Awful for Contributors
As much as I love the idea of Musixmatch: that is, being able to contribute lyrics and translations to music streaming services, it is maybe the worst app I have ever used. I am a long time contributor of the app but especially nowadays it is just completely unusable. Super buggy, unstable, and bloated. I tried to use the website instead but it’s also super buggy—and I am “IP-banned” on my home network despite being a top contributor who’s spent dozens of hours freely giving to your service.

Love it BUT…
As of my last review, many of the issues I had have been fixed and the app is much better now and overall much more stable. There are still some bugs, but it is overall a good app. Often times the lyrics can be out of sync, but there is a feature where you can make lyrics appear early, so it fixed that problem. app is great— only when it feels like it though
the app, when gone right, is great. you'll probably never be able to experience it properly though because the app has more bugs than it has curators and specialists. bugs (features by now) may include randomly logging out. if you get to work less than a minute after opening the app, which is pretty normal for someone like me, you might not be able to save your work (i guess they don't check if you're logged in before editing a song??). it's happened multiple times where i sync a song word-for-word and i can't save/share when i finish syncing and it only pops up with an error sign. so, i sadly

Truly disappointing
Never have I ever experienced an app that was this awful to use. It’s basically useless for me at this point. The premise of the app is great but the user experience is trash. I got locked out of my pro account because I used two methods to log in (fb and apple) and that must’ve confused the app or something because I have zero access to publish lyrics from my artist account, I have to publish my lyrics as a general publisher but that’s also impossible now because the app just boots me out of the app every time I try. I’d love for my listeners to have access to my lyrics but unfortunately Musi

Horrible at getting the lyrics right
Everytime i find a new song the lyrics match perfectly but then a week or 2 later they’re gone, and after a MONTH they are back but this time by Musixmatch and they aren’t the right lyrics. ITS NOT THAT HARD YOU JUST NEED TO RIGHT DOWN THE CORRECT WORDS NOT WHAT YOU HEAR. also in one of my favorite songs they completely removed HALF of the lyrics in the song. the people writing down the lyrics must be half deaf and that’s a insult to all the deaf people

Whenever I listen to music, the words flash by so quickly and I can't edit them. Secondly, while I was listening to music, I suddenly got a notification from Musixmatch saying "You've been banned. Because of your internet or yourselves." What could I have possibly done? I was just listening to music 😂 You made your April Fool's joke a little late, couldn't you have had a chance to joke earlier? 😂 Because of your beyond-terrible jokes, instead of listening to music, I get banned. Where do I begin? For starters, I didn’t get the 7-day trial as promised, I was charged the very next day for an entire year subscription. The process of adding your own lyrics are inconsistent— with some song linking to Apple Music and others do not. There’s not any customer service, I tried to join the Slack community but could not join the server. There’s weird “levels” of contributors. Gamifying the song lyric process is strange and the work of con artists. Although I have the Pro Subscription, I still have a banner that says to Upgrade to Pro. The app keeps showing the same advertisement

Used to be good
Back in 2023, I used to love syncing songs from smaller artists I listened to, that didn’t have synced lyrics yet, but now in 2026 whenever you try to sync up songs, the editor gets so out of sync, its crazy. I’ll start the song from the beginning, and the editor will say I’m 20 seconds into the song, when I’m really 30 seconds into the song, and thats when it decided to actually show that the song is playing, as most of the time, I’ll have to start the song multiple times, for the editor to realize I’m actually doing something.

Please Fix
I only have this app because I use Marvis Pro to play music, and Marvis only allows you to see lyrics through Musixmatch. I come back every few weeks to see if this stupid thing has been fixed, but no success. Any time I open the app it makes me login, then grant access to Apple Music, but it doesn’t load anything. I close the app, then I’m back at square one. If you’re not going to fix this stupid app, then at least have Marvis change their lyrics feature for something else.

Near Unusable
I’ve had 2 phones in the past 6 months. On both of those phones this app has been unbearable. Zero stars for this app would be more realistic. Before an iPhone I had a Samsung where I had the same issues but could get past them most of the time. On this phone there’s moments where songs will load infinitely, constant errors will pop up when I’ve been able to hear the tracks through musixmatch before, and my most recent brain breaking problem is constantly being asked to do a recaptcha where I can’t even see the full recaptcha. Rather intuitive except for when syncing lyrics there are multiple frustrating setbacks
I was adding lyrics for my brothers music to try and get him on the radar for more popularity and whatnot when it prompted me to also sync the lyrics. The system seemed incredibly intuitive at first until it started sending me to the top of the entire song every time I synced a lyric making me have to scroll down all the way to the next one before it needed synced. This quickly became impossible as I needed to scroll through tens of lines in 2-3 seconds. I closed the app and came back to the draft it saved and corrected the mistakes that were made due to that and it went swimmingly from there

SO BUGGY ~ so frustrating
Every SINGLE time I try to use this app to edit my band’s lyrics, it’s just hours of frustration. On many occasions I’ve synced full lyrics to the end only for the app to bug-out and erase all the work I just did. It also constantly glitches when I scrub through the song and crashes often. I feel like I’m walking on eggshells every single time I open this app; from fear that I will be wasting my time, losing all my work after spending so much time on it.. I love this idea of fans contributing to lyrics and i enjoy contributing, but this experience is very frustrating. Couldn’t fix lyrics to my song
I have a song called “got me petrified…by the beauty” by Rielle and I edited the lyrics and synced them correctly but someone went in the lyrics and misspelled and changed the lyrics wrong and messed up the sync, I went back to fix it three times and usually it takes about two days for the lyrics to be on music platforms but it’s been longer then that and it hasn’t changed so I went back to change it but it said I couldn’t edit it and it unavailable so now I can’t have tho correct lyrics to my own song get this fixed please

Great app, works about 10% of the time
Want to like this, and the app itself is great, but I can only get it to work very infrequently. Nearly every time I open the app, it is immediately unresponsive and the only solution I have found to get it to work is to fully delete the app and redownload it. Can be counterintuitive for translations

Great App! Very Buggy.
I love the app itself. Adding lyrics, time syncing, and a lot of other cool features but it’s just a very buggy experience for doing that listed stuff. A lot of the time the player just randomly starts bugging out in the middle of syncing a song and it’s very annoying since I either have to restart or deal with more problems. Other times if the song ends before you finish syncing the lyrics, you’ll have to restart so that adds to the aforementioned annoyances.

Used to love this app and was even a “lyrics curator” until they decided they were going to take away this title from anyone who hadn’t updated lyrics in a few months. I figured oh well, I’d just take the test again. The test was faulty and after 3 attempts it said I didn’t pass. Lyrics misspelled - idea to fix that
Lyric contributions should be made by people from the same artist’s country/culture. To take it as example… Puerto Rican artists’ songs which are in Spanish but whose MusixMatch’s lyric contributors don’t understand the Puerto Rican lingo so they make many mistakes. So far I love it! I am trying both the Shazam and this one and this app actually has more lyrics die songs than Shazam (probably because I listen to a lot of indie-folk). Not able to contribute song sync
I love the idea of this app, however, it seems to have quite some bugs. The lessons have issues (like it’s asking question whether it’s properly sync, but you cannot see any lyrics in the video/question, there’s no way to answer it). And when I try to contribute to sync a song (using either iPhone/iPad), it just pops up error saying “We are Unable to perform this action. Player unavailable”. I’d love using this app if these issues are fixed.
