lower right corner, taking me out of the movie experience.
- There is no option to disable the “up next”recommendations that cover the end credits, and

I couldn’t login to the account and when I tried to make one it said I already had an account but the account that I had which I paid the 2.99 didn’t let me watch anything without paying again. Terrible customer service I reached out and they blamed Apple for not having my credentials and when I contacted apple they said I had an account and it was STARZ account services. It seems that they were able to find my account to cancel it, but since I paid a year in advance, they could not find my account to provide a credit . They didn’t even think about it and disconnected me when I asked. I should not have to freakin ask, when you cancel service that’s prepaid the refund should be automatic. The app works on my iPad better than on my tv, but still not great to cast to tv. I’m using Apple TV for streaming apps and Starz is the only one with major glitches*. The app has incredible content: so many good shows and movies also tons of great originals.
The app does new releases properly!! They release new episodes and content IN THE APP FIRST for direct paid subscribers at midnight, THEN for cable subscribers later same day
