★★★★★ I would say “The best App” I have used yet — The King’s Spiel
Huge shout out to the Nike Run Club (NRC) App. Just love it. Very cool app and keeps track of progress and gives real time audio updates on various metrics such as time, distance and avg pace. Some of the other captured metrics include total miles, current pace, calories, cadence and the coolest of all elevation gained. This is intriguing. The app indicates so far, 126,795 ft- almost 2 times climbing up and down Mt Everest (29,032 ft) Is this true? To top it all, the fun pep quips in the app at
★★★★★ Excellent free app for casual run coaching — erikrun
It’s a very nice app that integrates well with both the iPhone and Apple Watch. It logs mileage and gives basic analytics such as pace, distance, and duration. With a watch, it tracks heart rate, cadence, and a few other metrics. I like Coach Bennett’s approach to running—he’s interesting, encouraging, sets reasonable expectations, and then comments regularly to keep the runner going. He’s a smart and motivating coach — and he doesn’t get hung up on all of the “go further,” “go faster,” “no pain
★★★★★ Amazing App and Structure — Jocely13
I've been using the Nike Running App for over 10 years now, and it has truly transformed my training experience. The guided runs are a standout feature, offering personalized coaching that helps me stay motivated and push through tough workouts. Whether I'm aiming for a new personal best or just trying to stay active, the app's coaches provide the perfect blend of encouragement and expertise.
The integration with the Nike Training Club app has been a game-changer for my overall fitness routine.
★★★★★ Helped me learn to actually love running! — Info d00d
I’ve had an on and off relationship with running for a few years now. A while ago I only ran just for weight loss and to try to become fast. I didn’t really know what I was doing and would run too hard too soon with no breaks. I would just hurt and thought I sucked at running. I viewed it as a necessary evil that I needed to overcome. I also thought that I should be a lot better at running than I was and I hated it. I made one of my New Year’s resolutions a few years ago to “run more and get bet
★★★★★ Fixing the log-out and sync issues — chadioo96
UPDATE 3: with version 7.42+, sync issues appear to have been fixed. Sometime a few versions earlier, things really started to shape up. Super happy with the improvements!
UPDATE 2: every update breaks the sync with the watch. Run data is lost. The time to fix is 20-30 minutes of logging out, refreshing, etc. After 14 years I might have to go exclusively to Strava. UPDATE: with phone on iOS 17.1+ and watch on watchOS 10.1+, as well as NRC 7.30.0, sync issues appear to be fixed. That brings me fr
★★★★★ Love this app - def download! — leotards
This app has brought me back into the sport I love, and I want it to be the best experience for everyone. My only note would be to please please please let some of the speed or shorter interval run coaches that do the guided runs to not be so incredibly robotic, and repetitive. I understand sometimes repeating instruction again after it is said is helpful, but the guided speed runs actually sometimes leave me annoyed because of how repetitive the talk is. I understand after the first two times 5
★★★★★ LOVE THIS APP… but the UI not so good — AmyR1101
This app is amazing. I get bored most of the times while I’m trying longer runs and Coach Bennett’s cheesy jokes have managed to get me past the 8 mile mark which is pretty crazy considering 3mi was a STRUGGLE before starting NRC. However the UI itself is a little questionable. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled this app a couple times and it doesn’t mark properly runs I’ve done before and there’s no good filter system for looking through the huge catalog of runs they have available, you literally
★★★★★ Could be great, buuuut… — the actual real jack
For the first couple months of using this app, I loved it. But after 6 months and 250+ miles, there are issues that have cropped up that make the app nearly unusable. Pros: - Clean and visually stunning. - Excellent content for getting into running. - Great running methodology and emotional mindset. - Good training plans for small races. Cons: - Buggy. The Apple Watch app always crashes at least 3 times before I can start my run. - Connection issues. It’s rare that I’m able to start a run on my
★★★★★ Fantastic Coaching — Morp/-/eus
I’m really impressed with the coaching available as part of the app. I picked up running recently and had started tracking runs in Strava. I decided to check out NRC because a friend of mine is using it and referenced it. I’m sure glad that I did! Previously I would just go out and run hard. But it’s hard to motivate for that kind of pain. I decided to try NRC’s 10k program to give me something to work toward. It has me doing speed runs, recovery runs, longer distances, etc. As a new runner, it
★★★★★ Try it out! — GrantTG92
This app really is amazing. I’m one of those people where if something doesn’t really work for me, it really doesn’t work…if it works for me, it really works. This app really works for me so far. The guided runs are really helpful to reduce stress/anxiety about runs. The advice and information the coaches give fills up the time and is oftentimes humorous so it takes your mind off of the work you’re putting in a little bit. The training plans have also been really helpful for me because they make
★★★★★ Great for Beginners, Not So Much for Experienced — BeansandBananas
When I began running 5 years ago, I loved the app because it motivated me to run. The guided runs were always fun and uplifting to listen to during a run. I also really liked the coaching tab that had coaching for beginners, strength building, and for racing. I started out with coaching for beginners, then went to coaching for strength, and then coaching for my first half marathon race. Fast forward five years now, and I’ve outgrown the app because they’ve taken away the coaching for racing tha
★★★★★ Always Glitching and Has Syncing Issues With Apple Watch — chukka09
This app would be great if it synced your runs from your Apple watch properly. At least six of my runs that were very important goals for me either never synced with my phone and I lost the data or they glitched halfway through the run and I ended up with an incomplete or distorted record of the run. Oftentimes I end up with the proper results in my Apple Activity app that is fed from the Nike Run app but the Nike Run app itself doesn’t log it properly or even at all. I have had two different Se
★★★★★ Switching apps — emily.t2
I have used this app for years and have finally reached the final straw. I’m disappointed because I like the guided runs and training plans the app offers but I can no longer overlook it’s other issues. I have an Apple Watch series 3 and it is nearly impossible to sync my runs between my watch and phone. Lately any run that I start from my watch is deleted which is especially annoying with speed runs in which it is much easier to start and stop intervals from my watch. I’ve lost my running strea
★★★★★ The Perfect Running App — morgsReviews
Whether you’re just starting to run or you’ve run for years this is an incredible app to have. Not only does it track where you go but as soon as you finish you are able to report how easy or hard the run was and it tracks your every pace from start to finish. Every day you are able to look back on your progress and throughout the week the Nike Dun Club Trainers give you confidence boosters to encourage and to support your efforts.
The guided runs are very helpful and are exactly what you need
★★★★★ NIKE+ RUN=MAGICAL — Meredith Padgett
I have despised running all my life. It was never my cup of tea when it came to working out. Yet despite my disdain for running, I would occasionally go on runs in hopes of becoming more fond of the sport due to its many health benefits. Unfortunately after running half a mile I would already be out of breath and just unhappy. Now I realize that’s because I was starting out too fast and I wasn’t running with the right purpose (according to Coach Bennett on the Nike + run app, these are two commo
★★★★★ Best running app on the market. — RM_Alex
Let me back up my words with a little story, I used to always want to be a good runner. However, I never had enough motivation to do it more than three times in a month (if even that). I tried the guided runs and they were great but I never felt motivated enough to run the next day. However, through the Nike Run Club app you can connect with your friends and create challenges and set distance goals. My good friend on the app created a run challenge for 60 miles in a month last April and I really
★★★★★ I love the app so much... for the most part. — Reiff_27
I used to use the Under Armor: Map My Run app, but after I got back from a rotation in Europe I decided to switch to this app. I love love love the goals and achievements and clubs. It helps to push yourself to run more often and try to cut down your splits and push harder. I love the competition with your friends, how you can see who ran the most that day/week/month. It’s all great things and I love the app so much, except for one extremely vexing thing. Sometimes during my run, while running,
★★★★★ I like it, but it’s still missing a lot — Create Nickname2223
Pros: 1. It’s free 2. There is a lot of good content and I really like the guided runs, that they will create a training plan customized to you, there is really a lot of content 3. It has some cool features like logging the amount of miles on shoes, clearly this benefits Nike if you buy shoes more (if you run in Nike) but I also find this good to know because it is not something I keep track of at all. I also like that or logging where your run and marking how difficult it was for you cause fa
★★★★★ Good but need a little improvement — dusjdoc
I love how it’s been helping me train for my first 10k! It adjusts its workout to meet me where I’m at in my running experience which is really nice.
A few things I wish they’d improve on:
1. Explaining their workouts a little. For example today I needed to run 4 intervals of 400m however I just had the workout going the entire time in between. I wasn’t informed that I needed to pause the workout in between intervals so by the time I was done it looked like I only completed 1 interval.
2. There
★★★★★ Serviceable with a few issues — Mdcruzer
I’ve been using NRC app for a while. Most recently using the My Coach feature to train for a Marathon. As part of the training program it has you download the separate Nike training app. The link is not the greatest as I did the workout in the training app but it didn’t log it in the NRC My Coach training plan and there is no way to manually override and check the box that it was completed. So now for that week it says I only did 4 out of 5 workouts. The plan adjusts as you go, so I’m guessing i
