The customer service at Trenitalia is severely lacking. Their policy only allows ticket purchases up to 5 minutes before a train’s scheduled departure. I arrived at the station at 6:12 to buy a ticket to FCO airport for the 6:16 train, which was delayed until 6:21. However, the app wouldn’t let me buy the ticket due to the 5-minute rule. Instead, I purchased a ticket for the next train at 6:31, which was also delayed by 5 minutes. When the 6:16 train arrived at 6:21, I boarded it, as there were plenty of empty seats.
