What’s New Version 26.07.20
Bug Fixes
• Regrettably, some emoji were not rendering in canvases when viewed on the mobile app. If each of those little pictograms is indeed worth a thousand words, then we owe you a whole lot of characters under the current exchange rate. Might we submit that an app update is actually worth a thousand emoji? No? Fair enough.

Build 887920395v26.07.202026-07-08 19:01:35
Build 887698711v26.07.102026-07-01 19:00:51
Bug Fixes
• Is it something in the air? A certain je ne sais quoi that’s hard to put a finger on? The world seems brighter, music sounds sweeter ... what could it be? The Slack app has been updated, and we can neither confirm nor deny we’re responsible for any lightness that descends upon you.
Build 887311169v26.06.402026-06-24 19:01:17
Bug Fixes
• Ever have those weeks when it feels like nothing’s happening, but then you look back later and realize a lot of things actually were happening? This is one of those weeks for the app.
Build 887011534v26.06.302026-06-17 19:00:57
Bug Fixes
• If you created a custom filter in the Activity view to show only @mentions of your name, we were also displaying messages mentioning your keywords and user groups. Looks like there were some holes in that filter of ours. It's fixed now — don't mention it.
Build 886698458v26.06.202026-06-10 19:00:48
Bug Fixes
• In some cases, the Home view was loading in ever-so-slightly scrolled down from where it should have been. All the elements were still in view, but it just wasn't quite right. When you care about your guests, you want everything to be just so — and we do care about you — so please enjoy this very tiny fix.
Build 886432155v26.06.102026-06-03 19:00:57
Bug Fixes
• A little reminder as you go about your day: The world is a more unique place simply because you’re a part of it, and you’ve affected others in ways you can’t imagine. Oh, and no big changes to the app this time. Happy messaging!
Build 886122599v26.05.402026-05-27 19:01:11
Bug Fixes
• Is there something strange in your neighborhood? iPad users were spooked to notice a ghostly white image in place of their newly-uploaded profile pictures. We knew who to call; this bug is now busted.
Build 885840380v26.05.302026-05-20 19:00:51
Bug Fixes
• If mandatory two-factor authentication was enabled for a workspace, but an owner or admin had not yet set up their 2FA, the login screen would disappear when attempting to sign in using a magic link. This type of vanishing act isn't the sort people pay to see. Behold, the prestige: Magic link login screens have reappeared in their rightful place.
Build 885545505v26.05.202026-05-13 19:01:03
Bug Fixes
• Callout sections in canvases can now be edited on mobile. The ink never dries on a Slack canvas — revise to your heart's delight, no matter the device in hand.
Build 885260173v26.05.102026-05-07 15:15:37
Bug Fixes
• Don’t mind us — just making a few small adjustments to keep the app in tip-top shape. More to come soon. Cheerio!
Build 885004025v26.04.502026-04-29 19:00:55
Bug Fixes
• If you were removed from a private channel where you had a message drafted, a "1" would remain stuck next to Drafts with no way to clear it. We'll hang on to that draft for you in case you re-join the channel, but we'll hide the notification in the meantime.
• Those using the VoiceOver feature were unable to select or play audio clips. All voices deserve to be heard in Slack — this update brings harmony to the app.
Build 884739827v26.04.402026-04-22 19:35:36
Bug Fixes
• Bugs were squashed, performance was improved, work was done, and the result was good. Please enjoy Slack responsibly.
Build 884476521v26.04.302026-04-16 17:04:16
Bug Fixes
• All bugs that were fixed in this release were too small for the eye to see or too fiddly for human words to describe. Nevertheless, work was done, things tinkered with and the app became subtly better.
Build 884209179v26.04.202026-04-08 19:00:48
Bug Fixes
• A little reminder as you go about your day: The world is a more unique place simply because you’re a part of it, and you’ve affected others in ways you can’t imagine. Oh, and no big changes to the app this time. Happy messaging!
Build 883949467v26.04.102026-04-01 19:52:03
Bug Fixes
• Tapping "View in Browser" on remote files added via API was appending a "/" at the end of the URL, effectively breaking the link. Let us never underestimate the power of one small character to topple even the most complex systems.
• Batch image uploads were broken in canvases, forcing you to upload one at a time. Sometimes it's rewarding to take the slower, more deliberate path toward accomplishing a goal — mindfully connecting with each individual element and savoring the satisfaction. Sometimes you just need to upload 20 photos at once. This was the latter.
Build 883683476v26.03.402026-03-25 19:01:46
Bug Fixes
• What's black and white and (re)read all over? Your Slack messages — when conversations stayed unread on mobile even after you'd read them on desktop. This riddle of a bug is solved in our latest update.
Build 883442215v26.03.302026-03-18 19:00:59
Bug Fixes
• We tuned up the engine and gave the interiors a thorough clean. Everything is now running smoothly again.
Build 883196938v26.03.202026-03-11 19:20:45
Bug Fixes
• One of our menus didn't get the memo when it came to turning notifications on or off for a particular thread. Specifically, when tapping into a thread and selecting additional options (...), "Turn off notifications" was always visible, even after notifications had been disabled. Going forward, all unsubscribe requests will be honored, and records shall be updated accordingly.
Build 882958855v26.03.102026-03-04 20:02:48
Bug Fixes
• iPhone-specific emoji (such as Animoji or Memoji) were failing to send within Slack. Please accept our sincerest apoloji.
• Emoji were also occasionally not matching across desktop and mobile due to a localization issue. Our emoji interpreters have been working overtime to ensure this won't happen again. :ok_hand: :man-bowing:
Build 882725673v26.02.402026-02-25 20:01:02
Bug Fixes
• The VoiceOver feature was glossing over certain details when announcing messages delivered via webhook. Going forward, its screen reading will be more thorough, helpful, and (dare we say it) accessible.
• Returning to the main channel view after replying to a thread sometimes left a large, empty rectangle where the keyboard used to be. To put it in radio-friendly terms: We had a blank space, baby, and it was swiftly resolved.
Build 882524230v26.02.302026-02-18 20:01:08
Bug Fixes
• We’ve tinkered with the internal workings and polished some rough edges. The app is now better than it was.
Build 882424072v26.02.212026-02-13 16:16:12
Bug Fixes
• We tuned up the engine and gave the interiors a thorough clean. Everything is now running smoothly again.
Build 882315076v26.02.202026-02-11 20:01:13
Bug Fixes
• We’ve sanded down some rough patches in the app so as to avoid any digital splinters. Did you know "digital splinters" were a thing? They are now, but they aren’t anything you’ll need to worry about.
Build 882095693v26.02.102026-02-04 20:01:02
Bug Fixes
• Online indicators for guest accounts were in bad shape — that is, they weren't displaying their correct shapes (squares and triangles), defaulting instead to the familiar circle. We've quite literally squared the circle on this one, returning guest indicators to their proper geometric glory.
• The mobile emoji picker wasn't taking into account your most frequently-used emoji on desktop, so if your favorite handshake reaction wasn't making the handoff to mobile, that one was on us. We promise not to let that happen again. Shake on it?
• Different skin tones of the same emoji will once again be grouped together when reacting to a message. No matter our complexion, we're all one human family, even when represented as cartoon pictographs.
Build 881868415v26.01.402026-01-28 20:01:12
Bug Fixes
• The filter option within the DMs tab was doing... nothing. It was ornamental, vestigial, and most definitely broken. We've filtered the offending code right out, and DMs are now A-OK.
• Did you know you can send emails to a Slack channel? Pretty neat, huh? Did you also know that forwarding that message to a different channel within Slack would change your avatar to that of a bot and/or app? Notably less neat, we contend. Slack: Now with fewer identity crises.
• Launching the app by tapping on a notification banner would sometimes cause channel headers and the "Back" button to be conspicuously absent. There are few things in life from which there is truly no return; go forth in Slack and know that you can always retrace your steps.
• When two users had the same display name, we weren't showing their full names alongside in autocomplete menus. This gave the act of tagging someone in a message the same thrilling anxiety as greeting a person whose name you're only 50% sure you remember. Enjoy this fix, brought to you by Slack [Full Name: Slack Technologies, LLC].
Build 881650293v26.01.302026-01-21 20:01:02
Bug Fixes
• Shooting stars may be ephemeral, but starred conversations in Slack are forever — at least that was the buggy behavior folks experienced when they found they could not un-star channels and DMs on mobile. We thank our lucky stars (not to mention our mobile engineers) for this bug fix.
• The "[Name] is typing..." indicator was not appearing within threads. Please take this message as indication that the bug has been fixed.

Notifications bug
After some recent updates, notifications are being sent randomly. Sometimes, they arrive immediately after the message is sent, while at other times, they never do. Imagine the problems and challenges that arise from such a situation for many people who use this app daily. I personally lost two projects because I couldn’t respond on time.

Bad UX, many bugs
You would think for the price you pay you will get an amazing product (especially since it’s a chat software) but instead you will get a pretty wierd UX wise product, with unnecessary features - the AI ones come to mind. Also, the amount of bugs is just sad - you would think that in 2026 we can send an image to someone in a chat message but you would be dead wrong. I am not joking when I say that almost every other attempt to send one doesn’t work - disappearing messages, messages which will fail to send (with no feedback - they will appear to be sent but they aren’t), messages you can’t delet

Pricing not adequate to country; horrible pings from threads
Except from terrible pricing plans forcing one to stay on free (limited space per workspace) and terrible way of finding in which channel on which thread someone else is pinging you (or is just answering someone else in that thread like you cared…) it is a good app for communication. The other minor to major issue is the stubborn list of users you can DM in your workspace - after getting to like 15 ppl in a workspace it starts to limit amount of displayed users; after a while it forgets you were dm’ing a person and hides them; so you always have to remember who you were writing to to search th

Issues
Got lots of problems with the iOS version of this app. Each time I want to complete a trivial task like sending a photo I encounter a problem, then I usually have to reinstall the app to get rid of initial problem just to encounter a follow up problem related to the same activity, so I gave up on trying to trouble shoot this thing.

The unavailable new user interface
I realize the perceived need to innovate and introduce changes. I work in the same industry, so I really get it. The fact that the change is enforced with no option to go back is something I can’t fathom. A simple switch with some telemetry would give the creator of this app all the feedback they need. Instead, there’s no option whatsoever, Slack knows best what its users want (apparently), and the service people love using turns into one people are forced to live with. Great job!

Not get why rating is so low
After 4+ years of using slack I can say it’s the best messanger app on a market. It’s exceptionally reliable, simple, and regularly bringing some “freshness” to the UI. There are a lot of apps and 3rd-party connectors that make your experience even better.
P.S. person/team that’s writing updates description is great!

Lack of UX Insight: A Terrible Update
I have relied on Slack for seamlessly managing my daily workflows, but the recent interface update, while visually appealing, has complicated what used to be straightforward tasks. The additional visual elements, though attractive, are more distracting than helpful, leading to a decline in our team’s efficiency. This has driven some of our workspaces to consider switching to alternative platforms. While I value Slack’s effort to innovate, it’s vital that user experience and accessibility remain priorities. I hope my feedback contributes to refining future updates, ensuring they enhance, not hi

No snooze notifications option
After an update long ago I can’t snooze the notifications and keep receiving them all the time. That’s really annoying because I can’t focus on my stuff when I am not at work. Do sth with that bag, please.

Each New version is worse
Can we please have option to roll back to old iPad version? First channel list didn’t refresh until restart, now after patch it cannot be hidden by one simple swipe. It worked well when we could swipe from anywhere on the screen to see channels or messages…

Crashes when writing a message with mentions.
For quite some time now, it's inevitable for Slack to crash whenever there is an @ or # mention somewhere in the message that is being written.
The worst part of it is that for messages that cause the app to crash, there is no backup in the Drafts section, so you lose all your work and need to start writing from the start.
It's been more than 2 months of this error occurring in production so I am giving you 1 star because it has a huge performance impact on the day to day work..

Weird direction with new UI
I don’t understand why would you effectively lower the amount of space for actual chat and text by making the non-chat UI:
1. Excessively wide - the channel/DMs list is incredibly wide, unnecessarily so. I have her seen any channels with names so long they would need this much horizontal space. In all Workspaces I’m in, about half or more of that part of UI is just empty space.
2. Adding the new, impossible to hide sidebar, to access things I have never, ever used despite using Slack for work for over 2 years. This also killed the ability to pull the list of Workspaces from the side of the app

Does the job
I like slack. It does the job in the end of the day. I have chat going, can check history, find parts of communication, call, highlight, notifications-silent-categorise and much more.
Of-course at times slack lags and that’s annoying, but I bet there is no perfect app.
All in all, good job team!

The new layout is HORRID
Why Slack? Why?! You were the perfect ideal! First the awful new logo now this. Please revert back to old menu styles. Who on Earth thought that swiping three times just to check if you got a reply on another server was ever a good idea. Why do you need a full screen just to switch channels? Horrible and unintuitive. I thought I never say that but Discord’s so much better right now

To be honest, never saw notification from Slack. Ever. I am sure I have them turned on for Slack on my iPhone.
But today is the best. I open up slack. No refreshing. I kill app. Open up again. Nothing. I pull up to refresh, got “all is fine and updated” or something like that. I can see that nobody is marked as active, even me and I’m sure there are people active on this slack group.
I go further. Open Control Panel, turn off both 3G and WiFi. Open up slack. “Everything is fine”. Kill app, restart. “Everything is fine”. Yeah. You know that meme, dog sitting in the middle of burning room sayi

Suicide by redesign
So... The app was great but...
Some idiot got their hands on it and instead of updates with features it messing with app.
Since few months with each update I can only see changes like: changing icons, changing theme to have irritating colour palette, changing icons (acceptable) but it became more and more unrealiable - which each update there are more issues with notifications which I don’t get, longer opening times and started crashing (on different devices so my phone is not an issue).

App is awsome but:
Can you please add some tiled (/chockolate/?) View for pics which are in some workspace? With visual differentiation-if pics were comented or were signed as good(/liked) than they should be bigger, to be able to localize them quickly?
Time line is ok, but sometimes you need to see only pictures one by one next to eachother... Like on pinterest, googlekeep and so one. It would be really nice to have this option. Your system is so advanced and well prepared that it shouldn't a be big deal for you.
