$1,074 headphones, $0 app quality
Just got the Bathys MG today. Headphones themselves are beautiful and sound great. But the EQ — the entire reason I bought these — flat out does not work. Constant “please stream some music” error even with music actively playing through the headphones. “Command failed” on repeat. This isn’t a user error, it’s a broken app. For a company charging over a grand for headphones, this companion app is embarrassing. Sort it out Focal. ⭐

Good overall but has issues with Hekla
Volume settings on the app for the hekla are not correctly displayed . In the channel levels for height channels there are 3 left channels and 1 right. Can you update this bug?

Non-functional if internet is down
Certainly not everyone will care about this, but I live in a rural area and purchased Naim speakers in large part on the idea that they'd work even when the WISP dropped. They have airplay and ability to stream from your own music server on LAN. Unfortunately, while that worked when I bought them, at some point the app was changed so that if internet is down it's completely non-functional. Refuses to even connect to added speakers, that you can load the web page on in Safari. The hardware is superb (and pricey) so it's unfortunate the app stinks now. Not reliable
Have had to hard boot my Uniti Nova every few weeks since purchase in order to restore app control. The last two pushed revs to the software have only increased this flakiness. Looks like this time I’ll need to completely disconnect and reconnect. Have a Bluesound Node at other house - 100% reliable and MUCH more affordable. About ready to bail on Naim.

So I just bought the Focal Bathy’s MG headphones, and found out I cannot open up the app. To use its features, and I cannot access the website either. Not a good start, and from what I see the EQ system on the app. Is pretty dismal. I would think that for focal’s price point on their items, they would overall do a better job with their website, app. And EQ system.

Won’t connect to my Bathys
It’s gotten continuously worse. The headphones work with my iPhone no problem. I can listen to music or play my audio book. But I go into the app and it fails to connect to them. I just want to be sure I have the latest firmware on them and check the eq settings. I tried “forgetting the device” and reconnecting and no change. I love the headphones but really have had nothing but issues with the app. It used to stay connected for a few seconds then lose connection. Again, they work fine with any other app. Also I’d love to have the ability to implement a full PEQ profile like from Auto

Functional. Added Imternet Radio a plus
The app has always been bare-bones. It does what it needs to do I wish I didn’t have to select the headphones every time I connect them. The new update is welcome, the Internet Radio seems great (I’m trying it out right now) but I’m most thankful for the updated EQ graph. I’m not sure if it functions any different but it looks much nicer and is very easy to adjust. It’s the little things. I’m currently listening on the Bathys MG headphones, which are spectacular btw.

I was concerned about the app given all the bad reviews. Maybe for the Naim equipment? For the headphones, it is a plus (1) no feedback (like on my 5909s) for ANC setting but simple on the app (2) personalization, being older I lose a lot over the higher spectrum; the app brightened music on a good curve which, as advertised, permits lower listening levels. Before I personalized I thought the headphones were Near-Perfect. Now I wonder as they sound almost muffled without it. That’s really because I can listen at a lower volume comfortably. The Bathys sound as wonderfully flat as the 5909s,

Anyone could build a better app than this.
I have the focal bathys and this app doesn’t add much to the experience of these headphones. The eq is subpar - they could have considered their audience here and built something actually good. This company honestly gives no care regarding software and firmware. For example they are aware the bathys has too large of volume jumps per increment yet they never fixed the issue.

The UI is decent and I like the customization but the lack of functionality is APPALLING. Bathys is not cheap and it’s insane to not get a working app at that price point.

Intensity for sound personalization does not save. Tried keeping it at 50% and it shoots back up to 100%. Don’t see anywhere to save my adjustment and it keeps going back to 100… EQ is a little lack luster compared to other headphones that are 50% less expensive. It's disgusting that they don't have enough respect for customers to fix all the major problems with this app!I can't even use it because it constantly says my headphones are disconnected even though it shows my battery life ect correctly. I was able to connect my device to wifi using the app, but beyond that it is completely broken and useless. If i click on my speaker to try and change settings or play music from the app, it brings me to a ‘checking for firmware’ page that never loads or asks me to set up a new speaker. Was hoping for better from a premium product. At least i can use the speaker with Airplay…

Headphones Disconnected
This is as far as I can get… I can switch over the EQ if I’m fast enough, but this error pops up every time after about 5 seconds. I think this is because the headphones were paired already and the app tried to pair them again - which I cancelled. Uninstalled and reinstalled and still having issues.

What I previously wrote: "The app will not play tracks since the 6.61 update earlier today. Everything else looks normal, but pressing the play arrow does nothing." What I just discovered: There is nothing wrong with the app whatsoever. In fact, it works flawlessly on both my iPhone and iPad. The problem I encountered was in my Naim Uniti Core, not the app. After rebooting the Core by unplugging and replugging it in, the problem disappeared. My apologies to Naim and the app developer.

Focal Bathys app
Was hesitant after reading bad reviews. Just got Bathys cans, needed the firmware update so downloaded the app. Installed fine, opened up and quickly found my cans, auto prompted the update, ran it and installed via bluetooth. Set up the bathys quickly with a hearing test. Was impressed. Had absolutely NO issues with the app. Maybe others here had issues due to the hardware? Functions are limited, but how much do you need? Controls the eq, LED, and the ANC. Works fine for my needs. Thanks for a well made app.

Works good for Focal Bathys
This app is a very good companion for the Focal Bathys wireless headphones. It has the Mimi thing in it which is also a good thing. The equalizer is weird, and can’t be set easily. If the Bathys is connected to more than one device, even to this device - the app won’t work with it. Happens to be that Sennheiser PXC and other ones they make wireless doesn’t have these issues. I would give this app a 3.75 ratings..

This app is hands down the most terrible I’ve ever had to use. I’ve had numerous connectivity problems when trying to configure my MuSo Qb2 in the past but today’s experience beat them all. I had to connect the MuSo to a new wifi network so had to reconfigure using the app. Whatever I tried, the app on my iPad could not find the MuSo. Eventually the app on my iPhone did. Doesn’t work
Attempting to use with Bathys. App says the headphones have been disconnected every few seconds even though they’re still connected to the phone and I’m unable to make any changes through the app because of this bug. Headphones connect to my phone fine and I’m able to listen to music through them. They sound ok but between the non-working app and terribly- uncomfortable headband I’ll probably move on to something else.

Naim app - Can’t Get Home
Recently I find I can’t get to the Home Screen on the Naim app. I can get to the Local Music screen and when I select the “<“ icon it’s back to a mostly blank screen. I see the house icon in the upper left hand corner. But when I selected it I get a blank screen. I can use the Star remote to see the main screen directly on the Star unit but I prefer using the app. The only change I made recently is to a a Naim Mu-so 2 in another room. Unable to connect to device
For some reason my app isn’t responding to my mu-so steaming device. I can’t power it on via the app and I am currently hooked up to same wifi on both devices. It still says unable to connect. Keeps dropping device connection and almost impossible to re establish connection to device.
Keeps losing connection with my uniti atom, have had for less than a year. It will work fine for days and then just lose the device. Getting back connected is a bit if a nightmare. This time however, after powering down both the phone and the atom, uninstalled app (twice), confirmed both phone are connected and on same network (atom plays radio, remote works), etc etc etc, it will not find the atom at all after 3 days of trying everything I could think of. The streamer loses most of its functionality without app. Extremely frustrated and disappointed.

‘Beep beep’
Using Focal Bathys headphones, there is an annoying “beep beep” at irregular intervals that sounds like a notification of some kind but I cannot figure out how to turn it off. This is different than the sounds made when connecting and more like a child’s train toy. Please advise how to get rid of this; it makes the listening experience very unsatisfactory. Multiple support requests on Focal’s website have gone unanswered. Very disappointed in the lack of available support and documentation for these headphones, which sound terrific.
