To whom it may concern, the IMDB app via my iPhone and my iPad used to be very stable. However, over the past few weeks, it has repeatedly crashed. No matter what type of search I attempt; the app buffers longer than before and after it stops loading sometimes it crashes and sometimes it opens to my selection. Why use this app? Without question, it is the largest and most thorough existing database of media information. Its integration and linking is superb. I appreciate being able to create and manage personal and/or public lists. I have used IMDB for literally a few decades, and in those many years I have had to sign in maybe a handful of times and genuinely, even when it was infrequent it was always a pain. Yet as of recent months mid 2025 both the app, and the browser which I use almost daily, is now literally weekly logging me out and forcing me to sign in and even now in 2025 the system for signing in is at the bottom of the barrel of one of the worst most problematic interfaces with constant connection issues. IMDb is my favorite app. I use it constantly. For any movie or show I’m watching, have watched, or going to watch. My one suggestion: add a comment section under each movie/tv show. It’s a million dollar idea (you can have it for free). The best part about any social media platform is the comments. Sure, people can leave reviews, but the ability to write a comment and respond to others’ comments is an unrivaled feature and I believe it will bring a lot of community to the app and boost popularity. Currently, there are two separate filter sections that function differently - one allows multi-selection, while the other forces you to reselect each time, which feels inefficient. This is my most used app on my phone by far, and lately the ads and the placement of them is getting a bit much. Almost everytime I’m looking someone up I accidentally click an ad by accident and am redirected to a different web site. Don’t Let Ads Prevent Users from Even USING Your App!!
I rarely wrote reviews, and I don’t like to leave bad or lukewarm ones, but whatever is going on with a recent update or who knows what- the ads that show up every third picture or so when you’re flipping through pictures now are impossible to close out without closing out a movie/actor/show’s picture completely, and starting over again, only to have the same thing happen again. It’s not even a timer that counts down until you can swipe to the next picture. You just get STUCK. I don’t mind being advertised to, I GUESS, as long as at least I can go back to what I was doing!

I have been using IMDB for years to look up show and movie info even telling others to use it. I opened the app to look up something and out of the blue I found the app is unusable on my phone. I opened it and was met with a black page stating “Device not supported, We’re sorry but your device is no longer supported”. Love being able to track movies as I watch them, interact with other lovers of film, and discover new content to watch based on my interests. Why the Changes For No Reason

The website is claustrophobic in its layout. The character layouts are often dark backgrounds and sometimes accompanied by very small print. Compared with a typical google search results page is like night (IMDb) and day (Google search results) Google layout is bright, colorful with the characters showing their faces appearing in professional photos and providing different backgrounds to help distinguish them from other shows or awards presentations. I use it so much that when iPhone offered widgets, IMDB’s widget was the first I started using, BUT here’s the thing: when I look up shows/movies that I have not seen, I expect the recommended streaming services for watching to be accurate. For example, I looked up an actor bc of a movie I was watching (the typical IMDb rabbit hole), but when I was looking at a show that the actor from the movie I was watching was in (did you follow that)… IMDB told me “So Help Me Todd” was on Peacock. I automatically took off 1 star for the parent company that owns and operates the app. It’s one of the most predatory companies on the planet. I love IMDB, however they have slowly changed and not for the better. There used to be a comment section where fans could discuss movies and shows, it was very informative and interesting to discuss idea with others. My Only movie resource
I love IMDB! Whenever I’m scanning channels looking for something to watch I always check this site to read reviews of a selected movie. It has never failed me. If a movie is rated a 3 or less i can be pretty much assured it’s not for me; 6 or above is usually worth a watch. There are exceptions (if it has a high rating but only a handful of reviews that could be misleading), but overall I have found it to be extremely reliable. **Title: Completely Useless and Infuriating! 🌟** I don't even know where to begin with how terrible this IMDB app is. If I could give it negative stars, I would.
