I am pretty sure this app is waiting for me to raise my thumb to the top of my screen to send a notification so it gets clicked. I don't know how, but it happens WAY too often to just be a coincidence.
When I get the notification that someone started streaming conveniently sent at the exact moment i am moving my thumb to the top of my screen - the streamer has usually been streaming for a while, so they didn't even just start.
Nah im done, it's actually making me feel insane. I use twitch every day and I am done with its app.

Bad user experience
How do I roll back the Twitch app? This latest update is frustrating to use. I want to use the app and give the UI change a chance, but it feels less efficient to browse twitch and finding new streamers. On the plus side, we can search by viewers lowest-to-high again. I will be finding a third party app to watch Twitch.

Stop with the fake notifications
I’ve filtered all my notifications multiple times to only send one noti and it’s when only one specific streamer I follow goes live but I keep getting notifications saying that their live when they aren’t I click on the notifications as soon as they pop up and it just take me to their page also your app is graped with ads it’s ridiculous money grabbing nonsense

The app functions fine for video playback. This issue is when you want to use the chat feature. It increases in size and your video view is mostly covered.

The people running this app are turning a blind eye to people calling for violence against those they disagree with, one example is someone who called for the elimination of Charlie Kirk, which has happened, unless you want to be held accountable for anything to do with any kind of violence, this platform needs to be removed immediately

Worst app design for Creators
Having been a long time watcher I also think the app is horrible in the sense aswell as it’s been more set up for TikTok style then what it should be and even that’s a poor copy as you can’t edit a single one of your streams let alone hardly access the streams instead you have to do everything on a desktop or attempt to use the desktop mode on google on your phone the whole concept and use of it is frustrating like I will give them props going to set up a stream is rather easy but everything that comes after that is just a pain

What is even the point of trimming chat?
What is even the point? The last two versions of this app, Twitch in their infinite wisdom, have decided the most intelligent thing to do is - when a chat message goes over multiple lines, it cuts it off at one of the lines with a “…” and no matter what you do there is no way to show the rest of the chat message. Why? What is the purpose of this? It makes having chat on your devices completely pointless!

There are way to many ads, for God sake. I can understand the need for ads to the platform and twitch streamers, but come on, I’ve seeing a stream for 10 minutes and then 10 ads one by one without any option to skip more than paying a subscription. It is absurd as it mess the whole experience up and makes you lose the thread of whatever you’re watching.

Frustrating and Cluttered Update
This latest update has made the Twitch app really frustrating to use. Now, every time I open the app, a stream from someone I follow starts playing automatically – even though I didn’t choose to watch them. It feels pushy and disruptive.
It’s also way harder to get to the people I actually want to watch. I have to click around just to find my followed channels, and the whole interface feels cluttered and awkward. It’s too easy to accidentally tap something and get thrown into a stream I didn’t mean to open.

Good, but has its problems
Great for participating in online communities, lots of variety, but a lot of ads. There is a 30s-1m ad every 5 mins, making you miss parts of the stream, a massive annoyance when something interesting is about to happen.
Maybe if everyone watching got the ad at the same time, it would help the streamer know everyone missed a bit, surely there is a way to make it so that viewers don’t miss things and still see an ad

Auto-quality loves 160p
The app is usable, but the quality setting always defaults to "auto", and it seems to love picking 160p at the slightest hiccup (even on wifi), and doesn't update to higher quality after the internet or phone processing power stabilises. Means I need to manually pick a higher quality each time I start watching a stream, very annoying.

Whenever I am watching a stream and it comes too the best part their comes the ads and they take very long and when their is a timer on the bottom it reaches zero then the video keeps going and goes as much as they want and I can’t do anything about it and when I come back I miss out on a lot and is wondering how to stop the we Ads without paying

Hands down the worst redesign of an app I’ve ever used. If this is actually the direction you want to take the mobile version of Twitch, you’re gonna need to start supporting two versions. I can’t imagine a person who enjoyed using the old version of the app that would be okay with using this one as well.

AT LEAST every second day this app updates. It doesn’t sound like much but when you are getting notifications, you open the app to see it has ANOTHER update is outrageous. The layout and usability has also gone downhill. Better off just using the desktop site than this app.

The New Look for the twitch App is Horrible
The new look is horrible to use you can’t even do anything especially with the follower tab as when you minimize the stream to check something it auto closes and main page stream plays when you don’t want it to… PLEASE change it back to its old look as it was MUCH MUCH better to use and do things with than its current form and I cannot give it 5 stars or recommend anyone to use it in its current form

The new update is terrible
The new layout is horrendous, and makes finding what I want on the app impossible.
Right now, I can’t even find the video I was in the middle of watching yesterday (can’t remember which streamer it was to find it manually, but watch history is missing now for some reason??), instead it just keeps making me watch “recommended” streamers I have no interest in. Not even bringing up streamers I know and follow, just random ones twitch thinks I should see.
The layout of the app should be organised for both user convenience AND advertisements, not made to favour only the latter.

what is this new update
I have never written a review for any app until today. This update with the homepage turning into a TikTok feed is the biggest downgrade to exist, along with this has come a multitude of bugs that crashes streams every time I switch between channels. Apps are supposed to be easier and more efficient than webpages but I have been watching through chrome browser these days since it crashes way less. Change it back pls this is disgusting

New Update is shocking
I’ve had Twitch for many years and it’s decent but this new iPhone app (August 2024) is woeful. You open the app and it automatically starts in to a full screen view of somebody you follow, without a choice. Took far too long to find the people I also follow. Why change something that worked really well before?

On your app it says 12+ years of age and I’m 12 but not eligible to join. Is there any reason for that. I am not trying to hate and be rude, like in my perseverance twitch is a good and enjoyable streaming app, but can you please say 13+ or let people 12 join.

Constantly pauses the stream I’m watching and plays the stream on the main page at the same time! Revert it back.
I want to see my follower list in order from highest to lowest and I want their channel title and section also shown like before.

There is i don’t like it just because it’s a bit different. And then there is this actually making it significantly harder too browse through your followed streamers. Ands it’s black ui but as soon as I hit another tab it’s back too the same old white ui? The boss that approved this needs needs a demotion. I actively don’t want too use the app right now
