ComEd’s free app allows you to easily access your account information on the go. The app makes it simple to manage more than one account at a time and is available to both residential and business customers on your smartphone or tablet. You can report your outage and stay up-to-date on the restoration status from anywhere. Key features include:

Identify low cost usage times
The variability of the cost for electricity is much greater than I would have thought. We try to use our major appliances when lower costs are on the schedule to keep our utility bills are moderated.

Buggy
Freshly downloaded this app (so app was up to date) and it won’t let me get past the sign in screen. I signed in and verified myself by phone number three times and it just closes the sign in window and returns me to the sign in screen. The actual website for com Ed is also buggy and doesn’t work. Do better. Especially since you basically have a monopoly.

Payment plan
Nothing but problems with ComEd’s payment plan.
During the summer they had me pay $0
Then when winter came they told me they made an error and that I owed hundreds to reduce my payments. I was Paying $30 - $40 per month now it’s $130 .
When I called them about this error that they made they said it didn’t matter that they made the mistake and that I had to pay it anyways even tho it was their mistake.
It should have been stretched out but they falsely billed me $0 during the summer months .

Good info when it’s up and running
The app has good information about our account and current electricity prices, but it is pretty unreliable. For example, the hourly pricing information is often unavailable, which makes it hard to decide on large electricity uses (laundry, etc). It also seems to log me out every few days. Not a big issue, but a nuisance when you want to look at something quickly.

Horrible app
If I could leave 1 stars I would. I have attempted to change my auto pay using the AUTOPAY OPTION ON APP!!! I had changed my bank acct multiple times and they keep taking out of old acct and I'm getting charged! I called and they said the app and the account don't connect. They said that's not an issue and I should just call. Horrible.

Hourly Rate
I like being able to check the hourly KW rate. The problem with the app is that once you get to the hourly rate screen, you can’t get out of it. If I want to go back to the opening page of the app, I have to completely close the app and start over. The “X” on the hourly rate screen is worthless

Can’t navigate back from checking hourly pricing
EVERY time I check the hourly pricing rate in the app I can never get back to any other pages in the app. I have to close the app and restart to do anything else with the app. Pressing the X button to close the hourly pricing pop-up does not work.

Forced Storm Mode is the worst
update: on iOS latest version, cannot close the hourly pricing page. I use the app to check hourly pricing and time of day costs. When the app switches to storm mode, it disables this ability. Give me the option to turn off storm mode or continue to display hourly pricing when it’s on. This is very frustrating when storm mode is forcing itself on every few days.

Let me use cc for auto pay
It’s so dumb that you’re the only one that won’t let me use my credit card for auto pay. Damned if I’m giving you my checking account numbers so that means I have to sign on every month. To pay my bill. And now you’ve made it harder because I have to identify me 25 different ways. I thought paying bills online was supposed to be easier? It might be easier to just send you a check.

Ever since Com Ed dropped ‘MyFreeChecking’, and started using their app, I have not been able to use the app at all. After 1.5 years of trying to use it I still can’t. I have emailed their technical support over 20 times. They have responded, but none of their solutions has fixed the program. I have to keep an email that they sent me to pay my bill. But this month, Nov 2025, even that’s not working. My bill is due in 2 days. I guess I’ll have to go back to paying my bill like I did 25 years ago, by phone. App crashes.
It worked before but now it’s just crashes. Trying to make a payment, but I can’t even get the app to open. I forced the app closed and shut my phone down and restart it. I’ve updated the app and still the same thing. I am using an iPhone 11 with iOS 16.7.2.
How frustrating.
Update : App still crashes constantly. In fact, it won’t even fully open. I’m now running iOS 18.1.1 and it’s still does the same. Tried forcing the app closed and reopening, shutting off and restarting my phone. It still does the same. The app is junk.

Worthless App - Most features don’t work
Downloaded this App after a ComEd lineman was working on installing new services at the house being built in the neighborhood. He mentioned to several of us what a great tool it was to get a picture of electrical usage and ways to save. Well, it basically is a paperweight on my laptop as most all the features don’t work. It’s worthless to me because if I click on “my usage data” it spins endlessly without showing any data. Clicking on “my home data” says unable to retrieve data, try again later………it’s been 2 months, how much later should I wait? Click on “top 5 energy tips”, same thing…

Poor app
The UI on this app looks awesome but it’s extremely buggy. My bills never show up correctly and am constantly having to contact customer support. My bill says it is $240 this month, but then the bill breakdown says it’s only $97, and the actual pdf of the bill just won’t appear. The usage statistics don’t work. It’s 2025 guys, this stuff really is not that hard to get right.

Awful experience
The app itself is nice and intuitive but the customer service and overall experience is awful. The app keeps telling me my stop service has already been processed but it obviously hasn’t since they continue to charge me at my old address. Customer service is not present and impossible to reach. No matter how many tickets you put in, they continue to charge you.

Accessibility challenges
I use the Comed app to pay my bill. I use it on my iPhone using Apple‘s VoiceOver program which speaks items on the screen for blind people, however, the app is not completely accessible. I have two accounts with CommEd and find it impossible to switch to my second account this needs to be corrected.

Totally fill out survey but never shows complete and restarts from beginning when you answer a question. Neighbors that system compares us to are a trailer park when we have a sticks and mortar house. We have 3 times the size of a home.

After I enabled the Multi-Factor Authentication
After I enabled the Multi-Factor Authentication security feature on the app, I am not able to log in. I am routed back to the log-in Home Screen. It has to be a glitch. I am not able to deactivate the MFA feature anymore. So I can’t log in through the app. I hope this bug gets fixed.

Constantly crashes
They took me off autopay when I moved. I had to cal to set up service because the app and website weren’t usable. The app crashed 3 times while I tried to set up autopay again. I had to enter my card info twice because it just froze up. The state should seize ComEd. Those crooks don’t deserve to keep their monopoly.
