Abandoned (2021)
This used to be hands down the best GPS app available, and it’s layout and functionality still makes most other apps look like a joke. The problem is, the developer seems to have abandoned it. Functionality is slowly breaking as new iOS updates come out (currently can’t share anything), and the developer is MIA (tried sending emails). The last update was 4 years ago :-( Jonathan, if you’re reading this, please don’t let GPS Kit die. Nothing else comes close.

Make GPS kit great again!
I’ve had this app for many years. It’s still my favourite gps app for hunting, fishing, and working in the bush. But…. It hasn’t been updated in years and loses more and more functionality. Squawk was awesome and what made me purchase it originally. Now it’s not possible to import files from email. I’m still loyal to it so far but be great to get some fixes

I’ve had this app for years ... I been in the mountains the back woods hundreds of miles from cell service ... it has always worked and tracked my steps accurately. Stopped being able to download maps
Can no longer download apps. I purchased the app years ago and it used to work fine. My original maps and data are still there but I’ve since moved and needed to download new maps however it looks like the creators API access to the maps don’t work anymore.

Can’t load files anymore since updating to iOS 13 on my iPadMini (seems ok on my iPhone). Been using for years and have yet to find another app with organisation as practical as this one. Just too bad it is not maintained properly. My notes in 2017: Tracking is no longer working for me. Can't use Track Editor anymore either and am experiencing major display bugs. Refusal to fix fundamental bug
Update 2017 This app was good 5 years ago. But it's clear the developers are more interested in coasting than improving or even fixing this app. They finally released an update (first major one since iOS 7 if I'm not mistaken) and little has changed. They still can't manage to properly render google map tiles, though no one else seems to have this problem, even the crappiest ad-filled apps don't seem to have an issue with it. My original review of this app many years ago was one star. It really did deserve the rating, and I almost asked for my money back. But now that I have a faster phone (iPhone 3G users this app is not for you) and now that the interface has been redesigned I'm happy to give it four stars. While in theory this app could have been awesome, even at the price tag that I bought it ($10). But it isn't! Because they never update or fix bugs. Whenever Apple updates the OS It's unusable for months and also they seem to have bugs unrelated to the OS updates that simply crash the whole app. I wouldn't care if the app was free or $1... But not for $10, I'm sorry! I've been able to use this app maybe 20% of the time when I needed it because of this.
