Description

Use the My Doctor Online app for video visits with your doctor. You can also download our Kaiser Permanente app to manage care for you and your family. The My Doctor Online app is for Kaiser Permanente Northern California members. To get started, download and launch the app. Sign-in with your kp.org user ID and password. A Northern California member without a kp.org user ID and password can register from the app – just tap “Sign-In Help.”

App Doesn’t Work Hands Down
Why have an app that just redirects you to a website and doesn’t inform you of your messages? Totally useless IT department especially if you log in to their app / website and the don’t alert you of new messages:test results/etc. Just have to guess you may have important info waiting for you. I hope you like jokes ‘cause this is straight clown shoes. Updated: Keep missing important messages and finally switched to the regular KP app. DO NOT USE THIS ONE

Has become irrelevant lately
Messages, prescription refills, and more now all redirect the user to a web page instead of handling these tasks in app. Are you guys decommissioning this app? What’s the point of an app if every function gets redirected back to a webpage?

Not only are your services substandard now… but why force me to an app to communicate with my doctor, get my prescriptions, or anything else I need to do if I can’t do anything in the app because every time you want to do something it makes you leave the app and go to the internet! Why have an app?
This app was already difficult to navigate and un-reliable but the newer updates managed to make it worse. I cannot understand the reasoning behind having an app if you are going to navigate people to a browser (and the additional log in)when they click on messages. At this point all the app is good for is joining video appointments.

Used to be a good app
This app has become nothing more than a login portal to the website. Everything that we used to do in the app is now redirected to the website. Why bother with the app? It’s time for Kaiser to reevaluate why people enjoy apps in the first place. Maybe reevaluate the need for employing the dummy who decided to make the change to the app that turned it into simply a web login portal. I know I would.

New Update is Awful
I used to be able to do pretty much everything I needed to do on the app but now it takes you to the Kaiser website instead, only dark dark and it is no longer straightforward to add appointments to your calendar. I thought the point of new versions of an app was to make things better for users, not worse.

Recent problems
I have used the app for a few months now and have found it very helpful. Lately however I can not get to the area’s I want to visit. I click on the area I want to see and it tells me I am leaving the app and going to the Kaiser website. The screen goes black and the blue line at the bottom starts to move. Then a page shows up about what I am looking for and the blue line stops right around the e in Kaiser. The page freezes and I can not click anything on it. Sometimes the cookies page shows up and freezes. Please fix this issue. Like I said before I have used this app for many months and have

Really useless all of a sudden
For a while this app was pretty convenient- I could readily access my and my family’s appointments, messages, medical records etc with the click of a few buttons. But several weeks ago it stopped working and now redirects to the Kaiser website whenever I click on anything. I messaged the IT folks to ask why this happened and if it is being restored. They gave some vague message about a “migration” with no definitive timeline or plan shared to restore the app’s value. A normal IT department would be fired for completely devaluing a company’s app with zero communication or timeline to restore. W

Mychart update ruined app's functionality
My chart update makes this app literally useless. Every button you click within the app takes you to an external link that must be opened in your browser. Cant send messages, schedule appointments, etc. such a terrible "update" that makes the user experience WORSE. Every time i go on the app store for a update for the app, there is one, but it never incorporates the mychart features. So dumb.

Why do you insist on making it worse
Genuinely what’s wrong with you. Half of the app now reroutes me to a browser version and either throws an error page or makes me log in again. What’s the APP for if you’re going to reroute me to the (horrible) website?? Stop firing everyone that’s competent and get some actual UX designers to fix this trash.

Broken Now
Before the update I could just open the app and view my messages in the message center, now it forces open a Safari page for Kaiser where I have to log in to read my messages. The whole point of having an app is not having to go to the website on a browser and log in. So congratulations, you’ve finally done it, you’ve created an app that defeats the entire purpose of having an app. I can’t believe programmers get paid the amount they do just to break things; any other job where you screwed up this big you’d get fired.

This app keeps getting worse! Harder to navigate than ever with more glitchy features. Lately it wants to LEAVE the app and make me log in on my browser. If you get an email from Kaiser telling you that you have a message, it takes about twelve steps to find and read the message.

Stop making the app an inconvenience
Stop making so many different tabs. I went to look at my upcoming appointment dates/times and I can’t even access they it will only show that I have 2 appointments coming up. When you click on the appointments it wants to take you to a website out of the app to view your appointments absolutely the Stupidest update EVER.

Notifications are improving
SMS and email are privacy nightmares. All notifications that can be sent by either should be able to be sent as a notification through the app and show up in a notification section in the app This is a decent web application if it were 1999. It is slow with a bad user experience.

App is good but little bit slow
The app is pretty good and allows you to do a lot of things without logging into the website but it is slow. I also wish that it allowed you to forward or cc to your personal email when you correspond with your care givers. . I have to copy and paste into another email. Also cannot print or save files within the app.

Terrible for blind/visually impaired.
One of the worse apps for the blind. All text paragraphs are mushed together. God luck figuring out a prescription number, when you rely on voiceover. Horrible password recovery. I still can’t get into my account. Even after following Kaiser’s directions. Forget about the phone numbers for support they just lead to a wait on hold situation that never resolves. 90% of Kaiser’s personnel don’t even know how to help you, let alone assist a visually impaired user. They treat you Ike this is not their problem. Go away! It’s bad enough that only the weekend doctors are good and your regulars are

Since the update to iOS 26, when I try to do anything in the app, I’m just trying to read the instructions for an appointment, pre-appointment tasks, I touched the screen. I touched the appointment and the app logged me out every time I’ve tried. This app needs another update to fix it.

Needs more content
Please add a way in the pharmacy screen to change the caps to non-childproof caps. I searched and did not find a way to do this in the app. I called the phone number on my bottle and had to wait through a long menu to be able to talk to a live person. I asked to have the caps changed and ordered a medication at the same time. My meds came with no childproof cap. Hard to open with arthritic hands.

Downhill
I think it used to be a better app but now I find the app frustrating. It seems like instead of getting things done it feels like it’s always wasting time. It’s alright for contacting my Dr though plenty of the responses sound automated. It’s always directing me toward the e-visit tab, and after a bunch of button presses and slow loading pages, it often gives me a telephone number I already have access to where I can be on hold for however long or it tells me to make an appointment, or gives me information I probably could have googled. I hope Káiser hires more people, and treats their worker

Mess up with messages
If you have kids linked to your profile, the messaging system is a total mess. When I try to access messages for a particular person in my profile, it constantly shows my messages instead. This is clearly a bug, but it’s extremely irritating. In general, Kaiser Permanente’s messaging system is one of the weakest parts of the website and mobile app. There’s no centralized mailbox where all messages—whether from the care team or member services—can be viewed in one place. Unable to find a way to update ap on iPhone. Keeps sending me back to old version on my phone when I click update (and the tiny update link was nearly impossible to find!) #1 worst app I ever used
This is one of the worst apps I ever used. Just to name a few issues: 2. When you schedule an appointment it says: “Please schedule only one appointment for the same health concern.” So how am I supposed to schedule a follow up appointment related to the same issue? 3. When you schedule “annual physical”, your doctor tells you that you should have done the lab work before the visit. But how am I supposed to schedule lab work prior to the visit if the app doesn’t give me this option? 4. Secure messaging to your doctor is “secure” but is not private. Anyone at Kaiser can see those messages!

I tried to sign in for nearly two weeks. Said I needed a new password. So I created a new password and received a notice it had been changed. Consequently tried again and told wrong password. Tried 3 times so my account was locked out. Got some help today. Gave me a temporary password and told me to sign in. Tried twice Third time I receive a message that you cannot help right now to try later. Excuse me but I am in dire need of help from my physician.
