Need some voiceover Accessibility improvements
App is really good but one thing that could be added that would make it just perfect would be as if the clip editing feature could be made so that people using voiceover on their iPhones could edit clip length and not just have to post the whole 30 second or one minute recording. Yes Blind people listen to police scanners too. :-)

This used to be a somewhat useful scanner app…until they updated the definition of the word “free”. The app is not free, it is the classic “hope this idiot user forgets that that they signed up for our trash app and pays us $7.99 a month until they die!”, kind of free. I can almost hear the snickering of some total nerd/weasels now, laughing about how much money they could leech off of their users. Bottom line, your app blows. Scanner muted when ad plays
Scanner should not be muted when an ad shows up because we end up missing what was said. Updated to 4 stars because developer replied and is trying their best for this to not happen so it’s not their fault. Although some ad providers still refuse to play muted ads so the feed being interrupted will remain an issue.

Make Certain This App Is For You
One star, not because the app is unusable, but because of how the subscription process is handled. To access even basic functionality, I was required to select a subscription. After briefly exploring the app, it became clear it didn’t meet my needs. To be fair, I did go past the three-day trial window, and that part is on me. However, within minutes of the renewal, I canceled the subscription, deleted the app, and submitted a refund request. This was an honest mistake, corrected immediately. I just read a review from the developer that blamed areas not providing scans anymore because of their desire to protect communications (public,ICE, etc) on not having quality community volunteers. No, that would mean your community DOES HAVE quality community volunteers! Everything should not be and IS NOT public knowledge! Best app I found yet.
I’ve tried every app like this, pains and free, this is simply the best. The paid ones offer nothing more than this does. They are all based on guys like me who hook their scanners to a computer and decide to stream it to Broadcastify or RadioRelay. They are only as good as 1) the departments you want to listen are transmutation without encryption. It’s against the law to encrypt their radio traffic. You’d need special equipment and a lot of cash to do it so why bother. And 2) a local scanner jokey who is willing to pay for the bandwidth to stream it. There are ethical issues. I consider w

Great Scanner App!
I have a programmable scanner in my shop that’s on 24/7. The fire frequencies I monitor are broadcast using various repeater tones so radio traffic can be scratchy and hard to understand at times. I find that using this app in those situations, the radio traffic is clear and easy to understand. Additionally, I use Watch Duty for notifications so I have a scanner at my fingertips all the time. I was bummed to see that monitoring FDNY is no longer available. I used to listen to them from time to time because they were always busy and have a unique way of taking care of business.

A couple issues.
There’s a couple issues with this app and one is due to the latest update. The app has been failing to retrieve the proper information and I am unable to get the nearby scanner feeds. Even my home town isn’t available on this app or any other scanner app and that’s my 2nd issue with this app.

I would love this app a lot more if I wasn’t trying to listen to something serious going on then BAM monopoly. It really ruins my experience. I read the reviews and they really just say “just hit X you can close it” yea you see I AM, that’s the issue. I can hear the ad over my local cops talking on a walkie talkie. I’d have better success trying to decipher Egyptian hieroglyphics than trying to listen to the scanner while an ad is playing. Then you have absolutely no choice but to sit there and stare at the ad for 5-10 seconds to hit the X. Thank you

Awesome- but expensive for light use
This downloaded and works right away, easy to figure out and find my local channels. In the App Store it didn’t show that a subscription was required, but a 3 day trial hardly counts for free. I am very willing to pay for apps, especially quality, and I pay for my favorites, but usually it’s a one time fee, whereas this is monthly. The 3-4 or whatever is super reasonable, but as i just want to turn it on every now and then when im in the mood I’ll probably have to cancel unfortunately. Doesn’t work. What a scam!
I downloaded this app for its free trial. There was never an option for a free ad supported version and it only offered a yearly subscription option. I couldn’t connect to a single scanner feed at all. Then if charged me 40+ bucks for a year long subscription. I would have paid for the weekly option to find out this app doesn’t work even without a trial if I had been offered the option of weekly or monthly subscription plans which they have but that isn’t an option when I downloaded the app. I want a refund.

I really wish it had Apple Watch integration so I could listen when I only have my watch with me. Also, please provide a transcript like the broadcastify app used to do? The feeds are often unintelligible, and a transcript really helps. I relied on this feature heavily in the broadcastify app, and now that the app is no longer available it’s a real hardship. It would be an easy implementation lift with AI integration. This is by far of the most important improvement you could make to your app, and would differentiate you from all competitors

NO WAY TO BANISH ADS & ONLY 1 STATION AT A TIME
I currently use the 5-0 App and decided to try this based on many recent great reviews. This app has great sound and has a great selection of regional agencies, but you can only listen to one agency at a time. When an ad pops up there is no way to “x” out of it; and if you leave and come back it’s still there! I waited about a minute but no “close” or “x” option ever appeared. I definitely prefer the 5-0 App where I can play multiple agencies in the “background” and hear them all whenever they transmit (or receive notifications). Forced to purchase
I don’t know why, but this morning I heard a siren and turned on the scanner that I have had for years. Before turning it on, I was forced to accept a 3-day trial and agree to a purchase. I didn’t want to do this. After a short listening session I cancelled and will be deleting soon. Thanks for the service, but not interested in subscribing. Added later… I guess I didn’t read the fine print and misunderstood the offer. I will download and try again. Thanks to the developers for reading and responding to my initial response.

100% legit app exactly what you want/easy to use
Yes after a while you will have random adds come up but the good thing is you can still hear the radio the whole time and they are very short adds…also they are far in between each other….what I like most is how you can minimize the app and still listen while you’re doing other things on your phone as well as leave messages to let others know what’s happening in the area before they join… if you want to not have adds it’s a small one time fee and I say it’s worth it. Don’t bother. It has a delay, so if you hear something on the regular scanner you didn’t hear right and open this scanner to hear it. Nope. An ad auto opens and it’s useless. You missed everything you wanted to hear. Especially if you’re a clipper, it’s not worth it because the ads go over and you can’t clip. And today when I had got a clip it told me sorry try again later 😂. This used to be my favorite but it’s pretty much useless because of the ads, you missed everything everything important

Great scanner, of all the scanners I’ve tried this one is by far the best even with the ads, I love that I can hear what’s going on in MY neighborhood as well as other neighborhoods and cities, sometimes it’s a little jumbled because other dispatch’s are going out at the same time but all and all this one is the best

Let down
I open the app every time hear sirens in my neighborhood bc unfortunately it seems to happen more frequently nowadays. The problem is that is when you need to hear the scanner the most but you can’t bc you have to instead wait forever thru these obnoxious advertisements. They say on them that they’ll only be 5 or 10 seconds for example but that’s a LIE bc they “freeze” everytime. And then you can’t exit out afterwards wo it taking you to that app even though you never wanted to download it. It’s so frustrating bc when you finally do get back to the scanner everything you were needing to hear

Ads have made this largely unusable.
I understand the need for advertisements. But this app has ads that take over the screen and have sound - playing over the emergency dispatchers when you open initially. So if you open app when the fire whistle goes off - you’ll miss the initial call. Very frustrating. Would like to see it be running visual ads rather than this. In addition some ads take over completely and won’t allow you to exit their ad.

Broken
We have used this app daily for quite some time. We enjoyed knowing why the sirens were sounding. This app provided us information on areas to avoid due to accidents, where the fires are, and where the ambulance was going. We had it on all the time. HOWEVER since the update we now have silence. We can no longer hear calls. We know there are things going on (sirens going off like crazy), but the scanner is dead silent. We will be trying another app to see if we can get the information that we look for.

Great app
If you’re looking for an app to give you draftkings ads as soon as the tones drop this is the one for you. About as much time as you get from a fire whistle to opening the app to finding your channel and then you hear your dispatch is exactly when you get interrupted with an ad that directs you to the applestore and then to a webpage and then when you get back to your channel you miss the dispatch. Sound hectic? Exactly what its like. Mayne banner ads or something else would be good. Not ads that have sound and take over the original sound of the app.
