Apple Pay stopped working after latest update
I have been using the Trenitalia app successfully since June 2022 and have always found it to be an excellent app.
Approximately one weeks ago, immediately following the most recent update, Apple Pay stopped working for me.
I performed extensive testing:
• Deleted and reinstalled the app
• Restarted the iPhone
• Changed my password
• Updated my profile
• Tried while logged in
• Tried as a guest user
• Tried through the mobile website
In every case, Apple Pay launches normally and authentication succeeds, but the purchase does not complete.

Di male in peggio
Come peggiorare una app già non particolarmente efficiente, in cui è impossibile salvare la propria carta di credito e per comprare anche un solo biglietto da un euro bisogna completare un processo infinito inserendo ogni volta nome cognome ragione sociale numero carta data di scadenza etc. etc.? Si rendono i passaggi più lenti, con un tempo di reazione di circa un minuto per procedere da una pagina all’altra, col telefono nuovo e il 5G. Questa - al di là della nuova grafica - è la principale novità dell’ultima versione dell’app Trenitalia. Congratulazioni.

The app and server have both been returning Access Denied errors all day, so I can't rebook the ticket I bought before the train leaves and si I will lose the cost of the ticket. TrenItalia's IT people clearly don't give a damn about the reliability of their service. Inexcusable!!!

Doesn’t work, as expected for an Italian app.
Like most things Italian, it doesn’t work. Took the time to download the app and register an account only for it to not let you select a departing or arriving location. I’m surprised Italy has survived as long as it has as a nation. They’re so far behind in technology it’s amazing they’re able to accomplish anything on a daily basis.

App needs to be better
This app needs you register first and without having an Italian phone number it’s impossible. The other option is to use there machines but without help you will have problems, the stuff is unhelpful cause they don’t speak much English and many just don’t want to help tourists. The stuff could use a lot of training as well as the ticket inspectors on the trains.

Horrible Customer Service
The customer service at Trenitalia is severely lacking. Their policy only allows ticket purchases up to 5 minutes before a train’s scheduled departure. I arrived at the station at 6:12 to buy a ticket to FCO airport for the 6:16 train, which was delayed until 6:21. However, the app wouldn’t let me buy the ticket due to the 5-minute rule. Instead, I purchased a ticket for the next train at 6:31, which was also delayed by 5 minutes. When the 6:16 train arrived at 6:21, I boarded it, as there were plenty of empty seats. Like the worst app I’ve ever used. So frustrating!! I was able to create a login but it NEVER finds my paid ticket -even after I’ve just purchased it. You’re better off using the website where it does find the reservation. I hope the train service is waaaay better than this app!? Fingers crossed.
