Did I switch off the oven? Instead of heading back home to check, simply take a look at the app. You will see and be able to control the status of your appliance straight away with immediate access to important functionalities, whether at home or on the go.

Oh, the fridge door has been left open? When do I need to descale the coffee machine? How often should I clean the oven? Important notifications and reminders regarding care and maintenance will be sent to you automatically. Good for dishwasher once learned
The only thing that could improve the app is to make the core task of running the dishwasher more intuitive initially. I have it figured out now and have no complaints. I like being able to set a delayed start to coincide with the hours when my energy company charges a lower rate.

WiFi logo not visible in instructions
I opened the and as followed instructions. I got to the part where I was supposed to press a button, but the button was not visible in the instructions. There was just a rectangle there.
Turns out it was supposed to be the WiFi symbol, but I did not figure that out until I called in to Bosch. I believe it might be a font issue.
Should be an easy fix, but should have never gotten past QA.

Do not buy Thermador/Bosch!
Home Connect app, is THE most frustrating and time-consuming apps I have ever used. An app that is supposed to make managing smart appliances more convenient has instead become a constant TIME-SUCK.
After nearly every update, the app icon changes, then mysteriously changes back later. More importantly, these updates cause all three of my connected appliances to lose their connection to the app. As for my fourth appliance, the refrigerator, I have never been able to get it connected regardless of the app.

Unstable after every update
App is very unstable after every update. It's always something. Either it tells the user "you have changed the icon" and then it disconnects the appliances multiple times before maybe reconnecting but often forcing a dishwasher panel reset. Or it forces the user to go through the tedious login process for no apparent reason. Notification Hell
You’re required for some inexplicable reason to download this app to access all the features on your dishwasher. That shouldn’t be the case. And once you download it you’ll get such informative notifications that is asparagus season, FOR YOUR DISHWASHER, even if you’ve turned off ALL notifications. This could have been an excellent product. Instead, Bosch Tried to define it as having an excellent, fast Ice Maker. Well, it’s neither. A word to the wise, never buy a Bosch. You can't control your dishwasher manually and the app is completely unintuitive. if you have to Google “how to run a Rinse Cycle then the product (no manual rinse cycle), and the app are failures! Hint to the idiots in charge, a simple rinse pgm is a good under sink plumbing test. Or to quote my wife, "this is ridiculous". i’d pay to have this dishwasher hauled away and torched. Works ok until it updates
Same as others. It works fine until an update and everything is wiped clean of settings and devices and you have to go through everything manually again. Not really convinced that the app is necessary for anything. More like something to simply say “look at what my phone can do!” without giving any real added feature to the device. And of course, when it resets everything to a blank slate on update, it becomes more of a hassle than a convenience.

Wasn’t pleased to learn we could only schedule delayed wash using the App. In the past few months it lost our preferred cycle setting, then, with this App change we had to completely reconnect by finding the model number and login. App provides a “smart” start option that is anything but smart. Instead of set and forget like apps for other dishwashers, the user needs to select smart start manually every day. And the app frequently forgets the preference, so the user has to set it regularly. Plus the user interface isn’t very intuitive.

Works Great, If It Connects
When Home Connect connects with my Bosch dishwasher, it works great. But I frequently it requires multiple attempts before it actually connects. I have not found a reliable workaround to solve this except persistence before it connects and allows me to set a time delay. It’s frustrating. Bosch , if you are listening, please update the software to fix this and while you are at it, provide a means to program the “Favorite” button for time delay start. For instance, 1 push=1 hr, 2 pushes=2 hrs, 4 pushes=4 hr delay, etc. then I could avoid Home Connect all together.

Dishes aren’t clean after app update.
I’ve been happy with my dishwasher since I bought it 10 months ago. I rarely use the app to set cycles and run it. Since the last app update my dishes stopped coming out clean. I went to the app to see if a setting changed or something. The app didn’t recognize my account or my dishwasher. It took several hours and multiple attempts to get the app to log into my account and connect to the product. I’m not pleased that a software update that I rarely need could render my $1000 product ineffective.

Functional, but not pretty
After some rocky account sign-in issues, Home Connect has returned to being a functional app to check on and control Thermador appliances. As an owner for a fridge, freezer, wine fridge, dishwasher, and oven, I appreciate the control and support functions offered via the app. My only complaint: the design and UX don’t reflect the premium feel and style of the appliances it’s linked to.

Useful for monitoring but will spam you
I installed this when we got our new Bosch refrigerator and it’s useful for telling you when your filters need to be replaced or you leave the door open. (That’s a good thing since this double door refrigerator does not self close itself very well) However, I discovered after a while that it abused the privilege of sending me notifications to spam me with ads. At that point I shut notifications off thus negating the usefulness of knowing if my connected appliance has problems.

Never Again
I will never buy another smart appliance again. App fails every time I update it. Then I cant use my dishwasher. Seriously?
I contacted support about this, 24 hours later I got an email saying their “servers were down”.
Appliances used to have controls on the front. Now they rely on an internet connection to some server in the cloud. This needs to stop. We spend big money on these appliances and are crippled by server outages?!?

Does not keep stable connection
So - the appliance I am using with the app is a Bosch dishwasher.
To connect the dishwasher to the app, I have to have my phone connected to our 2.4ghrz network, not the 5ghrz network. The dishwasher apparently can only see the 2.4ghrz networks. So that is fine. Easy enough to do.
But - if my phone switches our 5ghrz network and I try to open the app, the app will try to connect BUT fail. Even if I change the network on my phone back to the 2.4 ghrz network it can’t connect.

I’m very frustrated with the Home Connect experience for my Bosch dishwasher. The appliance shows that it is connected to Wi-Fi, and I have spent a lot of time troubleshooting the network setup, including testing different bands and settings. When my phone is on the same home Wi-Fi, the dishwasher often appears accessible, but when I am away from home or off Wi-Fi, it frequently shows as disconnected. Buggy app
The app is necessary to use the features of my dishwasher. For example, the rinse cycle seems to be available only through the app, as there is no corresponding button in the control panel of the machine.
However, it is often the case that the app is unable to connect to the dishwasher (while all the other devices connected to my home WiFi show no issues). Of course also my phone Bluetooth connection on the phone is fully operational. A few times the dishwasher simply no longer appeared in the app, and I had to recreate the connection from scratch.

This app is literal garbage. It had me signing in 4 times and when my sign in FINALLY WENT THROUGH, the connecting screen doesn’t work. Clearly, someone isn’t doing their UI job properly. Why Can’t It Be Easy?
When it works - it does what it’s supposed to do. Not as intuitive as it should be - but that’s because a dishwasher shouldn’t require an app for a Delay Start. That would have been easier on the washer.
Search the web and there are many issues with the app not launching - and no help except “try again” and “restart your phone”. For some reason, other app developers have figured our reliability and ease of use. But not Bosch.

Only smart appliance app with local control albeit getting stuff connected to it is a bit of pain
I’ve seen many reviews complain about how “I don’t wanna connect my appliances to the cloud” and I understand why but if you do a bit digging (appliance > settings > network connection details > scroll down) there’s an option in the app to disconnect it from the servers which( to my knowledge) only exists in this app and maybe Miele’s app. While I do like this option getting the appliances connected and having them stay connected led is a bit of a pain. At some point my oven disconnected and I had to 3 breaker resets just to get it reconnected alongside that I did have to reconnect my freezer

The developer reached out and educated me on current functionality after my 1 star review. This app lets you opt out of the push notification ads, which I appreciate. I think it should instead prompt you to opt-in to alerts that are not related to device operation. Docking a star for that.
