The same day that your subscription expires, you have a notification at the bottom of the app saying, Oh! You suddenly have 30 Likes! Taking away what makes them different

I used to really like this app because it had features that were different. That you were able to answer questions, select which answers you would agree with, and even leave comments about your answers to those questions so that you could clarify what you meant. They took away that functionality, and now it’ll only “match” your questions if they’re the same. I don’t need my answers to be the same as someone else’s to consider dating them. They also didn’t used to have the swiping feature. I always hated that about other apps, which is why I chose OKCupid, but they keep changing everything

I’m writing from the perspective of someone who refuses to pay for dating apps. The app is ok. It shows you actual real people as opposed to some of the other ones. I’ve matched a few times, and those have been interesting (just like all the other apps) but it’s been an enjoyable experience. I’ve met cool people, and its fun to swipe and chat.

But the app constantly pesters me with fake “likes” trying to get be to pay to see who those likes are. I get a “you just missed a match” warning with the same blurred photo every time I open the app, but there is no change in my pending like count. I had the paid version for three months in 2022 and had zero new likes when my subscription ended, and magically had 40+ new likes the moment the paid sub ended. DON’T pay for the membership, the likes are a scam. (TDLR at end of review) EVERY time you don’t have a membership you will receive between 10 and 20 automatic likes which you can’t see, but the moment you pay you will see that nearly all (if not all) of them are from people in ANOTHER COUNTRY.
