I downloaded this hastily in an airport after reading a few positive reviews, then spent the next several hours trying to make sense of a game with no instructions or tutorial of any kind to teach you how to play it. I’m not averse to difficult puzzles, but I’m not looking for the actual learning of the basic game mechanics to be difficult. Also I get the impression that this would be better on a computer. The functionality on a smartphone is limited. It’s so hard to know what is interactable and what isn’t, and everything is so small it’s hard to see what things even are sometimes. I eventu

Why don't you just add "Muscaria" at the end of "your dev's name as well". I don't believe using the name "Amanita" is a good choice since young people are playing this game. You even have a mushroom symbol representing the classic psychedelic "amanita muscaria" mushroom I do not care what you "meant" the name to mean here. It points to something highly inappropriate for younger people

Art is absolutely wonderful but the puzzle answers made no sense. Controls are janky as heck. Looks blurry on my large iPad screen. Had a tutorial basically walk me through the entire thing

They took the game straight from pc to mobile without putting any extra effort to make the game easier to play. Even though I have a pro max its hard to see and control. I kept clicking on the wrong place and character already takes years to move. Thats game design but hurts when you do the same thing twenty times.

You can’t execute a critical function due to the items being stored at the very top of the screen where you trigger the phone’s notifications screen every time you try to access an item. When you are able to snag an item, you can’t give it to the robot if he’s at the bottom of the screen. Such a terrible oversight. Where was QA? This should not be listed as an iPhone supported app because it’s not.

I love this game so much!! I have played it so many times! The artwork in this is amazing and the feel this games! And the world that you guys built is awesome!! I don’t know if there is enough demand for it? But I would love a second Machinarium!!

This game is peak I’ve played it on pc and now just bought it here the ratings should be 5/5 stars but they aren’t so I had to write this

Thought this game would be like creeks but it definitely has issues. Board game in the bar is way too difficult and the elevator is impossible. Maybe your AI is learning it’s more fun to win and is just making things impossible. Sorry, won’t be trying anymore of these games.

I found this game after playing Creaks, which I absolutely loved. This one is just as delightful, with another beautiful, immersive, hand-drawn world. The puzzles and characters and gentle gameplay are top notch, but it is the gorgeous illustrations that hooked me. Just like stepping in to a favorite picture book. I wish there were more games like this—straightforward, challenging, gentle, cute, with surprises and fun games-within-the-game. I liked the animation, but the game was more annoying than fun. Levels are too complicated, and sometimes I can’t even see the items I’m supposed to find because they blend into the background. You literally have to click every corner.

I loved every second of this game. The hints make it more than simple enough to work out areas where you get stuck which is amazing. The art style is incredible and the music fits the game perfectly. Absolutely worth your time to play!!!

It’s unfortunate that the user rating doesn’t reflect what an enchanting work of art this game is. It’s understandable that some people would be frustrated playing this on a small screen, especially a phone. It was originally designed for desktops. I played it in 1998 on a Mac and I’ve always considered it to be one of the finest games I’ve ever played. My advice is to play this on the largest screen available to you. Not only will the controls be easier to use but the fantastic artwork deserves to be seen in detail. Whatever device you use it’s well worth playing under any circumstances.

I LOVED this game, right up until you veered away from logic and experimentation to solve the puzzles and inexplicably threw in a timed dexterity one (space invaders), which a lot of people simply cannot do. I might eventually get it, but after a few DOZEN attempts I’m so frustrated and angry with a game I was absolutely loving up to that point that I’ll more than likely never finish it. What feels like a lazy, incongruous minigame decision killed the fun for me and ruined a beautiful game for anyone without tiny, fast fingers. Boo.

I’ve played almost all of amanita design games and found this one to be too frustrating. I’ve always been quick to figure things out with puzzle games, this one is hard to play. You have to be so precise in clicking and often times repeating movements because it’s wanting you to be in a specific spot with a specific item. It’s unenjoyable because of this. I’ve never been able to pass this game, it’s taken me hours. I wonder if playing on the switch would be easier instead of the phone. I don’t recommend this one. I loved this game though I agree it can’t be played without using the hint system. It’s a beautiful and immersive game and such a cute story line. The music was also beautiful. I got the little mini games down to about a minute to get each game play page I needed. The only place I got stuck is in the arcade room where you had to score 1000 on the space invaders type game. I never played those types of games, preferring puzzle type games. I had to have my husband play it to go further lol.

I am writing this review to say that this game and its soundtrack is so good, sometimes I will look at the app and i will burst into happy tears of joy, remembering my favorite childhood game. This game is so great, i one thousand percent recommend, and while the puzzles are hard, keep pushing because it is rewarding. I think that Amanita Design should make a Machinarium two, because they already have part of the storyline for when at the end the police helicopter crashes and Josef and Berta get carried in different directions

This game is an artistic masterpiece. Need I say why? The art direction, the gameplay, the puzzles, the characters, and the soundtrack. This game belongs in a museum.

The graphics and theme of the game are awesome. The issue is that you cannot play the game without the ‘hint’ system which to me defeats the entire point of playing this type of adventure game. Think back to the original text based hitchhikers guide to the galaxy , you had to look around, write down clues, be observant, and actually figure it out. This game is just about the mini hint system and following the instructions. One could never complete this game without the hint system.

Brilliant game with beautiful music. The puzzles were fun with a visually appealing presentation. Not too hard nor easy. A unique world where I can imagine living.

I love the style and the gameplay. The puzzles were easy enough and fun to figure out. My complaint is the mini games. I never got into traditional video games, and purposely look for games like this one. So to find that I had to play a silly video game just to make progress was frustrating. Having one to see the hints would be ok, but even after playing the game to get to the hint, it only told me what I already knew. There seems to be quite a bit of extraneous info as well. Lines of clues that lead no where. I know this sounds so negative, but it was great fun and I would recommend.

puzzles are a little bit open ended and can be frustrating, but i honestly play this game solely for the art style. it’s so cute, the sounds are adorable, and the characters are unique. such a beautiful game.

When I was around 6-7 years old my mom downloaded this game for me on her computer. I remember getting through all the levels with her (googling some we couldn’t figure out on our own) and have a great time. Ten years later and I still find myself redownloading it on my computer or phone, and still finding little secrets and Easter eggs around the game. Amazing art style, equally, if not better soundtrack, and overall great gameplay and story can be found within this game.

I have had this game for years but it wasn’t till my 11 year old said lets do it together that we started it. I wish they would make more games like this!!!

But overall, I found this game frustrating. Some of the puzzles just didn’t make sense and so much repetition needed just through certain stages.
